I live at No. 13 and am very happy here. It never occurred to me when I bought it!

rafichagran Wed 08-Feb-23 13:04:10

No, not at all.

MiniMoon Wed 08-Feb-23 13:01:51

I grew up at No. 13. It didn't bother me in the slightest.

It wouldn't bother me at all. I am a scientist and a realist, how can a number possibly bring bad luck?

I have a superstitious friend whom I saw at a petrol station waiting in the queue but she refused to use pump 13 when it became vacant. Crazy!

Not bothered. My only concern about buying a house number 13 would be in case it put some buyers off if we ever wanted to sell. Friday 13th was lucky for us.

I like to think that I am educated rather than superstitious.

I lived at number 13, a year later I was a single mother. However, I also live on the 13th floor and lived through an earthquake but it wasn’t at the epicenter.

No. I wouldn't care.
Maybe some would.

We’ve lived in No 13. A lovely house and we enjoyed living there.

Yes, 25Avalon, our guest the other day said she’d known of more than one 11A (even numbers on the other side of the road).

25Avalon Wed 08-Feb-23 10:57:33

I’ve seen houses labelled 12A rather than 13.

It wouldn't bother me.
We got quoted "Change the name and not the letter change for worse and not for better." Well, I did it and two cousins and an aunt. We have all been happy. The only thing I probably would not do is walk under a ladder and that would be for safety's sake.

No concern for me had it been an option.

Sparklefizz Wed 08-Feb-23 10:46:18

Friday 13th has always been lucky for me.
I once lived at no. 13 and was very happy there.
I have lived in my present house for 26 years and it was my 13th house move.
I have a much-loved cat and she is the 13th cat I have had in my life.

It wouldn't bother be at all

My DD lived in number 13 and was very happy there. My GS spent his first years in that house.
I think these days people aren't as superstitious as they were.
I have seen streets where there was no number 13.

TerriBull Wed 08-Feb-23 10:39:03

I'm not sure it would bother me in the context of a house number, Such a ridiculous premise I know, but Friday 13th does resonate depending on what I'm planning, I'd never fly on Friday 13th for example, outside of that nonsense superstition, I tend to regard it as just another number

Oldnproud Wed 08-Feb-23 10:38:17

It wouldn't bother me.

Ours is no. 13, and I hardly ever give it a thought, but a guest remarked on it the other day.

When we bought it, in 1977, neither dh nor I even gave it a thought, and it’s been a happy house for us.

Would it put you off, or do you know anyone who wouldn’t touch it? We’re not thinking of selling (I hope that’ll only happen after we’re gone) but I’ve been wondering whether it’ll eventually reduce the price a bit, or make it harder to sell.
