Welcome dear Kitcheners. Make yourselves comfortable. There is a tasty, virtually calorie-free buffet ready and waiting.

I am sorry to have so little upbeat news to share with you lovely lot. I have no wish to depress you. I shall therefore refrain from indulging myself.

Galen I shall take a look at one of those amazing scooters. Thank you kindly.

Back with you all again tomorrow. Enjoy your Sunday. smile moon

Hi all, more sadness for your friends soop 💐
Saturday paper, a walk and rugby has been my day, very enjoyable too, (watching rugby that is!).
Last of the, was frozen, Christmas turkey is now in a curry for dinner, probably watch a Vera on catchup.
Enjoy your evening all.

Urmstongran Sat 11-Feb-23 16:48:01

An early ‘Evening All’.

We’ve just eaten - salmon, potatoes and mushrooms fried in butter with spring onions. I love that combo. We are going out to babysit soon and usually we get home before 10pm.

Yes, where is Blossoming? I didn’t notice until you pointed it out Jax. I hope all is okay too.

Galen you have had the most horrendous few months by the sound of things. I hope springtime will be something you can enjoy.

So sorry to hear about more sadness Soop sending condolences to the family 💐

kittylester Sat 11-Feb-23 16:40:44

Just spotted Galen, it's really great to see you and so glad you gave given us fair warning of your potential return to the roads grin

soop, I am sure you are a great comfort to your friend - what a horrid time for them.

We have had a lovely time with DD2, DD3, their spouses and 5 cousins (including the Wondrous Wolfie) I need a sit down now!!

Nannytopsy Sat 11-Feb-23 15:35:09

LLFL that sounds like a good tea! We are having a Madhur Jaffrey chicken curry but I have yet to make it.
Love that buggy Galen - it manages to look elegant!

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 11-Feb-23 14:05:35

Oh Soop, you and your friends are having such a difficult time. All you can do is listen really. I assume Mr Soop is well on the road to recovery courtesy of the odd hot toddy or two! I have been clearing out younger son’s old bedroom ready for the decorators on Monday. I found a pile of really nice photos and prints behind a cupboard! Thing is we’re running out of wall space. After all that furniture moving I made a cake. A new recipe for a chocolate cake with black treacle and cocoa. I think I’ll fill it with white chocolate buttercream and take it to my friend’s on Monday when we meet for our craft group. A nice plain dinner tonight - toad in the hole with mash, peas and gravy. Have a good rest of the day.

Galen Sat 11-Feb-23 14:03:53

soop it is a road scooter allowed on the highway. It does 8 mph, has lights , indicators, heater windscreen wipers and even a reversing camera!
I got it second hand on eBay

soop Sat 11-Feb-23 13:48:24

I am pleased to hear of the good happenings in the lives of you lovely lot. Those of you with problems, please be assured that we are here to do our bit to support you.

Our friends visited us yesterday afternoon. We discussed the details of our lady friend's mother's funeral. Her late mother's sister, a favourite aunt, terminal cancer. Today we heard that her aunt's husband died in the night. It truly is a sad and difficult time for what is a close-knit and loving family.

soop Sat 11-Feb-23 13:39:43

Dear Galen, I am very sorry to hear of your awful debilitating experience. I am very impressed with your classy scooter. If we had a pavement between here and the village, I would def twist Mr Soop's arm and acquire one. I assume that such a scooter is not permitted on the road. hmm

brook2704 Sat 11-Feb-23 12:54:12

Hi Galen lovely to hear from you but sorry you’ve had such a rotten time 🙁. Love that little red scooter and hope you’re out and about in it soon!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-Feb-23 12:52:50

Oh dear Galen sorry to learn you have been out of action, but good to see you posting again, take care 🌸🌸🌸

Galen Sat 11-Feb-23 12:49:36

Ps. I need a black and white cat (stuffed) to go with it!

