Otherwise a quiet day for me .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all. A beautiful sunrise on the frosty Angus coast. I was just wondering the other day if the old wives tales about the weather still hold good in these days of climate change - we've had so many red skies in the morning lately which shepherds haven't needed to worry about!
Enjoy your day out Mick. Sorry to hear your buyers are nervous grandmattie but I hope your paperwork reassures them. I wouldn't be at all happy to travel in a driverless anything, Kalu, let alone in a bus across the Forth Bridge. If that really is the future then I'm glad I won't be in it! I suppose it could be in a similar realm to the workmanless roadworks round here - lots of cones, lights and traffic queues with not a workman in sight 😉
Tai chi was good again yesterday. I stood back and watched as they did the first set and it was practically faultless - I hope I don't find myself redundant!! I have nothing planned for today so I shall just wander aimlessly through it, making sure to enjoy every moment. I hope you all enjoy your days too, and that the poorly have a better day x

Good morning from a grey damp looking day but certainly milder than this time last Friday. I did both my 2 exercise classes this week which I didn’t attend last week because of the icy lanes. Hope I’ll feel the benefit later as I feel a bit stiff just now!

Not much happening today apart from our first attempt at beginning to sort out the attic bedroom which the grandchildren love to sleep in. The first thing they did when they visited a couple of weekends ago after hugs all round was to dash upstairs to see their rooms….and they are 15,13 and 11.

Hope the day is kind to all especially those with worries and health issues.

Susan56 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:20:24

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry and dull out.

I went to collect my new glasses yesterday and they didn’t feel right. The optician decided the frame had been damaged while the lenses were being fitted as they felt fine when I tried them on.A new frame is being sent for so will hopefully get them next week.

DH is painting the doors in the kitchen today. There are four and as he is a perfectionist it will be an all day job.We have made a shepherds pie which just needs heating up in the oven as no steam will be allowed near the new paint so no cooking on the hob today.

I will do household stuff this morning. The little family are back from Center Parcs later today and have booked us to have the children overnight tomorrow so I think a quiet afternoon reading today.Save my energy for tomorrow!

I have hopefully attached a picture of the children at the subtropical swimming paradise. It looks so warm I think even I could be tempted in!

I hope the potential buyers can be reassured gtandMattie.

Happy birthday to your DGD Urms🥳

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from a brightening Colchester. Supposed to be dry and reaching 8° today.
We were out most of yesterday so I have a mountain of laundry after changing the beds and ironing to tackle today.
DS is coming home for the weekend so need to get up to date as he'll bring more to add to the pile.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gingster Fri 27-Jan-23 08:15:28

Good morning all and it feels milder. 7 degrees this afternoon!

Today we are travelling to Saffron Walden to celebrate my db2’s 80th. We’re going with db1 and his wife and having lunch in a fancy restaurant. My neice is over from the Netherlands with her baby, so will meet the little one for the first time. 👶🏼.

Driverless bus over the Forth! 😳.

Here’s hoping you all have a ‘good’ day. 🤞

NannyJan53 Fri 27-Jan-23 08:14:18

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

Enjoyable walk with my walking group yesterday, and got chatting to a new member,

Rang my car insurance provider to say I have cheaper quotes as a £49 rise is unacceptable. He said, thank you for bringing it to my attention! Looked into it and offered a new price which was only £7 more than last year! Why do they do this?

Then the flat I rent out apparently has a problem as there is a leak when the tenant showers to the flat below. Rang agents as plumber was going Monday afternoon, but apparently the tenant keeps cancelling!! Agents cannot get through to her on phone so have sent an e-mail. Cannot understand this as it is not costing her anything, plus surely she cannot now shower, very odd.

Housework this morning, then gym this afternoon.

Wishing you all an enjoyable Friday.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 27-Jan-23 08:10:31

Good morning all from North Wales. It’s dry but a little grey so far.

Today are moving back into England for the rest of our time away and I shall be having a shop at Cheshire Oaks. There are a lot of family birthdays coming up so hope to find stuff that will do the job.
Word from our electrician at home says all has gone well. Such a relief as it doesn’t usually with our problematic property.

Happy birthday to L’il miss today.

Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Fri 27-Jan-23 08:10:08

Good morning all, -2°C here in Glasgow.

GM sorry to hear there is a potential problem with the sale. I hope it is soon resolved.

