Welcome dear Kitcheners. Make yourselves comfortable. There is a tasty, virtually calorie-free buffet ready and waiting.

Pushed post by mistake..
Ann and Blossoming... Thank you for your lovely words... They meant a lot to me...we often don't see ourselves as others see us do we?...I had to ask DOH if I came across like that in real life and not just in my words ...and he said 'most definitely'.

Naughtyneine Fri 10-Mar-23 08:41:04

Get well soon Soop...we miss you. Lots of healing thoughts today for you and your DD Jax.
Somehow or other multiple trays of violas made their way into the back of my car on the way home yesterday... But it's going to need to warm up a few degrees before I venture out to plant them.

Great to hear that YiaYia and Jaxjacky's daughter are getting seen promptly on the NHS, I hope Soop can access some good support soon.

SueD, you must be so relieved to see your DS. It's great that you can go with him and feel the welcoming supportive atmosphere that will surround him through these days of Treatment.

Neine, your kind words summed up our P.P.'s involvement in his Mum's funeral beautifully, his last gift to her indeed. 💕

Our friend slept well in hospital, she's on IV antibiotics, at risk of sepsis. 💕🙏It's so sad after all she has endured so stoically.

I waited in all afternoon for the Gas engineer. He was booked to replace/ upgrade my CH thermostat which has become very difficult to programme cos the LED, maybe LCD? display has almost disappeared, 7s look like 1s and 8s look like 5s....anyway, the thermostat he brought was not compatible with my combi boiler so he'll come back tomorrow...dearie me!

DSister2 and DNephew 2 should have arrived in Chicago by now, it'll be cold there too!

Stunning photos, Brook, sounds like my kind of holiday, but DH just doesn't have the mobility nowadays. Never mind, we have brilliant memories of Pammukele, Rome and Pompeii. And Skara Brae, our oldest historic site, on Orkney.

I lost 3 pounds at Slimming World class this evening, wish I could do that every week!🤣 I think I managed it by going to bed earlier instead of snacking in front of Netflix in the evenings!

Hope everyone has a peaceful night, especially Soop, Blossoming and Doodle.

TOYA, NNGB

Good wishes to those of you with medical difficulties. Mine is very minor compared with Sue’s son and Jax’s daughter. I did an Engage consult with the Health Centre this morning and had a call back quite soon. Because my arthritic thumb isn’t swollen or red I am seeing a physiotherapist next Thursday. We will talk about whether or not I can have a cortisone injection. I am still reading a book about medieval London which I am enjoying. A local builder popped round today and replaced the door to the back of the garage. Not cheap! I think I’m going to bed soon. I feel like snuggling down in my bed and reading.

brook2704 Thu 09-Mar-23 20:39:19

Hoping all goes well for your DD tomorrow Jax, that’s very quick!
Lovely roses Peli thanks for the picture!

brook2704 Thu 09-Mar-23 20:35:43

Oh soop sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly, I hope things improve a bit soon, sending gentle hugs and much ❤️
Another lovely day here, if you’re into Roman ruins, ancient history, ports, castles, forts and Maritime history etc it’s definitely the place to come. I managed to extract DH from the Naval museum late this morning and then we enjoyed a walk along the coastline, past the lighthouse to a gorgeous rocky cove which was a real sun trap. Even so, it was a bit chilly for me but the some of the youngsters were out in bikinis and shorts etc.
Yep my bit of Spanish is coming in very useful, thanks grandmabatty I still need to learn a lot more though!
I enjoy my holidays away annsixty but equally I enjoy holidays spent in the uk. I just like to escape the Inverness winters 🥶
Pleased to hear you’ve arrived ok SueD and hope your DSs treatment goes well, it’s so good that you can be there with him
Another couple of days here then we’re off to Mojacar at the weekend
Your trip to

Blossoming Thu 09-Mar-23 20:34:16

So sorry you’re poorly desr Soop, I hope things improve soon.

That must be a comfort SueD to be with your sons, though I’m sure you must be quite tired by now.

Glad your daughter’s op has come through Jax hope all goes smoothly.

Lovely to see you in the kitchen Bellanonna.

The weather has been putrid here all day, blowing a gale with snow and sleet. Still sleeting now but no overnight frost forecast so hopefully no icy pavements tomorrow. I’m not going to sleep well tonight with the wind howling like this, I’ll snuggle down and just be thankful I’m not at sea. TOYA.

Urmstongran Thu 09-Mar-23 20:33:53

It is peli! I’ve just poured myself a mini cava. 😁

peli Thu 09-Mar-23 20:32:18

SueDonim: You'll sleep soundly tonite I'm sure, & then a fresh start to enjoy yr family & yr visit!

