Good morning from a brightening Colchester. Supposed to be dry and reaching 8° today.
We were out most of yesterday so I have a mountain of laundry after changing the beds and ironing to tackle today.
DS is coming home for the weekend so need to get up to date as he'll bring more to add to the pile.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry and dull out.

I went to collect my new glasses yesterday and they didn’t feel right. The optician decided the frame had been damaged while the lenses were being fitted as they felt fine when I tried them on.A new frame is being sent for so will hopefully get them next week.

DH is painting the doors in the kitchen today. There are four and as he is a perfectionist it will be an all day job.We have made a shepherds pie which just needs heating up in the oven as no steam will be allowed near the new paint so no cooking on the hob today.

I will do household stuff this morning. The little family are back from Center Parcs later today and have booked us to have the children overnight tomorrow so I think a quiet afternoon reading today.Save my energy for tomorrow!

I have hopefully attached a picture of the children at the subtropical swimming paradise. It looks so warm I think even I could be tempted in!

I hope the potential buyers can be reassured gtandMattie.

Happy birthday to your DGD Urms🥳

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from a grey damp looking day but certainly milder than this time last Friday. I did both my 2 exercise classes this week which I didn’t attend last week because of the icy lanes. Hope I’ll feel the benefit later as I feel a bit stiff just now!

Not much happening today apart from our first attempt at beginning to sort out the attic bedroom which the grandchildren love to sleep in. The first thing they did when they visited a couple of weekends ago after hugs all round was to dash upstairs to see their rooms….and they are 15,13 and 11.

Hope the day is kind to all especially those with worries and health issues.

Good morning all. A beautiful sunrise on the frosty Angus coast. I was just wondering the other day if the old wives tales about the weather still hold good in these days of climate change - we've had so many red skies in the morning lately which shepherds haven't needed to worry about!
Enjoy your day out Mick. Sorry to hear your buyers are nervous grandmattie but I hope your paperwork reassures them. I wouldn't be at all happy to travel in a driverless anything, Kalu, let alone in a bus across the Forth Bridge. If that really is the future then I'm glad I won't be in it! I suppose it could be in a similar realm to the workmanless roadworks round here - lots of cones, lights and traffic queues with not a workman in sight 😉
Tai chi was good again yesterday. I stood back and watched as they did the first set and it was practically faultless - I hope I don't find myself redundant!! I have nothing planned for today so I shall just wander aimlessly through it, making sure to enjoy every moment. I hope you all enjoy your days too, and that the poorly have a better day x

Grandmabatty Fri 27-Jan-23 08:28:14

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -1° and quite a thick frost on the cars.
Happy birthday to Little Miss! Urms. I'm sure she'll have a lovely day. Marydoll congratulations to you dd for her achievement. Well done indeed. Grandmattie I'm sorry to hear about your house issue. I hope it's resolved.
Yesterday ended up being a very quiet day. I wasn't feeling well with a niggling pain so I lay about when it reminded me it was there.
Today I'm off to Aldi for food shopping. I'll have to scrape the car first though. I haven't anything else planned for the day. Have a good day all.

Susan56 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:29:19

Massive well done to your DD Marydoll👏🏼🌟You must all be so proud.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:30:31

Morning all

Sending birthday wishes to my pen pal’s GD 🎂

Must get a wriggle on in preparation for the arrival of first GC, we have him on his own until 12, then it’s picking up the other three at regular intervals 🤣

I am feeling better than yesterday, just tired and washed out.

grandMattie my sympathy on your subsidence issues, we have clay heave and are awaiting the second attempt in five years to rectify it.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

muppett1 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:37:07

Good morning all. Just dropped my DH at the hospital for an angiogram? stents. Feeling helpless now. I’m a retired nurse and know to much! Be glad when he’s home. Will find something to keep me busy until they call.

dragonfly46 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:40:48

Huge congratulations to your DD Marydoll.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Goo storming Mick and all from a wet and dreary Oxfordshire.