Ash, the BHF are funding the reaserch by my cardiologist into my heart condition, their advice has been invaluable. It's good to have that support.

Kalu, about twelve years ago, I was on a course in Lyons and got on the tram to the University, with a colleague. To our horror, it was driverless!
A bus over the Forth Bridge is a step too far!!

Today is a quiet day again. DH has insisted on doing the supermarket shop, I'm not up to that yet.
I also need to contact QVC, about a return. A parcel, due to be delivered by Evri on 27th December, has turned up! I now have two dresses the same.

I'm still feeling yukky, but did manage a couple of tasks yesterday, including cutting DH's hair. He was beginning to look a bit scruffy. 😉
Since Covid, he has stopped going to the barber, saying I make just as good a job. I don't. Thank goodness he can't see the back! 🤣
He gets annoyed when I pretend I'm the barber and do all the chat like, Any plans for the weekend, sir?.

My friend across the road popped in yesterday to inspect my Ninja 14 function pot.
She thinking of buying one, so I suggested, she look at mine first.
We sat in the conservatory chatting in the sun. She looked terrible. She is the friend, whose husband has cancer, has a poorly prem grandson and the baby's father has MND.
I just listened, while she unloaded, she doesn't get any time to herself.
My worries pale into insignificance.

Last night DD phoned to tell me she has won a world wide award from her company for helping to improve it.
I am so proud of her. She never completed her degree, due to struggling with dyslexia and lost all confidence in herself. We had a few difficult years with her.
She has been told that she is being trained to join the senior nanagenent team.
#very proud mum.

Lastly, DS2 sent a 28 week scan picture of our new grandchild. I did become quite emotional.

I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans. GG I hope you are feeling better and up to the childming today..

hollysteers Fri 27-Jan-23 08:09:52

Good morning Mick and all from a dry brightening northwest coast.
Looking forward to a nothing day as it’s busy busy here. Wednesday recital v good, although the programme was rather heavy and I’m surprised the Yamaha grand is still standing, it had such a bashing😁 I like sitting on the front, keyboard side and asked a chap with his coat on the seat next to him if it was free. He pulled a face and grumbled about his coat being wet or something, so someone else gave me a seat🙄
Burns night went well with a supper of haggis etc. I sat next to the handsome piper in full fig, so that was a bonus. Didn’t feel like singing when the time came much later on and peopled videoed it on their phones.
Art this morning, then into the city tonight for a rave with much younger fellow soprano , so will make an effort lookswise,
Love your drawing aggie, very effective indeed,
Thoughts to anyone with worries.

aggie Fri 27-Jan-23 08:08:15

Good morning from Co Armagh , where it’s a balmy 4 degrees!
There’s a strange pink glow in the bit of sky I can see ?
I’ve art class this morning , don’t know if I’ll manage it , after a mainly sleepless night
Guests are still sleeping or keeping quiet ?
Have the best day you can folks , prayers and kind thoughts xx

Forsythia Fri 27-Jan-23 08:07:22

A grey day ahead by the looks of it here on the south coast. A GP appointment first thing, followed by a small Tesco shop and then, hopefully, a walk later.
Hope everyone enjoys their day, where they can.

karmalady Fri 27-Jan-23 08:06:43

Good morning. Normal january weather in s somerset

I had a social meeting later but the plumber said he would try and come this week to change my kitchen tap. I cannot go to the social gathering. Shame I have to stay in, by the phone, just in case I get that call

Home made sock stash for the future is building up nicely. I want to get through my whole sock yarn stash now as it will be more tricky to use tiny circular needles with older hands and I love the comfort of my woollen socks

Today will unfold as it always does

Gala Fri 27-Jan-23 08:01:19

Good morning all. Dry but with a touch of frost here in Sefton.
Zoom exercise class first thing then train into town to meet up with friends for lunch in our favourite Italian restaurant. We will go a bit early so that I can detour into M & S and TKMaxx.
Take care all.

