DD has just brought me a mug of tea so I must get a move on. We are having lunch out plus my friend and neighbour so I am looking forward to it and need to scrub up. Always lovely to see DD and the force field of energy she brings with her.

Goodness, gMattie, you shame me with the way you are tackling getting rid of stuff. I am still talking about dealing with the books which I intended to do last summer. Must try harder!

Good morning from a grey dampish looking Suffolk. Off for the first time to a meeting of the Arts Society in Aldeburgh this morning with a couple of friends. Apparently there is coffee and cake first and the person who invited us says it can be quite difficult to get everyone into the room for the talk.

Sounds like my kind of morning. Hope everyone’s contain some pleasure.

Morning all

The sun is trying to break through, which is always welcome.

Busy day today as it’s eldest son’s “0” birthday. He and his wife are coming down at lunchtime ready for a birthday meal this evening. Four AC and partners and six GC I shall be spoilt having them all together, brings out the mother hen in me 🤣🐓

Before they arrive I have to take the cake and balloons to the restaurant in readiness.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very gloomy, very chilly South Yorkshire. I was planning a fairly long drive out today but if rain is forecast it won’t be wise - we’ll have to see. I haven’t written it off yet. If it falls through, I have plenty to do inside.
Unusually for me, I can’t think of anything else to say, except have the best day you can folks!

Jaxjacky Tue 28-Feb-23 08:16:37

Morning from sun and frost in S Hants. Voluntary phone was busy yesterday, our team won at quiz night in the local, well chuffed!
Today I have some cleaning to do and phone calls to make, leftover gammon for dinner.
Enjoy meals out today, grandchildren and catch ups. Good luck with appointments and travel.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry with some sunshine and seems mild out. I’m off on the train at noon into Manchester Oxford Road as I’m going with friends to see ‘Joyland’.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not too bad a day. Last night was misty and murky so no lights or even stars.
I hope you see Aurora some day gMattie

Your heating system sounds most efficient Karmalady. I'm impressed 😁

My big house is just chilly but I'm out quite a lot to keep warm grin

An excellent talk at the historical society last night showing the local shops through the ages.
It certainly puts a different perspective on a place. Plenty of reports of rowdy drunkenness in the 1800s and young people spending money on clothes , as reported by the minister. Shocking stuff.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning everyone from a rather grey Northampton, with showers forecast. Despite yesterday's rain, my washing dried nicely.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and comments yesterday,.which were a great comfort. It was a day of memories for me as it was the fifth anniversary of DH's death. Luckily I was busy for most of the day, so little time to mope. Went to yoga first thing, then walked over to the pub for Knit and Natter, where there was quite a large group of us, and we chatted merrily away while I got to grips with the complicated decreases in my pattern.
Then three of us decided to stay on for lunch, which went down well with a glass of wine.
Spent the rest of the afternoon at home trying to find a USB cable to transfer photos from my phone to the laptop, but to no avail. Have ordered one, but I fear it will be the wrong one.

Off to the hairdresser in less than an hour, (and am not showered or dressed yet!). Having colour and foils then cut and blow dry. Will be nice and relaxing I hope.

Home for a quick lunch then out on a health walk if the weather behaves itself. On the way home I must call into the paper shop to pay my bill, and cancel my papers during my up-coming holiday.

Hope everyone's day goes well and that some sunshine appears to cheer us.

.

Good morning from the NE where it is 4 degrees and damp after rain all day yesterday and overnight.
Hairdresser coming at 9am so I will need to get a move on.
Yesterday I got all the washing and ironing done which means I can relax today.
Friend from Cumbria rang last night and we chatted for an hour, she has a problem with dampness in her flat and the mould is so bad it is affecting her health. Not a really old building, 20+ years, she is at the end of her tether.
Have a good day.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is currently 3°C.
No Aurora here for me in the West of Scotland, I am disappointed never to have seen them.

