Very late Happy Birthday Susan hope you had a lovely day.🎈🎂💐

dustyangel Thu 02-Mar-23 20:27:21

Good Heavens Grandmabatty, where do you find the time, and energy, to paint so beautifully
LadyLFL I wish I hadn’t given up eating meat, simply because it doesn’t seem to agree with me, your beef bourguignone sounds really appealing.
hulahoop I meant to send best wishes for your son. What a horrendous accident, I’m glad his eyes weren’t affected but as mums anything that hurts our children hurts us as well.
And finally, I forgot to say hello to peli, thank you for your good wishes, this is a lovely place to come and sit (and eat) a while.

Susan - Happy Birthday!🎂🎈💐

Soop - What a happy picture of the pretty princess & her smiling "bear' companion having a cuddle!

Hulahoop - how distressing about yr sons' accident- he sounds v courageous & stoic. I hope he heals up v soon!

Grandmabatty - yr painting of the "rain lily" is so restful to look at!

cornergran - doing a beach walk & then coming in to voluntarily tackle the dusting, certainly deserves the rest of the day off! (& also a little treat!)

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. 🥰 Hello 👋 and welcome, Peli!

Happy birthday 🎂 Susan, I hope you're having a brilliant day.

Just had chicken curry from the freezer, quick and easy dinner. Carrot and coriander soup for lunch. Trying hard to shift a bit of weight, so no nan bread with the curry !

I met my friend for coffee this morning while my car was being valeted, she's got a lot on her plate just now with family worries. Did some shopping on my way home, ended up dozing 😴 on the sofa late afternoon, I'm quite sleepy these days.

Thinking of you all, especially those with worries, illness or sorrow. Good luck with appointments, enjoy upcoming holidays and family meet ups.

Beautiful great grandchildren, Soop.

cornergran Thu 02-Mar-23 19:14:27

Hello peli. Good to see you here.

Beautiful children, soop. We did have a good day yesterday thank you.

The disconcerting call from the hospital was merely to check that I would be there on 14th.. It’s a procedure to my spine to be managed in the day ward and requiring a three hour stay afterwards. Reassured by the department secretary that’s all the call was about I plan not to think about it until the day comes.

That sorted and flooring fitting rearranged for a couple of months ahead we decided to go for a beach walk before removimgquite a lot of dust. We both feel virtuous now and plan to do nothing more than sit and read with maybe a little tv in the background.

Thinking of you all but especially everyone finding life hard going at the moment. Rest well.

Beautiful picture of your great grandchildren soop thanks for sharing
Hoping you’re enjoying your birthday Susan and there’s some cake along the way
I’ve been busy washing, cleaning and tidying today, I always like everything done before I go away. We’re having a right concoction from the fridge tonight, trying to use things up. Cheese, chicken, broccoli, potatoes, eggs and carrots, followed by satsumas, blueberries, yoghurt and bananas for desert ….. Haven’t really got a clue what to do with it all and I’d much prefer your beef bourguignon Llfl it sounds delicious
Hoping MrJ doesn’t need any further appointments Jax, he seems to have had a bad time recently
DH has just gone out to take DGS for his football practice, it’s cold here, I don’t envy him standing on the sidelines but he enjoys it and remembers when he was watching his own lads play football too.
Lovely that you’ve joined us peli and thank you for the treats

Blossoming Thu 02-Mar-23 16:17:01

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners, I’m getting all the necessary letters, prescriptions, eye drops and glasses together for tomorrow’s eye clinic appointment as we have an early start in the morning. I’ve made a slow cooker chilli for tonight, I had a stomach upset last night and haven’t eaten today, just sipping water. Some delicious smells coming from the kitchen now 😊. Lovely pic Soop, what a handsome family you have. Happy Birthday Susan. Thinking of Dusty and Urms going through a difficult time x

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 02-Mar-23 16:15:09

Hello all! We’ve just got back from the vet. Milo and Ripley have had their annual check up and boosters. They are in fine fettle. But what a fuss they make! They are supposed to be cats but they were growling! We are having an early dinner (beef bourguignon from the freezer made before Christmas) with mash and peas. I have a Lent group meeting tonight so we’ll eat early. I spent the morning typing up last night’s WI committee meeting notes. Have a good evening everyone, especially those suffering angst.