GrannySomerset Fri 27-Jan-23 07:54:50

Grey but much less cold this morning as I contemplate what to do with today - always possible to sort out some aspect of life if the reluctant spirit moves me. A walk to the village market first thing would be a start. Hope Friday proves satisfactory at the very least.

brook2704 Fri 27-Jan-23 07:54:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cold at just about 2º and I can just see a beautiful pink sunrise from the bedroom window
Good to hear the gardening season is just about starting whitewave hope you get good results this year
Your project with the copper wire sounds really interesting Kalu, hope it works out ok and share a picture if you can!
Today I’m off to the gym for a circuits class and then a dip in the pool. I enjoy the classes there but equally enjoy the chatter and laughter with the ladies. This afternoon I think DH and I will treat ourselves to coffee and cake out somewhere - well it is Friday!
If you’re meeting up with friends and family enjoy the special times
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 27-Jan-23 07:51:45

Morning all from a dark West Oxfordshire. I had better get up soon as I have a hair appointment this morning. Roots and a cut. I also have some things for the Charity Shop and a bit of food shopping to do. Younger son is coming this evening for the weekend. I’ve warned him that his old room is minus the wardrobe and chest of drawers! OH will spend the day putting up new shelves in his bedroom. Hopefully I will be out for most of it! He’s not the world’s best DIY-er. Have a good day.

dragonfly46 Fri 27-Jan-23 07:47:49

Good morning from an overcast Leicestershire. My smart meter said it was warmer yesterday as we used less gas!

We are going to Sainsburys today and will have a coffee in town.
I am planning to make a terrarium in a large old vase I have so I will look around for suitable plants and moss etc. I have ordered a starter kit with pebbles, charcoal etc online.

I like Fridays Kalu as we have wine with our meal 😀
Hoping everyone has a good day.

Blossoming Fri 27-Jan-23 07:44:43

Good morning everyone, no idea what the weather is like as it’s still dark. It’s very cold and not raining. I’m at the hospital eye centre waiting for a fluorescein angiogram.

Urmstongran Fri 27-Jan-23 07:38:06

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s just getting light. Dry again too. A little person we know is 6y old today! We will go round with her present after school. She is having a party with 8 friends tomorrow lunchtime. Other than that we have no plans.

Enjoy Friday all who can. x

Alygran Fri 27-Jan-23 07:37:46

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s just starting to get light. I think we had some rain overnight but it looks clear now.
Off to run a charity group in Thirsk this morning then I will carry on south to DD2’s in the Peak District. I’m there till Sunday to join the family for DGS’s birthday. 14 on Sunday!
Where has the time gone?
I need to pack and sort out some bits and pieces so I’d better crack on!
Have a good day everyone.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 27-Jan-23 07:32:15

Good morning from the South Downs.+4 at the moment, so I might abandon my big puffa jacket for something less bulky on our morning walk. Bliss!

Did some first sowings yesterday - parsley. I use a lot. Got all the seeds out and lined them up in date order. Threw away old ones and ordered replacements. Last summer was a real challenge, will hope for better growing weather this year.

Hair appointment this afternoon.

Lamb ragu with pasta for dinner.

Kalu Fri 27-Jan-23 07:19:44

Good morning from Glasgow where it is still dark and quiet.

I have just read a newsfeed about the first passengers journeying across the Forth Bridge in a driverless bus!
I want to say lunacy but that has already been said when motor vehicles began to replace horses. Signs of the future but across a bridge?

No outings today and I can continue with my new project. I am attempting to fashion 0.3m copper wire into a bare winter tree. I saw a framed one in a local small art gallery and thought I would have a go at making one myself. It looks so easy but…..

TGIF, not that it makes any difference what day of the week it is.😀 Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Fri 27-Jan-23 07:12:05

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Minus -2°C but dry.
Enjoy your day Mick
I'm volunteering this morning in the community store and perhaps a walk later.

Yesterday was another full day with ever changing arrangements. Flat tyres meant I couldn't drive but bussed to see a GN df for a long lunch/blether.
I joined the ceilidh dance class in the evening.

What a shame the buyers are getting nervous gMattie . I hope the sale isn't delayed too much.
Thinking of all those with troubles and worries.

kittylester Fri 27-Jan-23 07:07:41

Good morning all from a dark and chilly North Leicestershire.

Carpet fitters are due first thing to replace some stair carpet and I have to go to the butcher's and the egg farm. Then we might go and look at cookers.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ashcombe Fri 27-Jan-23 06:21:02

Good morning from a cloudy and less cold Sarthe (no frost)

The wind makes it difficult for me to complete the recommended walking I should do as part of my recovery so yesterday I had a go at one of the BHF post cardiac surgery videos which helped. I find the advice on their website useful, too.

No plans for today - I hope you enjoy whatever yours are! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
