Good morning from a chilly, dark E Kent.
I’m sorry I duplicated your thread,*Mick*, but am glad you had a good time despite the cold.
I seem to have a probable sale before my house goes on the market. That would suit me perfectly. Very short chain, just the buyers house to be sold, they have a potential cash buyer for their house.
I enjoyed my day with the WI needle craft group where we were taught cathedral window patchwork.
Today, I’ve got Spanish, then a load of cakes to bake for a charity, including m6 latest recipe - biscoff cupcakes.

It sounds like your break was a novel experience, Mick, with technology much in use. I hope you enjoyed it despite the cold weather.

According to the expert opinion of our vet, our pretty little girl cat is actually a boy! DH has named him Perdito since he was a lost little orphan. He coped well with being in the cage and his first injection hasn’t diminished his appetite nor his playfulness!

Today DH's British cleaner is due. This will entail at least an hour of her pouring out her troubles over coffee before starting work. As a single mother to three teenaged boys with an unreliable French partner, she always has some drama going on. I shall retreat to the bedroom and ring a good friend from my Staffordshire days who is recovering from a knee replacement.

I hope today is kind to everyone; it seems a little less cold here. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Up early - DH has a hair appointment and then is volunteering while I have a hospital appointment at 11.30. Sainsbury's delivery at tea time. I aim to sit down at some point.

My daughter is a migraine sufferer gg13 . She now takes medication prescribed by her doctor and they have reduced in number and severity, although not completely.

Another day of rest for me to shake off this covid fatigue - felt improved yesterday, so hopefully today should put a lid on it. Yesterday was dull, dreary and unpleasantly cold. It sounds windy out there this morning, so will get blown on our walk. I shall continue reading a book loaned to me by a friend - a diary written by a nurse in the First World War.

Good morning, a frost-free start here in Wiltshire! Yesterday the black ice was treacherous so DDog had to wait for her walk.
Off to stitch club this afternoon, more like a good natter with a cup of tea, just a few of us but very enjoyable.
DH has already left for jury service, he reckons that’ll be it by the end of today but I am not so sure because the paperwork he has says 2-3 weeks, several trials not just one. He seems to be enjoying it, all very secretive (of course!).
I’m enjoying the quiet days I must say!

We had the house valuation yesterday.It was higher than we expected.We have lots to think about and decisions to make.

Today we will go to the tip and the charity shop.We managed to fill the car boot with things we no longer want/need without too much thought.I think when our girls moved out and their rooms were empty we kept things we probably would have thrown away had they still been at home.Even if we don’t move it will be a good job to sort everything.

Ooh, it’s lovely to be home. Much as I love our little Spanish apartment I always miss our family and I can’t wait to see them today (only exception being our Yorkshire Lass and her ‘intended’). I think having a foot in both camps is perfect for us.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dark but dry. We are nipping over to have a brew with my stepfather late morning - after we’ve enjoyed some Burford Browns and crumpets! (👋 to you EV if you’re reading). He hasn’t left his house while we’ve been away. He sounds robust on the phone but I’ll hope to feel more reassured when I actually see how he’s doing.

I think we might pick up our Boy Wonder and L’il Miss from school. We have duty free chocolates for them to share over the weekend. I bought a bottle of strawberry Bailey’s for their mum and dad - I think they’ll love it!

Himself is looking forward to taking the Boy Wonder to football practice at tea time (Big Coat will be needed) then we have a voucher for 20% off at steak restaurant here in Urmston that people are raving over yet we’ve never been to. Great, that’s the evening meal sorted!

Mick I hope your mini break has refreshed and relaxed you, no cooking, no shopping. That boy kitten who has adopted you is so cute Ash. Bet you were both surprised it was a ‘he’! He sounds as though he has an easy going temperament too!

bluebalou each time I’ve done Jury Service we have been told that we can step down after we had sat through one trial.
Mind you the first time I went I sat for nearly 3 weeks in the waiting room before my name was called, at least they sent us home each day after 2pm.

Having to stay in this morning to wait for the Waitrose delivery which didn’t arrive yesterday. Apparently the driver went over his hours. They will be getting a snotty email today as they didn’t think to tell us.

Good morning all and I hope it’s not as cold as yesterday. It was so bitterly cold.

Last evening I had Choir practice, which was lovely with lots of jolly songs to lift the spirits.

Today we have bowls club and I hope Dh will come along. He has given up everything and has no motivation. I’m quite worried about him! Dd said yesterday ‘he’s going downhill fast’ 😢. Don’t know what’s wrong but he’s seeing the neurologist next week. He’s had a TIA and maybe another and hasn’t been right since. 🤔.

Sorry to hear you have a migraine GG. It must be awful! I’ve woken with a headache but never suffered from migraine, thank goodness. Hopefully it will pass quickly! 🙏

I enjoyed reading about your warner experience Mick. GM my fingers are crossed for you. I have no idea when you last sold but it has become an extremely stressful process. I suggest that you prepare a file of every scrap of paperwork wrt to the house, jobs done, certificates,planning permissions etc and harden your heart when you hear the words `cash buyer` they are often not but use those words to secure a house or get a reduced price

Yesterday was a good day and I am hoping that today is too and that the plumber can squeeze me in this week, to replace a dripping kitchen tap

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset has a little frost, much less than of late.

The mist came down yesterday lunch time and didn’t move, a really cold feel. Being out for an hour was enough. Dust removed I spent an hour supporting our distressed friend who was very fearful. Later a very different call with another friend had me smiling until messages poured in from the first friends daughter. Oh heck. More of the same to come today I think. Distance is a real barrier in all sorts of ways.

Not sure what we’ll do today. Have roped in Mr C to empty and consider the contents of a small cupboard and I’d like him to check a power socket, something he is competent to do. Neither will take long. Maybe hunker down with some catch-up programmes.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I too suffer migraines - in fact I had one yesterday, took a sumatriptan and was in bed by 8 pm. I know some people stop getting then with the menopause, but not me! It is my Book group today. We meet at the local cafe, have lunch and talk about books. Tonight I will pop round to a friend’s. Have a good day.

When our youngest girl did jury service they were ushered out of the Crown Court via the back door after delivering their verdict. Turned out he WAS a very nasty piece of work when past crimes were revealed. His family were vociferously massed at the front steps and the Court usher decided discretion was the better part of valour. Daughter was genuinely scared. She rang me as she walked away from the building. I told her to jump a black cab.
