So long as within GN rules, post what you like!
About whatever subject you like!
No thread police or bossiness or pedantics here! Here's hoping.

I am being a bit tongue in cheek.
But I for one am geuinely interested in hearing what others are thinking.

So go for it on here!
Within GN rules of course.

No idea how the thread will go. But hey ho.
If no one posts, nothing lost.
I will have learnt that this type of thread is not needed.

I’m hopeless at pancakes, we just buy some Scotch pancakes and have them buttered!

Oreo Wed 22-Feb-23 20:40:10

I had pancakes today in a cafe, with maple syrup.Awful.
The syrup was fine tho.
Did anyone see the pic of the princess of wales tossing what should have been a pancake?😄

We can post about anything? Well for the next 40 days I've sworn to give up eating after our evening meal. It's day 1, only an hour since we ate and I'm already pining for crisps. I'll have a glass of iced water and polish my halo to take my mind off it.

BlueBelle Wed 22-Feb-23 20:44:08

Why Maggie that sounds like hell ?

Oreo Wed 22-Feb-23 21:05:52

I always try to do that MaggieMaybe only water or tea in the evenings after the meal. It’s amazing how easy it becomes after a while and keeps off those extra calories.

Wyllow3 Wed 22-Feb-23 21:09:59

what no glass of wine?

Galaxy Wed 22-Feb-23 21:13:54

I can offer support whilst I drink my wine Maggie.

BlueBelle

Why Maggie that sounds like hell ?

It certainly does, no choc or ice cream ? Your halo will be blinding us all after that smile

Wyllow3 Wed 22-Feb-23 21:33:37

Not just wine, but a hot small danish pastry found in the yellow sticker section...wink

Cabbie21 Wed 22-Feb-23 21:49:29

I have just polished off the last piece of Christmas cake! I am always hungry after choir practice.

Maggiemaybe Wed 22-Feb-23 22:23:37

Oh, now, I’m not a saint! I’m not eating in the evening, but I’m not giving up the drink!

It’s a Lent thing, but I’m very much hoping it’ll help shift the extra pounds I put on over Christmas and still haven’t got rid of. smile

I am just not listening to tales of Danish pastries, cake, ice cream and chocolate…..envy

Just got back from a lovely Pacific cruise to the godawful public transport system in Melbourne. Really, really bad and we had to ask fellow passengers to find out that trains were not running and we had to get buses. No communication whatsoever and no one to say where you actually got the bus. However, the Uber system at the other end was fantastic, no waiting, much better than regular mucky taxis.

Oreo Thu 23-Feb-23 08:14:06

For brekkie am having a fried bacon roll and coffee😃

Oreo Thu 23-Feb-23 08:18:06

Have to queue for the bus to work in the rain soon😩☔️💦💦
Buses always late when it rains.

Why after five years of not being allowed alcohol, due to medication contra indications and being told I can now have a small glass of wine, I'm not interested! 😕

Wyllow3 Thu 23-Feb-23 08:35:06

practice makes perfect, Marydoll?

Marydoll Thu 23-Feb-23 09:04:26

I will persevere, Wyllow*! 😉

It’s the fault of Brexit. It’s blamed for every problem going so why not the public transport in Melbourne 😄

henetha Thu 23-Feb-23 10:17:43

I have a serious problem. I am trying to lose weight and not eat cake etc. But I found a Stollen left over from Christmas and still edible as the sell by date is March. Oh the dilemma!
(confession, I ate one slice yesterday)

Aldom Thu 23-Feb-23 10:39:50

Henetha why not work out how many slices the Stollen will cut into, then invite a similar number of friends for coffee /tea? Problem solved, no waste or inches on your waist. grin

henetha Thu 23-Feb-23 10:41:04

What a good plan Aldom. You are right, I must share this cake. Problem solved grin

kircubbin2000 Thu 23-Feb-23 10:43:51

I went down to Lidl to get these £2.50 veg boxes but they were all gone.
I've ordered a new cat ,arriving this evening if the vet oks him. Exciting times.

Sarah75 Thu 23-Feb-23 10:48:55

kirkubbin I read your post as ‘no veg boxes left, so I ordered a cat’ grin

Blossoming Thu 23-Feb-23 11:41:20

So did I Sarah75 grin

I've been surrounded by men all week. Some to cut branches from the trees, some to install fibre and now the gardeners are here.