Galen Sat 11-Feb-23 12:48:30

Just to say I’m still in the land of the living. Managed to break my fibula at the end of September. Walked around on it for a month then had to have it pinned and plated. 3/12 in plaster! They tried to put me in a walking boot but it didn’t fit my deformed ankle and gave me a pressure sore which has only just healed. I don’t feel I’ve had the best few months of my life!
However I’m mobile (sort of) again and when the weather improves I’m looking forward to taking my postman pat scooter out again!

brook2704 Sat 11-Feb-23 12:45:10

That’s true Jax , I too hope everything is ok with Blosomming, we’re missing her

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Feb-23 10:58:15

Just thought this morning, Blossoming has been absent for a few days. I hope all is well with her.

Bellanonna Fri 10-Feb-23 21:58:15

Brook, bravo your stepson! You must be really proud of him.
soop, I’m so sorry you’ve got another blessed UTI. I hope the antibiotics work quickly.
Ann, I’m glad to hear your GD feels better disposed today. Enjoy your night off duty and I’m sure GD will enjoy having her friend to stay over.

Grannmarie Fri 10-Feb-23 21:58:02

Thank goodness you are there for your DGD, Ann. I can't imagine how she would cope without you.
I think it's lovely that her friend is welcome to stay in your home to support her. I hope you all sleep well tonight. 😴😴😴

annsixty Fri 10-Feb-23 21:26:32

Thank you all for the kind thoughts especially as many of you have problems of your own.
My GD is in a much better frame of mind today.
She is still in pain but the worst aspect is the constipation.
We all know what it is like but it has really floored her.
She has taken the Lactilose she brought home, prunes and has just now taken liquid dulcolax that I need occasionally.
I hope it works soon.
She has a friend here this evening so I am off duty for tonight.
Her friend is going to stay over in the folding bed so her mind will be taken off the discomfort.
You are all so kind, I feel rather alone with it but that is families for you.
She will not let her mother know anything.

Urmstongran Fri 10-Feb-23 20:59:57

😊

brook2704 Fri 10-Feb-23 20:53:18

Congratulations to your DD Urms, so very true - as long as they’re happy, I’m happy - I totally agree!

Grannmarie Fri 10-Feb-23 20:20:38

Corner, cheers!

Annsixty, thinking of you, hoping that your DG's mood improves soon, you don't deserve any more upset. flowers

Grannmarie Fri 10-Feb-23 20:18:11

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!

Aww, Soop, I'm chuffed to hear that MrSoop is on the mend, but huffed that you have another UTI, it's just not fair!
I'm mightily impressed by how quickly you got the antibiotics, great service.

Glad to hear that poorly husbands/OHs are improving/ getting treated, and delighted with Neine's OH's news on the job front. How uplifting that you have restored his confidence and self esteem, Neine, what a wonderful gift to give him. I will pray for his reception into the Church at Easter, a very special and moving occasion. DH'S neice was received into the church some years ago, at the Easter Vigil, very moving.💕🙏💕

YiaYia, thank you for your kind words. I am sure that your fridge and freezer will be full to overflowing, ready to welcome all your family this weekend. Enjoy!

Jaxjacky, thank you. Glad to hear that your DH is coming to the end of his treatment, enjoy your weekend.

Grandmabatty, thank you. I hope you are feeling a wee bit better now, make sure to rest and recharge your batteries after your busy childcare days with the wee boys.

Brook, God bless and protect your stepson and his colleagues, they are brave heroes. You will be very proud but also anxious until they return home safely.

Salmon fillets, salad and brocoli for dinner, accompanied by a chilled glass of SB cos it's Friday, cheers and good health to all!

TOYA, NNGB.

Urmstongran Fri 10-Feb-23 19:41:13

Oh heck, soop, you could write a book about the impact of UTIs and probably a dissertation on the effectiveness of various antibiotics

That really made me laugh corner! 😁

cornergran Fri 10-Feb-23 19:36:43

Tomorrow will be better ann. I’m sure of it.

Oh heck, soop, you could write a book about the impact of UTIs and probably a dissertation on the effectiveness of various antibiotics. Hope you’re more comfortable tomorrow.

Congratulations to your Yorkshire Lass urms. I’d have done the same all those years ago had the very mention not caused immediate parental distress

Your stepson will be seeing some horrific sights brook. I’m very grateful to him. The agony of those poor people upsets me deeply. I no longer watch television news.

Don’t envy you that decision yia, an almost impossible one to make.

Wishing you all a good evening. There will be a chilled glass of white here very shortly, I do like Fridays.
