Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but a dry start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays trip to Bicester on the bus did not happen thanks to a accident delaying the bus ,which was caught in tailback traffic as the accident was on the M40 .
I did go by bus to Banbury though, and brought something with my xmas gift cards.
Today unsure yet what to do .
Take Care,
Mick

Happy Anniversary to the Corners flowers

Good morning from grey-skied Wiltshire, it’s decidedly gloomy looking out there!
Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with my friend and on the way home I stopped at a little garden centre to get some bags of compost. There were tiny lambs in the fields around it.
The house was very quiet when I got back, DH and DD had left and DDog was sound asleep.
I spent an hour or so tidying up then happily sat and knitted.
I didn’t sleep well so today’s going to be very quiet, I’ll walk DDog shortly, I have an Ocado shop late morning and that’s it.
I hope you’re very wrong about the snow Whitewavemark2 because I’m away then and I hate and avoid driving in snow 🫣

Take care everyone 💐

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy but not too cold

Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Corner 💐💕🥂 and a very Happy Birthday to Mr Shazza 🎂🎉

It’s all go here, DGD stayed over last night, we’re going swimming at the gym this morning followed by a hot chocolate in Costa. An almost exact repeat of yesterdays day with DGS They do like to make sure they’re treated the same , I could have taken both yesterday but much easier with just one at a time. I’ll drop her off home after lunch and then I’m meeting a friend for coffee and a catch up and a sit down.
So pleased to hear the show went well Sar, well done to your DGD and safe travels home
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus.

Today is my young friends funeral.I will watch online. We had made arrangements to go with friends but I have a cough, not Covid but not fair to subject others to it and have them wondering if it’s Covid.

As it’s Saint David’s day DH will make cawl and Welsh cakes for lunch and a cream, leek and quorn dish for tonight.

He made Welsh cakes to take to DD2 yesterday and will make enough for DD1 today.

Wishing all celebrating a good day🍾🥂

Thinking of Urms and all with worries about family🙏🏻💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Here’s Matt.

It’s dry here but looks chilly out. I have a routine dental hygienist at noon then I’m thinking home for a bowl of (not home made) warming soup before we both wrap up and go out for a walk and talk. Being outside lifts the spirits doesn’t it?

Himself has just made me a cuppa. He says he’s looking forward to watching Man. Utd play West Ham tonight on tv. I plan to watch episode 2 of ‘unforgotten’ with the great actress who played the distraught mum in ‘Little Boy Blue’.

Grammaretto Wed 01-Mar-23 08:09:30

Happy St David's Day to all whether or not you are Welsh.

I had my DNA stats updated yesterday by Ancestry but I'm still not Welsh or English

I may make Leek soup. I have already picked daffodils.

Yarn group this morning and the man who has bought my clay mixer is collecting it today.
I'm also on alert to drive DMiL back to the flat she was ignominiously turfed out of a month ago when masonry fell from the top and destroyed the balcony. Hoping you all have a very pleasant day

Happy anniversary to the Corners.
Happy birthday to Mr Shazza.

ginny Wed 01-Mar-23 08:10:52

Good morning, I think the sun is trying to break through here in N. Bucks.
Had a lovely day yesterday visiting my Brother and Sister in Law. I just wish there was more I could do for them with all the troubles they have.
This morning I am at home and this afternoon it is WI seeing group.
WI meeting tonight and DDs 1 & 2 are coming along as visitors due to their interest in the speakers subject.
Happy celebrations for all the birthdays and anniversaries. Safe journeys to travellers
Wishing a good day for all especially those with illness or other troubles.

And many happy returns of the day to MrShazza who is 10y younger than me. You are both young to be retired! 😊

Greyduster Wed 01-Mar-23 08:26:02

Good morning, Michael and all GNs and Happy St David’s Day from South Yorkshire where the sun is out at the moment, but it’s really cold. Despite the weather I drove out to Ladybower yesterday - a pilgrimage, to cast a single red rose onto the water and remember how much DH loved the place we visited so often, to walk, to fish, to stand and stare. He never tired of it. A short walk up the forest road and then on to the fishery office to see how much their prices had gone up for the coming season! I’m really looking forward to getting onto the bank this season. Not until the weather warms up though! Today will be take up with laundry and cleaning.
A very Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Corner! Have a wonderful day!🥂🍾💐
To all, have the best day you can!

