Good Morning Everyone,
A dark start here in brackley this morning ,and looks dry outside .
Yesterday, I just did a local shop as the cold air was effecting myself .
Today I hope to go Bicester on the bus ,and do a normal Saturday routine .
I also booked a coach trip for later in the year for ABBA Voyage in London taking place in Olympic Park.
Take Care,
Mick

Beechnut That’s one clever dog! 😂 We were looking at the Stressless sofas - in particular the ‘Fiona’ one. All the cushions are stitched together so not able to be removed easily … unless DDog chews his way through! 😱 That could be one expensive purchase!!

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Art session yesterday but didn’t enjoy it as it was painting on silk, not my thing. I find the guttering difficult with my lymph node free gammy arm.
DS came last night and set to setting up my new tv. Nothing is straightforward anymore. He had arranged loudspeakers next to my chair for the old one, a great help, but doesn’t know how he will do it for this..
He cooked a delicious pork casserole. As I hardly bother cooking very much for one, it was very much appreciated.

FaceTime with DD in the south who is very stressed with all the problems selling her flat here. She has dropped the price, but the buyer, solicitor and property management company are all making progress impossible. I really feel for her. On top of that, she had just returned from a tiring long hall flight, has been promoted to management with a training course and is due to have a suspicious mole removed. Life eh?
Hope your eyes settle down grandMattie and wishing everyone a good weekend.

Good morning from West York's it's 7 degrees ,had a phone call with muscular skeleton physio regarding hip,I have a spur which along with hip bone is pinching nerves etc, another x-ray then plan to sort meanwhile keep taking painkillers. Gs has just ring to see if we want to go to park with ducks there are plenty of seats so I will get some fresh air .

Beechnut Sat 11-Feb-23 09:38:56

SunshineSally my daughter had a sofa with a big gap and once when her dog got his toys ‘lost’ under it she came home to find he had pulled the seat cushions off to see if he could get them out that way. 🤣🤣

Good morning from a dull Co Armagh
Yesterdays painting class was fun , we do our own painting , the teacher is lovely , she manages to come round and give every person her undivided attention , we have a coffee break , then back to work (?) !
I made lunch when I came home , but I think I had too many potatoes ! I hardly moved for the rest of the day ,
I might float around with a duster today if the sun shows me where my ministrations are needed , maybe it will motivate me to move more !
gandmattie I was told a face cloth wrung out it very hot water , and held on my closed eyes was good for dry eyes , I use those drops too , but I’m very forgetful in their use

Good morning from a grey W Kent. I intend to do some batch cooking today and after that who knows.
I find the Hycosan extra drops very good after the optician diagnosed dry eyes. Strangely we are waiting for my brother to have his appointment for something going on with his eyes, a bit of a worry as he lives far away on his own, should know soon.
Best wishes to all

Good morning all. Nothing to report from the Angus coast - where it's 9° and struggling to be sunny. After a glorious long night's sleep the night before my body decided that enough was enough and refused to let me have any shut eye at all last night, so I shall be good for nothing today! I wish I could get off this particular merry-go-round! However lovely gardener will be here with his grandson shortly, and I must pay him, and I have some smoked fish to make a fish soup which is not unlike Cullen Skink, so I must get a move on.
I'll be back to read the posts later, but meanwhile wish everyone a lovely family weekend and relief from all pesky ailments. Take care x

Good morning all from a cloudy south Hants where my morning so far has been lazy! DH bought me a coffee so I’m still in bed 😱 whilst he’s up with the larks and full of beans. Am hoping he’s put some of his ‘beans’ in my coffee so it has the same effect!
We think we’ve found the sofa for our dining room - only thing is, there is a 4 inch gap underneath and I’m wondering how much time will be spent on my hands and knees retrieving DDog’s balls (his favourite toys!). So another trip to Bradbeer’s next week to see if there’s an alternative.
Lovely evening spent with friend at a local Chinese restaurant 😋 and very tasty it was too.
Not much planned for today other than dog walking and usual household cleaning. I do need to get my hair trimmed - but will resort to my bobble hat if I’m going out. DH bought me some flowers yesterday, getting in early for Valentines Day love him 🥰.
Right then - I MUST get up and dressed.
Have the best day you can folks. Thinking of those that are poorly 🦩🦩🦩. Hope you all have a smile and some sunshine in your day 🤗🌻🌻🌻🤗 x

