I loved the Walker Brothers Make it Easy on Yourself.

I love Make it Easy in Yourself, but I had no idea it was Bacharach & David. I was going to say I Say A Little Prayer

This evening on bbc4 at 8pm a programme featuring Bacharach and David's songs

Oh gosh so many great songs. Dionne Warwick singing "Walk on By" not necessarily his best song but one which so suited a broken teenage heart. RIP Burt

My favourite song is This Guy's in love with you. I'd never heard Sammy Davis Junior's version, only Herb Albert's.
Such wonderful, melodic songs. We know all the words and can sing along. What talented performers, many no longer with us.

I don’t think there is a single Burt Bacharach composition I don’t love. So hard to pick a favourite but Alfie is certainly up there.
I think Cilla had to have about thirty attempts when she was recording that song, before Burt was satisfied!
He was after perfection.

Ooooooh another programme this evening Saturday bbc2 at 10pm BB his life in music includes an interview with him and more recent singers singing his songs

This morning's Sounds of the Sixties with Tony Blackburn is playing lots of BB songs, I've got it on BBC Sounds just now cos it's on too early for me at 6am.

I've got one! It must be the only one though. I adored them all as much as anyone else, but I never liked the words for Wishin' and Hopin' and they're not very good advice for a young teenage girl which I was at the time.

I heard Sammy Davis Jnr slaughtering a song recently, one that I loved, maybe it was that one I'm not sure. Whatever it was, he jazzed it up with a beat and made it very 'catchy' and I hated it. I really don't like his style.