Blue, my first urgent cardiology referral was made in September, again in November and then in February, all to no avail.
It was only when I contacted the secretary myself, that I was admitted to hospital. It may be worth doing that.
The waiting lists in Glasgow are horrendous. Apparently, one reason is because Covid has caused so many to have heart damage.
I sincerely hope you are seen very soon. It is so debilitating and demoralising to be constantly breath, ess.
Mick, that's good the hospital are keeping in touch. Hopefully, you will feel a little better after your infusion.

A very restless night after a very busy day yesterday. I didn't want to let DH go to the funeral on his own, but it was exhausting. At one point the vertigo struck and I was o breathless, it just won't go away.
A positive outing, in one respect, DH met an old friend, he hasn't seen in forty years and has arranged to meet up. He too is immunocompromised, so we sat together at the back of the room, as it was so busy. Too many people, so close by, makes me anxious.
We had a lovely run down to Ayr, reminiscing about our time, living down there and the horrendous drives up and down the old A77 in blizzards and fog, to visit our parents. It never phased me, now I avoid motorways, like the plague.

We did managed to get to Sainsbury's, where there was a huge TU sale. In my excitement to look at a half price, longline gilet, I somehow managed to demolish the telescopic stand, displaying them. I was mortified!
On checking prices on my hand held scanner, I noticed that the prices had not been reduced on a number of items.
A chat with customer services revealed that many items had been put out, without reducing the prices on the system.
A team of assistants was duly despatched to rectify things.
The assistants laughed that they weren't busy anyway and this would keep them occupied for ages and ages and ages! 😉

We are off to the Range to get a replacement handle for the one DH broke. Last week I saw solar lights I liked, but couldn't carry the box, so hopefully they are still there. Many of our lights have died.
I have warned DH, he must indulge me and not complain about how slow I am. 😉

Enjoy all your outings and GM, I hope your stress levels go down. You could do with support to empty your home, its a huge task.
Best wishes to all, especially those who are struggling. 💐

NannyJan53 Tue 28-Feb-23 07:55:51

I'm sure you will enjoy every moment with your DGS's NanKate even if it is exhausting. Precious memories.

NannyJan53 Tue 28-Feb-23 07:54:22

Good morning from a very wet and grey Black Country.

Rain held off for our Monday walk where we walked 6 miles. On way home I realised a bus was due in, so took bus pass out of purse to put in pocket. I missed the bus by seconds! So walked home (only 15 mins but up a hill). Arrived home to find bus pass wasn't in pocket! 10 minutes later had a message from a lady I know, who had found it in the street, and of course knew it was mine. How lucky was that? How it found it's way out of my pocket I will never know.

Gym this morning, then meeting a friend at a garden centre cafe this afternoon.

monk I was told if you don't use those vouchers, they won't send them in the future. So even more reason to use them smile

Last day of February! Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Mick and All.

Clear frosty day in South Bucks.

We’ve had a lovely two evenings with our DS who is on a Book Tour for 2 weeks and has been visiting two schools in our area.

We are packing up and leaving for the Brighton area today to look after our 2 DGSs 12 and 10 whilst their Dad is away. It will be fun, tiring, challenging and full of laughter. They said last time ‘Don’t bother reading Dad’s list of what we wear and when each day, we will tell you’. What a relief 😅

cornergran Tue 28-Feb-23 07:50:23

Morning Mick, morning All from chilly, clear corner of Somerset. 2 degrees out there.

Mr C’s hospital appointment filled much of the day. Buses behaved beautifully. Summoned an hour late to the consultant it was explained surgical intervention is necessary. Not speedy if there is no major deterioration, next stop an appointment with a surgeon.

Too cloudy for a glimpse of the Aurora last night. We can’t complain as there was a magical trip 5 years ago when we were treated to three fantastic sightings on different nights, one lasting for nearly an hour.

Lots to catch up with this morning, then must be off to collect papers from one solicitor and deposit them with another before some gathering of birthday this and that. Our teenagers both have birthdays next week. Hope to then speak to a friend as it’s the anniversary of her husbands death, 13 years on the anniversary remains more than hard.

