Hello all and best wishes to Mr Soop. I hope he is enjoying a wee dram or two - or a hot toddy! You had better join him, Soop! I had a good time at the WI Coffee Social. We discussed the cost of Care Homes, drowning, bouquets of flowers and the Scouts. Later I collected my two new pairs of glasses. I particularly like the spotted ones (Cath Kidson) so I’ve attached a photo! Have a good evening.

I owe you all an apology. I feel that I have neglected you during Mr Soop's poorliness. I assure you that I am grateful for all your kind comments. I shall hopefully feel more up to chatting once he's truly recovered. You are all amazing in the way you support each other. Thank you.

Poor DGS, Yia I hope he isn’t in too much pain. A friend’s son once had a similar injury. The doctor gave his verdict then said ‘Did you know your son also has an older fracture in his ankle?’ ‘Err…no,’ said my friend, ‘though he did complain a bit about his leg about a month ago. I gave him a Tubigrip and two paracetamol.’ 😳 😂
Brook my GD wanted an Empire biscuit at a cafe we visited one Halloween season. She misheard what the waitress called them and now they’re known in this house as vampire biscuits. 🧛♀️
Urms our dd tells us the most astonishing stories from her job in A&E. People are bonkers probably covers it all! One of her patients bit her last week. Luckily, he had no teeth. 😬
I’m pleased Mr Soop was able to enjoy a nightcap. I hope he’s feeling more himself by tomorrow.
It was an odd day here, starting with my beautician’s appt being cancelled, which threw the rest of my day into disarray as it was all planned round that. We still managed some things including a visit to another dump. We’ve decided the dump that’s a bit nearer our house is a superior kind of dump so we won’t visit today’s one again unless ours is closed.
I took my car to dealership to get the computer system sorted. The system has been out of action for three months but their ‘tech guru’ had it sorted in about three minutes. Then a free cup of coffee courtesy of M&S vouchers and I picked up a few bits in the food dept and then home. I’ve got meals planned until Thursday so that’s a nice feeling, to be organised.
I’m catching up on various bits and bobs while MrD is cleaning the kitchen floor with his new steam cleaner, and a very happy chap he is, doing that.

Thinking playpens, urms reminded me, we had a big square wooden one. I was often to be found inside accompanied by the iron and ironing board while our first born played happily on a rug. It worked for us .

We’ve had a busy day. Spent a couple of hours at Wythenshawe hospital out patient department for my stepfather’s ENT follow up appointment. He has been discharged. Yay! They did take bloods too to check his levels. Hopefully all will be fine - results will be sent to his GP.
Jax I know you have nosebleeds and I have sent you a p.m.
Honestly though you don’t half see life in a busy hospital. A female patient from Styal women’s prison was brought in handcuffed to Police. One poor man who was sat with his wife, older than me but younger than my stepfather, was reading a leaflet he’d been given entitled ‘Lung Resection’. A teenage lad with his grandmother was vehemently against having an operation - he came out of the consulting room looking upset and furious. Oh dear. He might go home and mull it over I thought. Grandmother looked flustered.
The ENT doctor was lovely when we got called in. ‘Hi, I’m Emma’ she said with a smile to my stepfather. ‘Goodness, you don’t look 90y!’. He’s marvellous isn’t he? When we walked back to the car I thought how smart he looked in his well polished shoes and family tartan scarf. He stands tall and erect - no slouching. I think he’s pretty wonderful. He is gentle and one of life’s ‘listeners’. No wonder people like him.
Grandmabatty I couldn’t manage what you do without an old fashioned playpen. Does anyone use them anymore? I thought they were a godsend in the past.

It's cold and overcast here today, I had hoped to get out in the garden to do some tidying up, but I'll wait for a sunny day.
I've been busy changing beds and making lentil soup ( with a ham hough), then chasing up prescriptions...
Everything seems to take me twice as lo g these days, time to sit down with a cup of Redbush tea and GN.
I hope MrSoop and MrJaxjacky continue to improve, sounds like they are both being well looked after with plenty TLC.💕💕
YiaYia, your poor wee DGS, what a shame! I'm sure he enjoyed being looked after at yours, he'll not want to go back to school.
Put your feet up, Grandmabatty, you've earned it, glad you're having a good day with the wee boys. DGS2 starts in The Big Boy Room next week at nursery, he turns 3 tomorrow. Time flies, he was born just before lockdown.

LLFL, I still have my Jaques Vert dress and jacket from DS1's wedding 20 years ago. I suppose it should go to the charity shop, I'll not wear it again ( I am no longer a size 16☹️) but I find it hard to part with outfits which have special memories.
