Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Wyllow has our weather bang to rights - certainly blowing a bit! I slept very well last night, but woke up lying on the new hip which was uncomfortable! I will get a look at my car today. It has been on its holidays while I have been unable to drive it, but son in law will bring it over today to see how I get on with it now. If getting in and out is going to be an issue I may have to do some soul searching.
Whitewave a very Happy Birthday to you! 1946 was a very good year!🎂🎁
Wyllow good look with the consultant! Wellies? At three o’clock in the morning?? Goodness, Lady, what were you thinking?😂
Have a good day folks.

Good morning from East Yorkshire.

Still in bed and feeling very tired.

More sorting of the house today. For me it’s sorting through items that were boxed up. DH is having a long slog through his office stuff which IMO is long overdue anyway.
He also has to take the car back after the MOT. The damage is 4 new tyres and another issue. About £800 oh joy.

Happy Birthday Whitewave enjoy your day 💐

Wyllow3 Wed 01-Feb-23 08:19:59

Greyduster, I was thinking "I can't stand that wretched shed door banging all night!

Alygran Wed 01-Feb-23 08:20:47

Good morning from North Yorkshire. More clear skies and blustery winds.
Happy birthday WW
Mixed news on appointments and health today. My referral to ophthalmology last December seems to have disappeared into thin air. I must chase it up.
Another charity event today, coffee and chat then relaxation yoga.
Wishing you all a good day.

dragonfly46 Wed 01-Feb-23 08:21:59

Good morning from a brightish Leicestershire.

Couldn’t sleep last night due to restless legs. Must have been all the walking I did yesterday.
Not much planned today, just Ocado delivery and a trip to Sainsburys to change the Soda stream bottles. My DH drinks gallons of fizzy water.

Happy Birthday Whitewave.
So sorry to hear about the worries so many have. Peace of mind is a precious thing as we get older.

Greyduster Wed 01-Feb-23 08:22:56

I’d have just stuffed cotton wool in my ears! But Respect!😁

Urmstongran Wed 01-Feb-23 08:25:07

Whoosh! And January is gone. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown since Christmas.
Back in a bit phone ringing.

brook2704 Wed 01-Feb-23 08:25:25

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy with some rain or sleet in the forecast
Happy Birthday whitewave have a lovely lunch and enjoy your walk! 💐🎂🎉🍷
Today I’m off to the gym for a couple of classes and a dip in the lovely warm pool. After that I’ll be ready for a coffee and a bite to eat with my friend and a nice long catch up on her news. I’ll be out most of the day, DH will be sorting out the boiler man who didn’t show up on Monday.
Hope all goes well today wyllow and everyone else with appointments and checks or not feeling so good
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Urmstongran Wed 01-Feb-23 08:40:59

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. Goodness it was wild and woolly during the night. We have no need to go anywhere today so I think we might just hunker down. I bought some daffodils yesterday and they look so cheery - reminds me that spring is on its way, plus the days are lengthening now.

GrannySomerset Wed 01-Feb-23 08:41:36

Two burly young men are banging loudly on the roof so removal of now irrelevant chimney stack and repairs to roof are under way. Hope the weather will allow the work to be completed this week but am grateful the job has started (I think!).

Otherwise singing this afternoon and history society tonight so plan a not too busy morning.

Jaxjacky Wed 01-Feb-23 08:42:06

Good morning from a clear sky in S Hampshire. Happy Birthday Whitewave 🎂🎉🎈.
Best of luck with your appointment Wyllow.
I have some chasing up to do today, so annoying when things don’t work properly. My butcher friend is dropping in some ham hocks later, one will be frozen, one in the slow cooker with some apple juice and plenty of veg.
Enjoy your day if you can 🦩🦩

EkwaNimitee Wed 01-Feb-23 08:45:59

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright but windy Carlisle.
Happy Birthday, whitewave, enjoy the day!

Yesterday was showery so it was an inside day. I contacted my usual travel insurer to get my cruise holiday covered. Shocked by the quote! I then spent ages filling in tedious online forms to see if I could get a better result. Various companies claim to provide cruise insurance but it seems they only want to do the cheaper cruises. I am more or less resigned to paying out to my original choice but will try one or two more companies later. I suppose this is what you must expect when you are in your seventies and have various chronic but mild conditions.
Other than that, a bit of housework beckons, maybe a little de-cluttering and making a start on one of my unread books.

Have a good day, all.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 01-Feb-23 08:51:09

Oops that went too quickly. Taking a trip to Ripon this morning, taking the lawnmower in for a service on the way, and get the pruners sharpened, so they will be ready for the gardening weather.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone and Happy White Rabbits Day from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, 5° outside. Can't believe it is February!

