Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very chilly South Yorkshire. The sun put in a brief appearance and then changed its mind! I hope it stays dry - DD is running the Stockport half marathon this morning with her friend - I think they’re both mad! I was supposed to go and watch GS play football this morning, but DS and DiL decided to come down today. We were going to go out for lunch but the pub we like is having a new kitchen put in so they are not serving food. I will cook. I haven’t cooked for them for a while. Hopefully we might get out for a short walk.

Lovely evening with friends their son came along to see us and brought the grandchildren whom we hadn't seen since for a while, my how they've grown.
Loving the jumper grandMattie I still have a cardigan I started last March to finish lost my enthusiasm for it after finishing the back and a front, may have to see if DiL will take it on.

DS has just brought me a mug of tea, a rare treat since DH was the morning tea maker. Nothing planned today though will have to rustle up something for lunch before my visitors set off for London later on. I am surprisingly tired after so much talking yesterday and realise how much I miss having someone else in the house.

Hope today brings us all what ever we need and hope for.

Good morning everyone from a very sunny and bright Suffolk. I don’t know how cold it is but it will be lovely to do our dog walk with the sun on our faces.

We have a rookery in the trees surrounding the dell and the rooks have been very busy( and noisy) repairing last years’ nests and building new ones. They are fascinating to watch especially since the largest nest seems to be the one that most want to use to lay their eggs and mid air squabbles can be seen as several try to claim it at the same time.

Sunday is our usual catch up with our children and grandchildren whose busy lives exhaust us just hearing about them. Youngest told us yesterday that she is applying to do an online MA in SEND. She has 2 children,6 and 11 as well as a full time job and a DH who,being a consultant in A&E, works many unsociable hours. But good for her for doing something for herself.

Hope there is is a little sunshine for all today.

Lunch at the golf club after Mass today as DH has to use up the credit on his bar card before the end of the month.

I didn’t do any housework yesterday but I did put some things aside for the charity shop so I’d better shift some dust today.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 2°C. We have sunny spells forecast, so the washing is going out!
For the first time this year, it was me who put out the washing, instead of me. Small steps, but a huge achievement.
I did feel slightly dizzy, but not as bad as I have been.

Mick, if your breathlessness continues, perhaps you should contact your GP, especially as you have surgery coming up. I cannot have a GA for that very reason. There can many reasons for breathlessness.
I agree with Ash, about covering your mouth, to protect yourself from the cold air. DH bought a snood to wear as a scarf at the golf and uses it to cover his mouth, when it is very cold.

Today is DIL 2's, baby shower. I'm a bit apprehensive, in case I feel unwell. I seem to have lost my confidence and have been shunning any social interaction.
All the ladies from the hen do last year will be there, so it will be good to catch up. DIL's sisters were so attentive of me on that occasion, treating me like a queen.
ĎD, DIL1 and my wee Dollie are going, so it will be nice for us to do something together.
We were at a loss what to bring, because I'm wary of gifting before baby is born, and DH and I have already bought the pram, so I made a pamper basket for DIL, with the addition of some token baby things and a bottle of Nozecco.
I chose non baby, spring colours for the basket, rather than pink or blue.
In fact, I wouldn't mind that basket myself! 😉

During my visit to the Range, I picked up new handles for my dining room units. I had been looking for suitable ones for ages.
DH kindly changed all of them, until he got to the last one and snapped the screw, right in the centre of the knob. 🤬
I don't call him Mr Hash and Bash, for nothing!
There was no spare one , ( I miscalculated), so another trip to the Range and Lidl and M&S food is on the cards next week, if I'm well enough! 😉

It was just a dull cloudy day yesterday, so got on with housework. Then read my book in the afternoon. It is by Peter May and is called Lockdown (about London in lockdown because of a flu virus) It was written apparently in 2015 but his publishers said it was an absurd scenario, so didn't publish until 2020! How prophetic was he?

Gym this morning, and will contact my friend to see if she would like to meet for coffee afterwards.

Roast beef tonight, a rare treat.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. I might go for a walk after lunch if it stays fine. First I really must deal with a growing pile of admin, mostly holiday related but it's still not fun. Then, more holiday related action, getting out some summery clothes for my forthcoming holiday. That's another tedious job for me. It should all fit in a smaller rather a larger suitcase but I'm not hopeful. I haven't flown since before covid so must brush up on airport procedures and where to pack what. It was so much easier when we went by car and caravan!

Finally, I shall relax with the papers and I hope you all have a relaxing day too....

