Welcome dear Kitcheners. Make yourselves comfortable. There is a tasty, virtually calorie-free buffet ready and waiting.

Grandma definitely deserves a medal, or maybe two, grandmabatty. No way would I have the stamina for your day. Our grandson is prone to meltdowns, I know how draining they are. Enjoy your wine.

Your day sounds much more manageable urms, enjoy your merlot. Wish I could drink red wine, there’s something in it that disagrees with me. Mr C is pleased, the red wine is all his.

We’ve had a very pleasant day, blue skies all the way. An enormous breakfast in a warm and comfortable garden centre along the coast from here was followed by a walk on an almost empty beach. Warm enough to wear a thick candy rather than a coat. Bliss. . Coffee overlooking the water and it was back home when I decided to prune a shrub or two before a phone chat with a friend. I then fell asleep for an hour. My sort of day grin.

It would be good to think you could have the car of your dreams soop. Agree about the shingles jab, one of our neighbours spent 8 months recovering. Life’s too short for that

Wishing you all a pleasant evening.

We had two GS’s here today, they had a 2nd breakfast, then a snack, then a snack followed by a picnic lunch, followed by strawberries, Grapes and blueberries.

After The Imp had a nap and the 8yr old relaxed with GrandpaGravy’s iPad they were both starving 🤣🤣🤣

I am recovering on the sofa before I cook (lamb chops, dauphinois potatoes and green beans)

Enjoy your evening dear kitcheners, however you are spending it 💙❤️

I posted too early! I am drinking white wine before dinner. I have tidied up and won't have to do it again til next week when dgs1 will be dropped off at nursery. The two boys together are wild. Grandma deserves a medal. I hope you had a good day, she laughs hysterically, and have a good evening Kitcheners. 🥂🍾😂

Grandmabatty Tue 14-Feb-23 17:53:25

Good evening Kitcheners. Well your good wishes for a better day weren't powerful enough to reach central Scotland! I had planned an early visit to the local park. It started off well. Dgs1 ran about, climbed slides and had a ball for about an hour. Then we headed to feed the swans. Or as dgs1 calls them, "Schwans". Clearly he is channelling his inner Sean Connery. Everything went well, two schwans fed and dgs2 started with the screaming. I knew he was due a nap, so told dgs1 we were going back to the car. Man alive! He had the mother of all meltdowns, howling, crying, saying he wanted to stay. Nothing consoled him. The walk to the car park took fifteen minutes which felt like years. So one screaming in a buggy and another screaming beside me. It was like the parting of the red sea. People avoided us. Fellow grandparents smiled sympathetically. I responded through gritted teeth.
When we got home, dgs2 went for his nap and dgs1 and I had a chat about big emotions. Dd was so horrified, she suggested taking a half day and picking them up. I told her not to be daft but for that split second...

‘Evening All’.

Been out to the park today then took L’il Miss to a lovely cafe round the corner from her house then we called in at the hair salon, so she could have a cut - brushed through & sprayed with water first. The hairdresser said “doesn’t she have a lot of hair?”. Many inches were lopped off as per the wishes of the mini client. “You sure?” ... “Definitely” She skipped home to show mum. “You look beautiful!” was the delighted response of mum as she opened the door to us. Smiles all round.

Himself is just putting on his Big Coat as he’s taking the Boy Wonder to his football training. I think I’ll pour myself a glass of merlot and put the piece of pork in the oven on a low light. It’s been a Good Day.

Hello all. The decorator has just left and will be back at 8 am tomorrow. OH has been to Waitrose buying a £20 special Valentine meal. He can’t understand how they make any money as the bottle of Cocktail is £16. I’ve just ordered a print of a painting by Anna Alma Tadema. I had thought it could go in the newly decorated lounge but I’ve decided it would suit the ‘new’ room upstairs. Have a good evening.

BladeAnnie Tue 14-Feb-23 15:54:52

Good afternoon dear kitchen friends. A busy day for me - hospital appointment this morning and nanna duty this afternoon so DD1 can have a sleep before her night shift. Thank you everyone for the welcome back - we've had a lot going on over the past month or so ....such is life as the saying goes 🥰 . Sending hugs all around TOYA 🌷🌷

soop Tue 14-Feb-23 15:12:28

You lovely lot hardly ever take a breath. How's a girl supposed to keep updated with all your comings, goings and doings. hmm

Yia Have the best day imaginable with wee Oscar. I love his name.

Grannmarie If we could, we two would join you in Dunbar. Tunnocks are to die for. As for the hot-tub antics, I also had a spluttering session when I tried to visualise you both "dressed to the nines".

Grandmabatty If anyone deserves a delicious glass (or two) of wine...it is your good self. Cheers!

brook Garden Centre cafes never fail to serve good coffee and cake. Add to that, good company, and you have the makings of a treat.

BladeAnnie Your personal chair and tartan rug are always here for whenever you join us. We enjoy your company.

Llfl Migraine pain is a buggeration. I hope that the medication helped you to recover smartish.

kittylester That was a special way of sharing your granddaughter's birthday.

Scapal the Shingles jab is a must. Our pal is only just recovering from the pain. It has taken at least three weeks for it to become bearable.

Urms Yes! I agree wholeheartedly.

Galen If I won a jackpot, I would give a large proportion of it away. I would love an automatic Mini, preferably yellow. wink

Jax What has been the trouble with your nose? Bless you.

Jaxjacky Tue 14-Feb-23 13:28:23

Beautiful afternoon here down south after the fog cleared, I have to go gently today as I had two cauterisations in my nose yesterday.
Hope your day is gentler too Grandmabatty with cheerier children.
Stunning views Grannmarie hot tub sounds fun!
Hi BladeAnnie good to see you.
I must shift my stumps and go for a short walk whilst dabbing my nose in a ladylike manner 🙂
Catch you later, enjoy your afternoon.