Just a quick dash this morning to buy Oxfordto buy MrOops a new keyboard and mouse as his is playing up and that’s my day apart from some ‘life laundry’ the bank statement has to be reconciled and I need some legal paperwork which I know is somewhere safe, also some filing and shredding needs to be done, let’s hope I don’t get the piles mixed up. Been there done that.

MissOops has the results of her hand X-rays and has been told she has Erosive Arthritis, the good news that it is usually restricted to the hands. Some women (it tends to be a post menopausal hormone problem) find their feet are also affected, I hope not, the poor girl is in such pain, there is a drug that they also use for Cancer patients for the pain, but it has all the problems that Chemo brings, but should help, hopefully the Consultant will have something else in mind when she gets to see someone.
GM fingers crossed somebody will find your paperwork reassuring, don’t be rushed into dropping the price.
Marydoll well done your DD and a scan to see as well! A good day for you. i hope you soon start to feel better
A lovely photo Susan I wish I was there,
Enjoy the birthday party Urms

Have a good day everyone, stay warm and safe.

Taichinan Fri 27-Jan-23 08:45:49

Very many congratulations to your DD, Marydoll. I hope that achievement does wonders for her self-confidence.

Greyduster Fri 27-Jan-23 08:58:45

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a murky wet South Yorkshire. A difficult night so I’m not in too much of a hurrying move yet, but DD is coming over to take me shopping today so I won’t be able to linger too long. My nephew is also dropping by some time today. He is a bit further along with our family tree - it’s getting quite exciting. We are quite close to finding out more about the Irish side of my mother’s family.
Fingers crossed for your DH Muppett1.
Have a good day, folks.

EkwaNimitee Fri 27-Jan-23 09:06:30

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle where it is currently -1 C. There's a thin layer of ice on the birdbath.

I'm starting with a grumble about GN videos. They pop up in the middle of your posts and distract me from the reading of them. Plus they're totally irrelevant...I don't need advice on coping with morning sickness and breastfeeding! Doesn't happen on my iPad but on the iMac. Just stop it GN!
Rant over so on to today which will involve minor housework and some admin. The weather is good enough to go out and plant my tree but I still have my swimmy head and its associated mild nausea. I don't want to make it worse as I have essential errands to do later next week. An inner voice is telling me to just get on with it though!
Thanks for the info on stamps Jaxjacky...I needn't have rushed out to the post box after all. That was the last of the old stamps though.

Wishing you all the best possible day.

Georgesgran Fri 27-Jan-23 09:07:33

Good morning from Durham - murky is a good description.
Coffee at a friend’s house this morning then off to meet DD2 for our nail appointments. She has her usual visit to hospital afterwards to have her foot wound attended to - it’s going to be a long job before it heals (if ever).
Looked at some cars yesterday, but still unsure/confused.
Best wishes to all. X

ShazzaKanazza Fri 27-Jan-23 09:08:12

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a grey damp Hull morning.

So many family worries today so sending poorly loved ones 💐💐💐

muppett 👋 sorry you and your DH are going through a difficult time.

Happy birthday to your Lil Miss Urms. 🎉

Marydoll your poor friend having all those health worries piled on her family. My son and his wife go for their next scan tomorrow I think they are due a month or so after your new GC. Congratulations to your DD such an achievement.

I am up too late to do zoom yoga this morning as I slept in the spare room because my cough was disturbing DH though he said it wasn’t so not a great night sleep. I may go for a walk instead. Picking GS up from school this afternoon.

Have a good day if you can. Safe travels and hope all hospital appointments go well. Hope today brings those struggling a moment to smile🌻🌻

BlueSapphire Fri 27-Jan-23 09:20:05

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton, 4° out at the moment with bright spells forecast. I shall enjoy my bus trip out to the shops, including coffee and a snack in the M&S Cafe. I need a new tinted moisturiser with SPF for an upcoming holiday, so shall have a good browse in Boots.

It was good to get back to dance classes yesterday; it's almost relaxing to have to concentrate so hard on the steps and sequences that everything else flies out of your head, and you forget what you're worrying about! A kind friend gave me a lift there and back.