Morning from a bright but very cold Dunoon. Very enjoyable day yesterday, beautiful scenery en route to Helensburgh and I purchased a lovely silver and garnet pendant for DGD2’s 18th birthday present, which was great as she has given no suggestions and I was a bit unhappy about ‘just money’. I hope she’s pleased.

Heading home this morning as I am taking DGC 6 and 7 to a gathering in my home town this afternoon as they are going to join in our annual festival in June and this is the first ‘planning and preparation’ get together for the children involved. It’s a circus theme and they are very excited!

Good luck to your DGD Ash but it doesn’t sound as if she’ll need it!

Home yesterday evening from a lovely three day trip to Scotland with my DSinLaw. Did three of our favourite things, not done since pre covid. Coffee in Costas, lunch in M&S and lunch in a Wetherspoons.
I feel life has passed me by, went to use the ladies in Princes Mall in Edinburgh, while scrabbling for a 20p and 10p I saw ladies just walking through the turnstile, then I saw you could pay using your contactless bank card. I felt old and stupid 😀
Then a kind young man offered to carry our suitcase down the stairs to the platform, reinforcing the feeling of being officially old.
Haven’t read yesterdays post yet, so behind on everyone’s ‘doings’.
Lazy day beckons.

Gingster I keep thinking of your poor DD. What is the point of a 'dedicated' cancer nurse if there's no response? As people said yesterday, perhaps contacting a Macmillan nurse would be helpful. I hope she gets support from her consultant this week.
Sorry to hear of the sudden death if your neighbour's husband Grandmabatty. That's the way I lost my partner - such an enormous shock. But in time to come there's comfort in knowing he didn't suffer at all, and that the last thing you shared was a kiss and cuddle and 'I love you'.
Lovely to hear of all the exploits of family gatherings and talented grandchildren - those occasions are what life is all about.
I too envy your single-mindedness*grandmattie*. I'm beginning to realise what a hoarder I am. A few months ago when I bought a new fitted sheet I found it came in a 'pocket' of material of maybe a small shoe bag size. It was of no use, but, well - you never know 😉. It surfaced again yesterday and I almost got rid of it but ...... Today I am determined to throw it out and next week I'll find a use for it and wish I hadn't
It's another pottering day for me today which I know I shall enjoy. The washing is in the machine and will be ready to hang out soon, and meals are all prepared - a leek and potato soup, the rest of yesterday's mince round with veg, and stewed rhubarb. So telephone calls and my book, here I come.

My lovely cleaning friend is due , I’ve stripped the bed , washing machine on and I’ll dissapear next door while she works her magic

Good morning all from W Kent where the sun is trying really hard to break through. Usual Sunday with a call to my DB and then lunch. DH has suddenly decided he must walk out each day so I expect a quick walk round the block after lunch.
Some family upset with one of the DGs breaking up with a long term girl friend, she has been at so many family gatherings we shall miss her.

Good morning everyone. It’s quite cloudy in my corner of Lancashire. It turned very cold yesterday. Mr. B and I were at a family get together yesterday. I am still feeling quite full after a delicious lunch but I’m sure I’ll manage our usual Sunday bacon roll later. Today’s only plan is a walk this afternoon followed by a comfy chair and the radio. Have a peaceful Sunday all.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, but from DS's house where I have stayed overnight after his Indian birthday dinner out last night. DD and her DH and dog are here as well.

A good time was had by all and we have just had Bucks Fizz and bacon butties while DS opened his presents. The plan is to take the dogs for a walk, but I need to go home first, and change into more suitable clothes and boots.

Another good win for Saints at the rugby yesterday, beating Gloucester 41-34 (I think) so I came away a very happy, though cold, bunny.

Watched the film “Benediction” last night, very good and amusing to see a friend playing a clergyman. I’m taking the DVD to the friend I’m having lunch with as he had a birthday recently, just to add to his present. Also books, but I’m not carrying them with me.

Good morning from a cold but sunny west York's. Had a lovely day with son and family yesterday spent time getting used to their German sheperd. We are at daughters today her partner is making individual curries for everyone so it's been a no cooking weekend for me.Sending virtual ((hugs)) to those needing them I am missing our walks ,I can't do hills due to hip problems😟 .

I have not been feeling well for several days now . So I am waiting for a covid test! It feels like old times. A friend has loads still in date so thought it best to do it before visiting my almost 98yr old DMiL who herself isn't feeling wonderful.