Jaxjacky: I hope yr daughters' procedure goes well & heals quickly!

Urms: sounds like the perfect nite to snuggle up w/ a film & a little treat! ❄️

I went past this pretty corner of roses earlier...it was a morning of dull errands, but then a pedi later, & now I'm going to relax w/ a 🍹. I hope everyone in the kitchen has a restful evg too!

Bellanonna Thu 09-Mar-23 20:19:56

Dear soop, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. Can your stoma nurse help to sort out the problem ? You might need to insist a bit. You’ve been putting up with a lot of discomfort for ages. Maybe a call to the GP would be in order too? It’ll. be Friday, and nearly the weekend so do please try to get some help for yourself. 🌹🌹🌹

Urmstongran Thu 09-Mar-23 20:11:46

Apologies SueDonim I meant to give you a shout out. I’m sure your heart is bursting with love at seeing your son. I can imagine it will have been a pretty emotional reunion. He will be glad you are over. I hope you all get encouraging news about his progress while you are there. x

Jaxjacky Thu 09-Mar-23 20:07:23

I hope you’ve recovered soop.
Must be comforting to be there SueD, how long will he be there for?
Lots of medical matters today. My daughter got the call at lunchtime, she’s in for her hand op tomorrow, I’ve to get her there for 7:30am. So,all three are here tonight, when I’ve dropped her, home to get the children to school, very quick from her Monday consultation, hurrah NHS.
Enjoy your evening all.

Urmstongran Thu 09-Mar-23 20:06:05

‘Evening All’

It’s so cold out tonight, that wind is bitter and cuts right through. We’ve eaten. Himself is about to watch Man. Utd -v- some Spanish team. He must be a glutton for punishment after their thrashing by Liverpool is all I can say. The ground is only in Stretford round the corner from my stepfather’s house and Himself just popped his head round the door now to say to me “you should see the snow coming down at Old Trafford!”. Weird when it’s only 10 minutes drive up the road. Bet we cop for it tonight as it is so cold out. I can hear the wind howling. Brr!

I’m about to find a film to watch. Netflix or Sky.

Our youngest daughter just texted me “home at last!” it’s been Parents Evening. A long day for her. She will be shattered but I’d bathed L’il Miss after I’d given her some tea earlier. Obviously her dad will have her in bed now anyway. The Boy Wonder got a shower after his football training. When he came in his cheeks and ears were freezing! Good job the boys wear thermal thin ‘base layers’ now under their kit.

Oh soop I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been sick today. And having stoma problems too. You must be feeling pretty rotten and fed up of it all. I hope you feel better tomorrow dear lady. x

peli Thu 09-Mar-23 19:29:33

Are you feeling any better yet Soop?💐
I hope it's all settled down soon!

SueDonim Thu 09-Mar-23 19:29:26

I hope you feel better soon, Soop. flowers

V brief check in from me. Arrived at my ds’s late last night then up at 6:30 to accompany him to hospital for his latest treatment. Ds2 and I are playing tag with keeping him company and having a break. Have been here six hours, another four to go, I think.

It’s not as scary here as I’d imagined. It’s more like a hotel than a hospital, carpets in public areas, comfy chairs and coffee tables etc. The staff are kind and make it all seem a very ordinary thing to do, which is soothing to the spirits.

Off to find coffee now - my body thinks it’s early evening though my watch says early afternoon!

Charleygirl5 Thu 09-Mar-23 19:12:29

I am so sorry to hear you are having serious problems with your stoma and being sick does not exactly help. Please get as much rest as possible and an early night.

Have you been in touch with your lovely GP?

Grannmarie Thu 09-Mar-23 18:49:44

Aww, Soop, what a shame. Sickness knocks the stuffing out of you and leaves you weak. Hoping and praying that you feel a bit better very soon. 💕🙏

Nannytopsy Thu 09-Mar-23 18:32:41

Sorry you are feeling rough soop. I hope you get sorted soon 🌻

cornergran Thu 09-Mar-23 18:28:27

GrannyGravy13 Thu 09-Mar-23 17:01:23

Hope you feel better soon soop (((hugs)))

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 09-Mar-23 16:05:16

Oh dear Soop. I hope you feel better soon and get sorted out pdq.

soop Thu 09-Mar-23 15:43:29

Dear you lovely lot. I awoke feeling rough. Was sick on two occasions. Haven't done much of note since. Friend would like me to do a painting of her much-loved, now deceased Collie. A mate of Pip whom I painted a short time ago.

The stoma is needing serious attention. A pal may call by this afternoon. I have to deal with matters right this minute.

All of you. Please take good care of yourselves. smile moon