Had a lovely walk health walk yesterday afternoon in the sunshine followed by coffee and chat afterwards. Then accompanied a friend to the carwash - what an exciting life I lead!

Shall Hoover round upstairs this morning and do the stairs as well. Yesterday's bedding is in the machine and I shall hang it out today for a good blow.
This afternoon I shall venture out with my knitting to the Well-being Cafe, first time I have been since before Christmas.

Happy birthday White Wave. 🎂 🎂h
Have a good day everyone.

luluaugust Wed 01-Feb-23 09:03:06

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Quiet morning, a tidy round and some ironing. Meeting DF for a cup of tea later, she is in the process of buying and selling her house and would sympathise with you gM over the form filling, she has spent hours trying to figure it all out.
Happy Birthday Whitewave enjoy your meal out.
Best wishes to all, particularly those going to or waiting for appointments.

Urmstongran Wed 01-Feb-23 09:06:35

Wyllow3

*Greyduster*, I was thinking "I can't stand that wretched shed door banging all night!

Your neighbours will likely have been glad too Wyllow!
I hope your hospital appointment gives you some degree of reassurance today.

And many happy returns of the day to you Whitewave. Enjoy your birthday lunch and may the wind be at your back for your walk afterwards! 😊

Good morning from Glasgow. A brighter day today with a beautiful sunrise, calmer but damp after yesterday’s deluge.

Happy birthday WW 🎂. Enjoy your special day, it sounds perfect.
It is also DD2’s 45th birthday today, it wasn’t possible to send a card or gift as Royal Mail has only just started to deal with a huge backlog due to the cyber attack….I finally mastered Moon Pig, all done and dusted in minutes.
Good luck for today Wyllow, sincerely hoping all goes well for you.
GD2 (13) had a pre op video call yesterday for removal of her adenoids next Wednesday. It’s an easy OP but I will be glad when it’s over.

I am meeting up for coffee with two friends later. Lots of blethering and many laughs…the best medicine.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 01-Feb-23 09:16:59

It is so cheery to have so many happy returns🙂. Thank you one and all.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 01-Feb-23 09:18:29

It is blimmin’ freezing out - just come back from walking the dog.

Snow forecast by BBC in South next week😮. There I was thinking spring was beginning to sprung!

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 01-Feb-23 09:26:35

Morning from a breezy Co Durham.
I’ve great sympathy with everyone doing paperwork. Last August DH and I started doing LPAs for us both. A friend who was acting as witness is good at paperwork so everything was checked and rechecked. Last week one of DH’s was returned as ‘signed in the wrong order’ and a new one must be prepared and another Registration fee paid. The other one was deemed as Registered. No sign at all of my two!! As they were all cross checked at the time and were identical I’m totally at a loss. Guess it’s back to the drawing board with my friend’s help. Difficult, as one DD lives miles away and her signature is necessary.
Happy Birthday Wwm. Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.

gillgran Wed 01-Feb-23 09:31:03

Good Morning to you all from a bright & breezy N., Cambs.,

Happy Birthday Whitewavemark2, Enjoy your special day, cupcake wine. 1946 was indeed a very good year! wink

Good luck with your appointment wyllow.

Warm wishes to all feeling poorly.

Taichinan Wed 01-Feb-23 09:35:29

Good morning all and a very happy February 1st! It's another lovely morning here with a sense that Spring can't be far away. I always dread January but this year the weather has been exceptionally good here which meant I didn't drown in the depths of despair as I usually do.
Happy Birthday whitewave. 1946 was obviously a very good vintage year as my late DH was born on 29th January. He died at 48 (courtesy of a wayward lorry driver) and I find it hard to imagine him at 77!
I'd have been out in my wellies right there with you Wyllow - once you start hearing a noise like that in the night it has to be stopped!
Sorry to hear the bad and sad bits of news this morning - flowers - but progress with appointments, roofs and ceilings, not to mention house sales, is good to note.
My excitement to day is an appointment to see the dermatologist at a small hospital a lovely country drive away. There have been mutterings of its closure on not a few occasions, but it serves a very large rural area and must take quite a bit of pressure off the huge teaching hospital in the city (not to mention its parking!)
I had a lovely long lunch and chat with my niece yesterday. I'll not see her again until April as she's off soon to visit her daughter and family in LA, lucky lady - it'll be some catch-up next time!
Have a good day everyone x

Taichinan Wed 01-Feb-23 09:39:34

Whitewave I always think the the good thing about bad weather at this time of year is that you know it can't last forever and that Spring can't be far away - fingers crossed!