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very mild this morning.
I was awake at 3.30 so came down and made some tea. There was a lovely clear starry sky and bright moon. Managed to get back to sleep till 7.
Charity admin today.
Sounds like lots of family visits are happening. Enjoy.

harrigran Sat 11-Feb-23 09:02:42

Good morning from a dry but windy NE where it is 8 degrees.
Did some cleaning of windows and mirrors and pushed the vacuum around downstairs, this morning I have a sore back again.
Last night I had a vegetarian no fish fillet and chips for dinner, delicious, served with carrots and green beans.
Family coming this afternoon and tonight we are going out to dinner at a restaurant on the riverside above the fish quay so lots of fresh fish to choose from.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning all from a bright skied East Yorkshire.

The workmen who were here yesterday to plaster after rewiring were 2 very friendly men, clean and tidy. They might be useful for recommending future work required.
At my appt with the hygienist I was £39 in credit but still had to pay £14. She was new to me and very thorough.

More cleaning up today, food shop and then who knows!

Will catch up with everyone as day now .

Grammaretto Sat 11-Feb-23 08:59:14

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I've been out to pick flowers for the tables at our community café. Mostly snowdrops and greenery. The garden was full of birdsong so they think it's Spring even if the forecasters aren't sure
My cake has sunk in the middle again so will not be fit for public consumption.
DMiL is being brought over on the bus which will stop them going stir crazy. She and her DS are still not back in the house.

I hope the birthday party goes well Marydoll with no nosebleeds or pain to spoil it.

I love it when the younger generation take over my kitchen. I must be the exact opposite of you. I only wish they would!

I wish everyone a lovely weekend.

Gingster Sat 11-Feb-23 08:56:16

Good morning all and it feels milder, thank goodness.

Dh cleared out our fridge freezer and de-iced it, put the drawers back and now two of the drawers are stuck fast and can’t be opened. The glass shelf has dropped and lodged it just won’t move .
Grrrr! We spent an hour trying to release it. No luck. I don’t know what we’ll do or who can help!

Dd and little gd will come here for lunch after her dancing classes. We might do some of her painting by numbers, although it does look rather tricky for a 7 yr old.

Have a lovely family day MD. Don’t be tempted to take over. I know the feeling! 😬.

Hope you all have a pleasant day.

Stilllearning Sat 11-Feb-23 08:55:03

Another good morning from South Lanarkshire, as usual very chilly here.

I had a lovely visit with my friend in Kirkcaldy and thought about you Marydoll both ways while crossing the Forth rail bridge. I still find it exciting, turning my head from side to side to see both the view out to sea and the two road bridges!

Today lunch with two friends in a restaurant we met in for many years but which seemed to lose interest in individual diners when it changed hands and the new owners began to concentrate on weddings. It is in a lovely setting and we missed our rendezvous there but they now take individual bookings at weekends and we have heard good things about it again so fingers crossed.

Sympathy to all the sufferers from eye problems, they are indeed very trying and I hope you find a solution grandMattie and others.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bright Hull. Not a bad week coming up with plenty of sunshine.

We had a busy day yesterday with the girls. DGDs chicken pox are feeling better as her mum has bought a lovely cooling spray and her baths have oils and bicarb of soda in so it’s helping immensely. She played solidly yesterday tiring us out. Baby B was a delight and is almost fully walking. We stayed at DDs till later as DH bought an Indian takeaway which was appreciated. She’s relying heavily on our help and her in laws who are amazing with son in law working away. Her in laws always say DD is the daughter they never had which is lovely and are always around for her to help when they can.

Marydoll so sorry to hear about your awful day yesterday. Take it easy and be waited on and enjoy being surrounded by family today💐

Have a lovely day everyone enjoy your family and friend activities. Virtual hugs to those worried about family illness and stress.🌻🌻

GrannySomerset Sat 11-Feb-23 08:47:51

Today is a blank canvas so I will change my bed and then settle down to some fairly serious reading for discussions next week. The weather is grey and quiet so I am not tempted by the garden though it does look rather sad after such heavy frosts. I do need something to look forward to so I need to get myself into planning mode, but it isn’t easy.