Must search for the cats' vaccination cards as we have a visit to the vets tomorrow for their annual check up and boosters. I also need to stock up on their flea and worming treatment medicines, which will cost me an arm and a leg.

Take care everyone, and hope Friday treats us all kindly.

luluaugust Fri 27-Jan-23 09:21:47

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Usual shop followed by GC care today, not much for us to do now he even makes his own sandwich lunch.
Best wishes to all those having a difficult time at present.

harrigran Fri 27-Jan-23 09:23:19

Good morning from a dry NE where it is 3 degrees but we did have heavy overnight rain.
I was awake at 6.20 but fell as.eep again, not what I wanted as I have things to do.
I am going out for lunch with my friend, looking forward to a catch up and hearing what she has been up to.
My younger sister sent a message late last night to say she needs to talk to me and will ring today, not the kind of message I like to receive at ten minutes to midnight.
Sorry to hear your house news grandMattie, unfortunately the word subsidence will stand out in any survey and deter some from progressing with the sale.

baubles Fri 27-Jan-23 09:39:58

Good morning Mick, morning all from bright and frosty South Lanarkshire.

Huge congratulations to your DD Marydoll. That’s so encouraging to hear, one of my GC struggles with dyslexia, I’ll tell her about your DD.

Happy birthday to Urms’ GD.

I think a trip to Ikea is on today’s agenda as shoes are attacking me whenever I open the under stairs cupboard so organisation is required.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Nannagarra Fri 27-Jan-23 09:43:12

Happy birthday wishes are sent to L’l Miss in Manchester and to Gingster’s older brother.

Offering a hand hold muppett1.

Such a beautiful photo Susan56.

Morning all from a lightly overcast S Yorks. Yesterday was busy and nice natters everywhere so today is designated Day Off. I have an annual review with nurse at GP, will ask her to phone, as I've had bloods et al done recently so a chat should do.

......and a wretched long printer in problems history to try and "forward"- the shop sent my printer off to the wrong place and 10 emails later to Epson everything seems lost in space so pestering the shop. I really need it now as well as missing my hobby of playing with photos and printing them off.

muppett may results be as benign as they possibly can, and Grandmattie hope matters can be resolved asap. I hope to move within the year but know its the one problem that won't come up - but damp..ahem....

May poorlies and family poorlies have as good a day as possible.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 27-Jan-23 10:07:34

good Morning all from a dull but dry Harrogate.
Funnily enough, just as I was reading your post EkwaNimitee about breast feeding videos - the same one popped up on my MacBook!I agree, GrandMattie don't drop you price yet just because the 1st potential buyers think they've found a problem. My sister's buyers decided she had an asbestos ceiling and wanted to reduce the price, they ended up paying for the ceiling to be tested, only to find - no asbestos! They did buy the house and paid the price!
Marydoll I, too, cut my DH's hair. When we were courting, he'd been to the barbers who had made a hash of his hair. I opened my gob and said "I could make the same mess for free" - and have ended up doing it for the past 52 years!
This afternoon I gather DD1, DD2, DGD and DGS are taking us out for tea -looking forward to it!
Have the best day possible folks!

Good morning from sunny West Sussex.
Yesterday was busy with marmalade prep and a visit to the current exhibition at an art gallery. The art was lovely but too much to see at one time so we will go again. The marmalade is doing my head in as I bought 3kg of oranges which is too much to do at one time, I have decided, but it’s too late now. I did the peel in the pressure cooker but forgot to set a timer for the third batch so it burnt dry while I was drinking coffee and watching Homes Under the Hammer. My punishment is a pan to scrub and the whole house smelling of burning 😬. Today I will add the sugar and boil it all up but I think it will have to be in two batches. I need lessons in organisation from Grandmattie!

Congratulations to your DD Marydoll - I also have family with dyslexia so I know how much hard work goes into doing things that others find easy.

Thoughts with all dealing with challenges and worries today.