Some progress for you mick, your day doesn’t sound much like resting bluebalou, Mr C was given the same advice yesterday and is muttering about it this morning. Goodness you’re a whirlwind grandmattie. We had two quotes from each removal company. One for a standard move the other for a collect and store with an agreed weekly storage charge. Fair to say we found removers remarkably accommodating and understanding of our uncertainties. Sounds a good trip back ash. Good luck wishes to your granddaughter sar. Hope all goes well for your brother kitty.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

Good morning all and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex.
Didn’t see the Aurora last night - too cloudy. I phoned my neighbour in Suffolk to see if she’d seen the lights over the sea. She had! Lovely pics Pittcity.

I took DD to hospital yesterday to try to see someone in Oncology . As she walked through the doors the cancer nurse phoned her. Dd had been phoning them since Thursday with no response!
She now has a face to face appointment with her consultant on Thursday. 🙏. Hopefully a scan !.

We had lunch with my old friend and her daughter which was good fun with lots of laughter which did Dd the world of good.

Sar enjoy your last day with family and of course the show tonight. 👯‍♂️.

Nice to go away, Ash but lovely to get home. I’m glad your travels were straight forward this time.

Take care one and all. 🌷

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Another bag to take to charity shop and then we have a meal booked for later, these vouchers they keep sending just have to be used.
Enjoy your Tuesday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning, you always beat me too it kitty!

We too have the cleaners first then the gardener.
We are out with friends for coffee to set the world to rights then I am going to the hairdressers.
My hair is like baby hair these days and I have tried growing it to show more volume but I hate it but hoping he doesn’t cut it too short as the I look bald!

Wishing everyone a good day.

dragonfly my problem exactly. I always had very fine fair/blond hair but loads of it. Now it is still very fine but disappearing by the day, and I simply can’t find a style that either suits my hair or one I can deal with.

brook2704 Tue 28-Feb-23 07:22:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and damp. We didn’t get another showing of the northern lights here again yesterday as it was too cloudy. I think the west of Scotland had a good show though. Hopefully you’ll get to see them one day gMattie 🤞
DGS stayed here last night and I’ve just heard him get up, he’ll be wanting his breakfast soon I bet. He’s asked to go swimming this morning so I’ll take him to the pool at the gym. Tonight DGD is coming for a sleepover after her dancing and choir classes. There’s no school here today or tomorrow due to the teachers strike so they’re having a turn each 😀
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Whitewavemark2 Tue 28-Feb-23 07:21:41

Good Morning from the South Downs.

It still feels blimmin’ cold to me out there this morning. First day of spring tomorrow - wish someone would drop the weather a line.

I shall find indoor entertainment today as I hate this cold wind.

Aubergine and cauliflower Thai curry tonight

Enjoy your cold day everyone 🥶

Good morning from a damp, overcast south Cornwall. My knee replacement has been deferred until I can get this breathlessness sorted out, which I'm relieved about. Today I'm aiming to get to my allotment ladies knitting group weekly meeting. We meet at a community cafe on the seafront. (Re the aurora I saw it from the north coast here, and it was better than the time I saw it in Norway!)

Good morning from a bright, cold Colchester. There is a chance of rain later.
Yesterday's funeral was a trip down memory lane and quite a happy occasion.
Today is charity shop volunteering day. Our manager is leaving for a better job. This is the third in 3 years...am I that bad?
Love to all 🦩 x

Sar53 Tue 28-Feb-23 07:15:06

Good morning from Leamington, my last full day here.
Yesterday I did some ironing for DD1 whilst she worked for SIL'S company, then we popped to the local shops.
Today we are going into town for coffee and a look round the shops.
This evening is the first night of DGD1's show. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it.
Have a lovely day everyone xx

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire where it is 4°. No Northern Lights visible here.

Our lovely cleaners are due this morning at 8.45 but DH has a blood test at 8 am so we are already on the move.

After making some phone calls, I have choir and then I am taking one of my brothers to an appointment at the Memory Clinic.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 28-Feb-23 07:10:52

Morning all from a slightly chilly West Oxfordshire. A little bit of admin this morning and I’ll also make a batch of chocolate frosting for the freezer. We are going out for lunch to one of our favourite places today in one of my favourite villages. OH has his beekeeping course this evening so I’ll catch up on whatever television programmes I’ve recorded. Have a good day, especially those with worries.