Urmstongran Sat 11-Feb-23 08:42:30

NoMatt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. So many early birds on here just lately! I’d never get a worm these days.

It’s dry out and seems mild enough, no frost, no sun. I’ve just weighed myself and I’ve dropped another 1lb. Happy Days! That’s 20lbs in total now. (Even after eating enough liver, bacon and mash to satisfy Desperate Dan on Thursday night!).

We are babysitting tonight so will go over about 6pm. Mum’s not daft - she scoots out before their bedtimes and they go for a couple of drinks before their curry. Don’t blame them! It’s the start of half term here in Trafford so I expect we’ll be seeing more of the Boy Wonder & L’il Miss next week.
😊

Enjoy Saturday if you can. My sister made me laugh this morning. She calls this ‘in between’ weather ‘onion days’ as she layers up in a morning and peels layers off during the day when the sun appears, before layering up again at dusk. Ha!

ginny Sat 11-Feb-23 08:40:03

Good morning, no frost this morning so maybe a warmer day.
Some food shopping to do and then we have to pop our next door neighbour down to the opticians.
This afternoon I must ice some cakes and make vienesse whirls ready for tomorrow.
Also need to finish painting a couple of birthday cards.
Hoping for a more comfortable day for those with medical problems a a little bit of sunshine for all.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 11-Feb-23 08:36:09

Llfl your OH might benefit from a supplement of Rutin for restless legs. I’ve given it to my DH for years and it works

Beechnut Sat 11-Feb-23 08:32:01

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It looks a bit damp out.

Pottering and ironing today. Not that there is much. Certain good morningers 🤣have been making my mouth water so I’m joining in with the liver, bacon and onions later. It’s been an age since I did that for a meal.

I haven’t read anything yet so will go back and do that with my first cuppa. I

Enjoy your Saturday 💐

BlueSapphire Sat 11-Feb-23 08:24:08

Good morning everyone from a frost-free, slightly overcast Northampton. Feeling almost pain-free this morning as well, my back is much better, but just taken pain-killers just in case.

Off on the.bus again today; am meeting DD at Rushden Lakes retail park, and we shall have a browse around the shops and some lunch out. Hoping to find what I want today!

Wishing all a pleasant weekend.

baubles Sat 11-Feb-23 08:22:20

Good morning all from dreich South Lanarkshire.

I’m running very late for work so I’ll pop back this evening to catch up.

Have the best day possible everyone.

monk08 Sat 11-Feb-23 08:19:27

Good morning all from an overcast but warmer Black country already its 8°.
Need to pick up DH prescription and then a quiet day until our friends arrive later.
Will read through later as its that time of the week again were the full English calls.
Enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Grandmabatty Sat 11-Feb-23 08:18:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Marydoll could the nosebleed be connected to blood pressure? Grandmattie hopefully the pharmacist will have sorted out your eye problem. Susan a busy busy day for you.
Yesterday I went to Aldi then a chiropodist appointment. She's identified that I have reduced sensation in my feet which I have suspected for some time. It's one of the symptoms of diabetes which I've had for fifteen years. I will have to be very careful with my feet. I did some clearing out of knick knacks and books. I am not an ornament lover but one friend in particular always buys me them for birthdays. Yesterday I was ruthless! It's the next stage in my Swedish death clean. I have got rid of books too. I had quiche, coleslaw and sweet potato fries for dinner, all homemade.
Today I'm meeting another friend for breakfast. I haven't seen her for a couple of months so there will be copious catching up ahead. We're meeting at my local garden centre which does lovely meals. Then, after I drop her home, I'll get on with the usual Saturday housework. Quiche and salad for dinner tonight. Have a good day all.

Liberty Sat 11-Feb-23 08:18:22

Good morning from a ‘nothing’ looking day but at least it’s 6’ according to my weather App.

Off to the Farmers’ Market shortly held in our local market town where I shall probably buy more bread than we should eat. Our favourite is Black Dog which is very moist( addition of black treacle I think) but not sweet. It is very popular and sells out within 30 mins of opening time. You can reserve it but I never remember.

Not sure what else is happening today, apart from Black Dog bread and cheese for lunch.

Hope today is the best it can be for all.
