Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s very still and dull.

This morning I have yoga and DGS for the afternoon. It’s good it’s dry as I expect we will be out in the garden for most of the afternoon. DH cut the grass yesterday it was quite long after the winter.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy and mild. The Sunday Lunch Club was great fun yesterday. Everyone enjoyed themselves. It’s a nice change for those on their own.
This morning it’s Striders and Strollers, another village social initiative. I think we’ll be walking about 5 miles.

Good morning, all, from a fine and dry Portsmouth City Centre Travelodge which is not the one we booked!

After a smooth crossing on a ship only half full, we docked early and we were at our hotel (two minutes’ away) before 10pm to be told that our room wasn’t available but they’d booked us in to the City Centre TL. They had rung and left a voicemail on my phone which I had planned to listen to once we had checked in as nothing indicated it was Travelodge! In any case, no reception mid Channel!

I was devastated and not reassured by the receptionist’s claim that it wasn’t far. DH took over the driving as I was beyond coping. If only she’d sent a text, we could have planned for finding the place.

An hour later, after travelling some stretches four times, we found the place, before which DH had offered to drive back to Torquay. There was no immediate indication of where to park but we were advised by phone to park in the church car park and payment would be taken at the hotel. (£5)

On checking in, we were offered a compensatory drink but on hearing our sorry tale (I threw in convalescing from heart surgery for good measure!!) they upgraded this to a free breakfast this morning.

The room is cramped (sleeps four!) and cold. It has reverse A/C heating which isn’t working, despite us setting it on 25!! DH couldn’t sleep initially for being cold!

Then I read the poignant post from Megs36 which puts things in perspective. Condolences to you, dear lady.

I had a very good time out in the garden for a few hours yesterday ticking off a few jobs on my list. I might carry on today. I have a very rotten tree trunk that needs to be cut down. I shall probably get some help with that. I noticed a few more snowdrops have appeared.

Off to pick up my prescription later and post a card.

Monday walk this morning with my group. Then this afternoon I plan to clean the windows and upvc at the front outside. Snowdrops are in abundance in our garden too.

Seems it is half term in many places. Here it will be next week, much to DD's relief!

We had a relaxing day yesterday spent reading my book and catching up on a couple of TV programmes.DH the old romantic went out to post a couple of letters and came back with roses for me and then in the evening made one of my favourite meals❤️

We have childcare every day this week then next week a free week!As it’s not half term for any of the grandchildren it’s not all long days.We will pick H up from nursery at 3.Miss M has a play date after school.Her friends mum will take her to ballet class then drop her home later.

Mary I hope you can speak to a dr.I read last week that Tesco are going to be offering blood pressure tests as people are ‘deprioritising’ their health.I said to DD people are not deprioritising their health, we are probably worrying more than ever as we can’t speak/see a dr and there is no follow up.

Good morning everyone, I’m still in bed but the weather is set to be cool but dry and quiet. Got a hygienist appointment this morning so must get up, I dread the dentist but must be done. Then housework, bed changed, washing etc. enjoy your day if you can everyone.

MD - our tumble dryer caught fire years ago! I never put appliances on over night.

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is currently 3°C. However, a sunny day is forecast, so the bed will be stripped and washing put out.

I need to phone my GP at 8am, but will probably be 100th in the queue!
I've had a dreadful night and day yesterday, with the side effects from my new meds getting progressively more severe. I'm between a rock and a hard place, as I have been advised not to stop them, without speaking to a doctor first.
For the first time in years, I can see no light at the end of tunnel. I always have hope expect things to settle down.

We have wee Dollie for a couple of hours today, due to it being half term and her mummy having to work.
That should cheer me up.

I noted some of you put your washing on at night, is it cheaper at night? Just curious.
Messages from the Scottish Fire Rescue service keep popping up on my tablet, advising not to, for safety reasons.
The house of a former pupil of mine was destroyed, when the dishwasher went on fire during the night. I've never left an appliance on overnight since. I'm now too scared.

All this talk of gardens is making me envious. I'm desperate to get out and tidy up. My strawberry plants have already come back and I need to deal with my frost damaged hydrangeas.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s 4 degrees and will get up to 10 today.

I have a hair appt at the ungodly time of 9. Need to be up and out early. These days I like to potter in my own time in a morning. I’m having the whole works roots,cut and a blow dry. We were due to have the GC this afternoon but I got a text yesterday saying they both have a sickness bug poor mites. Looks like it’s doing the rounds. Checking in the evening DIL has it and DS wasn’t feeling too good either. Not good timing for half term.

Walking both Cavapoos is first on the agenda as per, then a relaxed breakfast, and as I'm long retired, no need to join the growing rush hour. Planning a leisurely visit to our local garden centre when it opens at 10 a.m., with a pot of tea and a fresh-baked cheese scone as a mid-morning treat. Spinning alpaca in the evening and some knitting. An easy day, I have soups and salad foods in the fridge. I was standing a lot yesterday and did a lot, food prep, batch cooking, washing, window cleaning outside. I do have sewing to finish, would be good to finish that top this afternoon and maybe read in the sun on my sheltered patio

I’m the same glammagran regards waking up. Once I’m awake I find it difficult to drift back off, so my morning starts are variable.

An early Good morning everyone from south Manchester where naturally it’s pitch black at this ungodly hour. I can’t see any frost and it’s still out there.

I’ve things on my mind. The car needs a new clutch - it keeps slipping so Himself is going to drive it up the road to the garage this morning and see if he can book it in this week sometime. We are going over to see our Yorkshire Lass tomorrow and picking my stepfather up en route. I think that’s why it’s playing on my mind.

Oh the train into Liverpool Lime Street has just pulled in on Platform 2, lit up like a Christmas tree in the dark.

Also, I’ve been taking part as a volunteer in some research project into breast cancer. I had a lengthy questionnaire to fill out and sent a sputum test off months ago for DNA testing. The samples go to France for testing apparently as this is an EU/UK initiative. I get my results on line this morning telling me whether my risk factor is high, average or low and a doctor is ringing me this afternoon to discuss them and any screening plans going forward.

Other than that it’s half term this week for our littlies so doubtless we shall see them at some point today - to take them to their swimming lessons if nothing else!

Housework day today. House is still a muddle but hopefully this week will finally see an end to it all and back to normal.

I’m going to try to finish mulching a bed today as well, before I put on the decorative bark. My effort to counteract any possible drought.

Rib-eye, chips and salad for dinner - something quick because it is a busy day.

Morning all from a mild West Oxfordshire. I will be up shortly as the decorators should be here at 8 am. Once they are settled I will do a Waitrose shop. Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton, -1° and dry outside. Feels really chilly indoors. Up early because it's yoga class first thing, and then I shall have a 15 minute walk across to the pub for a coffee and Knit and Natter.

Had a quiet day at home yesterday, doing nothing but read the papers and watch tv. It felt a very looong day. Tried on the clothes I bought on Saturday, and they are fine thank goodness; although I might try a size up in the long skirt, which might be a bit more comfortable.

Will do some gentle tidying after this morning's exertions, then carry on with my book club read after lunch, half way through it now.