Jaxjacky Thu 02-Mar-23 15:32:03

Happy Birthday Susan56 🎉🎂🎈hope you’re having the best day.
All coming at once soop having a meet up will mean a pleasure spike in between appointments.
Welcome peli to this special place.
I’ve gardened, washed and sorted admin today, it’s sunny but chilly. MrJ is off to bowls tonight, we’re both hoping this week may be the last (5 now) of nurse visits, tomorrow will tell.
Enjoy the rest of your afternoon ttfn.

soop Thu 02-Mar-23 15:30:14

Have just received this photo of two great grandchildren. Wanted to share with you. x

soop Thu 02-Mar-23 15:22:50

Dear Mr and Mrs Corner belated happy anniversary wishes. I trust that you celebrated in the best way possible. flowers

Grandmabatty You, like all our lovely lot, are kindness personified. smile

Jax Belated birthday to you.

gillgran You will be both delighted and rewarded with the results once your op is over.

Llfl Today I received notification of my annual mammogram appointment for the day prior to the appointment with the knee surgeon. Both in Glasgow. We hope to meet up with Baggs.

Susan All good wishes for your birthday. Have yourself a swell time.

dustyangel As Urms so rightly says, both she and you are travelling along the same difficult road. Us lot are with you in spirit.

I apologise if I've omitted to include all those in our kitchen who deserve a special mention. You all matter.

soop Thu 02-Mar-23 15:05:16

A huge, warm welcome to the kitchen, peli. I am rather partial to banana bread. Thank you for tempting me to try a wee taster...with real butter. wink

Nannytopsy Wed 01-Mar-23 22:28:04

East Anglia is a very nice place to live Corner as you know.
WI village café tomorrow and I’m on duty. Sausage rolls and malt loaf are my contribution. I know there’s banoffee pie but not sure what else.
DD and family arrive tomorrow to bring us their dog for her holiday while they head off to Italy in the camper van, complete with baby. They are brave!
Hugs to everyone who needs one tonight. Sleep tight everyone 💤

Blossoming Wed 01-Mar-23 21:21:10

Hello peli, I missed your post earlier, it takes me so long to type mine grin

cornergran Wed 01-Mar-23 21:08:35

A late happy birthday jax. My apologies and to anyone else I seem to have overlooked, an overfull mind seems to cause me to miss such a lot. No space in the head to hold it.

A hug for urms, dustyangel and anyone holding worries. So hard.

Say a warm hello to Cambridge for us brook. We love the area, no chance of travelling there this year. I miss East Anglia. Not sure how I landed so far from it.

Goodnight everyone. Sleep well.

SueDonim Wed 01-Mar-23 20:45:35

I hear you, Urms. flowers You too, Dustyangel. I hope your worries - and anyone else with concerns on their mind - are put at ease soon. flowers

Soop, what gorgeous chaps! Your GS is very like you - he has excellent genes. ❤️

Bon voyage, Brook, enjoy your trip away.

Hello to the newcomers! 🍰 ☕️ 🧁

Happy birthday, Jax! 🎂

Grandmabatty, what a lovely friend you are. ❤️

Today was dancing day for GD so her mum dropped her off with us mid-afternoon, school being on strike today. On the way back GD said ‘What are we doing now?’ I said I was taking her home and she replied ‘Are you sure you know the way, Nanna?’. 😳 😂 She redeemed herself a few moments later though, when she requested if ‘Because you’re a really great sewer, Nanna, could you mend my toy wolf? He’s got a hole in his leg.’ Bless!

Otherwise it’s mostly been a day of doing life admin and housework. We were outside earlier this evening looking in the sky at the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter. Amazing!