Galen Tue 14-Feb-23 13:01:54

Hi all! Not much going on chez moi.
No more frogspawn yet, just the one big clump. Think I must have a single pair of excessively Randy frogs.
I’m waiting for my clock repairer to call. I had my longcase clock repaired by him now it’s gaining 3 mins every day! Time goes by quickly enough without the clock hastening it!
Hope soop wins a jackpot and can buy a new car.

‘Evening All’.

I a far more relaxed bunny than I was this morning. 😊
I’ve been taking part as a volunteer in research on breast cancer. After DNA testing & genetics etc I came back as ‘high risk’. 😱

A lovely doctor rang me this afternoon. He graciously thanked me for taking part in the project. Upshot was, although I have that prognosis, I have many mitigating factors (weight loss being major - hurrah’) and I was very much reassured.

Life really is precious isn’t it? I had a skip in my step when we then went out to take the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss to their swimming lessons.

Afterwards we sat in the bar downstairs from us before coming up to eat and counted our very many blessings. As always, we chink glasses and say ‘Life’s Good’.

When I had breast cancer in 2017, we realised that on my father’s side of the family there was a lot of cancer. My oncologist asked me to have a blood test to check whether I had that rogue gene (the one Angelina Jolie has). I had to wait six weeks for the results. All I could think about was my daughter, granddaughter, cousin, her three daughters and granddaughters. In fact my cousin had turned down the opportunity to have the test. You can imagine my relief when my oncologist told me I was ok. Phew. That was a long six weeks. Onwards and upwards, eh Urms?

grannmarie I bet you’ll always remember that hot tub experience ! Lovely though, hope you sleep well and you’re warm and cosy
Thinking of blossoming too, hope all is well

annsixty Mon 13-Feb-23 22:08:27

I’m sorry but with that picture in my head Grannmarie I nearly choked on my cuppa.
Have a good night everyone, I am in bed with my iPad.

Grannmarie Mon 13-Feb-23 21:58:30

Thank you, Grandmabatty and Brook.
Hello 👋 and welcome, BladeAnnie!

Grandmabatty, I'd swap if I could... I'm missing my childcare time with DGS2. I loved having him to myself...until Papa arrived! Lovely ' other Gran ' is doing 'my day' this week. I know DS2 and DDiL2 are thinking of me, trying to make things easier until we know the outcome of my Chest Pain Clinic appointment. We are invited over to spend Saturday afternoon at theirs as ' welcome visitors ' without childcare responsibilities. I'm very thankful, truly, just feel I'm not much help to them.

Hope all is well with Blossoming. 💕
Neine, that sounds uncomfortable, I hope things improve soon. I also hope that your OH enjoyed his first day, so glad the prayers helped!

We had another spell in the hot tub, it's a good job no one could see us, imagine this vision ( moi!) wearing my pool shoes( in case I slipped), my lovely new Bon Marche swimsuit 👙 ( I wish) with my hair tucked up in my woolly hat! DH had his woolly hat on too, with his white beard he looked like Captain Birdseye!

TOYA, NNGB.

Scapa1 Mon 13-Feb-23 20:33:49

Evening kitcheners. Had my shingles jab at the local community hospital today after it was delayed because they were doing Covid injections. I know it is forover70’s but do they have to make you feel old and feeble grin. Loving my air fryer though.

kittylester Mon 13-Feb-23 19:47:10

We had a lovely day taking DGD 4 (aged 9) shopping to spend her birthday money from us and then for a pizza. She was a delight but, after she and her family being here all weekend too, I am exhausted. Not as recovered as I thought I was.

Good you had something to cheer you, soop. And, I really hope your DH had a great day, neine.

Your friend will probably recover most of her equilibrium over time, corner. But what a worry.

brook2704 Mon 13-Feb-23 19:36:04

Hi 👋 BladeA you’re always very welcome
Sorry to hear about your ongoing pain neine hope it eases soon and your OH had a good first day today

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 13-Feb-23 18:31:45

Well, not quite the day I was expecting! The decorators duly arrived at 8am, which was good and I went to Waitrose for the weekly shop. I was supposed to pop over to my friend’s after lunch for a craft afternoon, but I got a migrainesad So annoying. I took a sumatriptan which worked quickly, but I was left feeling too woozy to go out. OH is preparing a Waitrose Chinese for dinner and we’ll watch Only Connect. Sometimes we get one or two right! A curate’s egg sort of a day.

Naughtyneine Mon 13-Feb-23 18:27:07

Good evening ladies... I'm amazed at how much happens in the kitchen in a couple of days.
Granmarie.. Have a fabulous time and thank you for your prayers for my DOH.
Soop I hope seeing your Great grandchildren had given you and Mr Soop a much needed boost after being poorly and the sadness if the last few weeks. We did another stint at the club on Friday night...I stupidly we've to the gym on Friday morning and the saddle pain went into overdrive and despite strong pain killers has remained so...I struggled through the shift and today I helped with the pensioners lunch and as I write I want to scream with the pain but DOH is due in any minute and it's been his first day at the new site in his new role so I'm trying my best to look normal for when he comes in. I do hope they find out what's causing it soon.
Did Blossoming pop into the kitchen....I couldn't see a post from her.
Enjoy all the GC visits ladies... Remember after they have gone... There is always wine!!!!!

BladeAnnie Mon 13-Feb-23 18:25:15

Is there a little space for me to pop in the kitchen and say hello❓️🌷🌷

Grandmabatty Mon 13-Feb-23 18:22:38

Thanks Yiayia I was a secondary English teacher and could quell the most disruptive bunch with a glance. These two have me beat! 🤣

Yiayia4 Mon 13-Feb-23 18:16:59