Gingster Wed 01-Mar-23 08:29:59

Good morning all and it’s chilly again. First day of spring, so we are progressing ! 🌷.

Thanks Marydoll my Dd is seeing her consultant tomorrow 🙏

Dh might go fishing today if it’s not too cold and I’ll get some housework done.

Sar the show sounds fab, glad you enjoyed it. Safe journey home.🤞.
GG your sons birthday celebrations with all the family - how lovely! 🎂.
Happy birthday Mr Shazza - a youngster! 😉.

Hope Urms is feeling brighter. This in-between time is horrid, wondering and worrying. 🙏💐.

Take care everyone and enjoy the day if you can.❤️

harrigran Wed 01-Mar-23 08:32:02

Good morning from a rainy NE where it is 5 degrees.
Yesterday was a relaxed day, after the hairdresser left I spent the day catching up with TV whilst doing crosswords.
SIL is coming to take me shopping but nothing else planned after that.
Enjoy your days out.

aggie Wed 01-Mar-23 08:41:58

Good morning from another dull dry cold day in Co Armagh
Our seniors club this morning , my walker is in the boot of Daughters car and looks like I’ll have to drag out the battered version that I keep for the garden , I’m sure the dry mud will brush off 🙄

ShazzaKanazza Wed 01-Mar-23 08:42:39

Thankyou for your lovely wishes for DH. He is going to walking football though it’s pouring down so it may not happen.
We have a business which he can do as much or as little as he likes so it’s nice as he doesn’t have to rush out in a morning. 🌻

Wyllow3 Wed 01-Mar-23 08:48:04

Good Morning from a shivery S Yorks. Overcast, what’s new.
I can’t think of a better place for your memories, Greyduster, beloved also for me, but how come you have the sun just as few miles away from me? That gives me some hope…

My sympathies Susan .

Happy anniversary Cornergran and happy birthday MrSK

I can’t think of a better place for your memories, Greyduster, but how come you have the sun just as few miles away?

“Unforgotton” for me too *Urms

Mc Donalds for chips was a favourite outing with DS. He’d each chip carefully and gaze around peacefully whilst I had once of those rather gross battered apple puddings and coffee.

I have to do a collection of meds and M n S, conveniently close, and I have a Zoom, but yesterday ended up being very full on so plans to read and potter. And do more than just look at my newish treadmill.

EkwaNimitee Wed 01-Mar-23 08:51:15

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but also showery Carlisle.
Today, a bit of housework, a bit of admin and a bit of mulling over what clothes to take on holiday. It doesn't seem to have been particularly warm in Spain recently and is due to get colder here so probably there too. I'm trying to pack minimally which is something I'm not good at. I'm a belt and braces person!
Today also my boiler is being serviced. I was taken aback when the firm rang to remind me.....that time of year again?! I've had to go into the garage and rearrange all my stuff so as to give him working room. I'm planning on a purge in there when I get back as I've got gardening gear/stuff brought from my big garden and it's not needed in this smaller one.

Do have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Wed 01-Mar-23 08:51:32

The best of both worlds then Shazza!

Got me remembering that lady on here (?? Scentia) who worked at their factory unit, printing labels and stuff. She always posted such interesting messages. She was always super busy in her garden, with her two grandchildren, I think she cycled with the little ones in a buggy hooked up to the bike? She used to show us photos. I think she made a hutch & run for guinea pigs in her garden to the delight of the children. Then she just stopped posting and we never heard from her again. I hope all is well in her life.

Happy Anniversary Mr&Mrscorner 🥂

Happy Birthday MrShazza 🍺🎉

aggie Wed 01-Mar-23 09:03:22

Daughter has just dropped my walker off for me , so no need to knock the mud off the other ! First world problem?

Liberty Wed 01-Mar-23 09:13:52

A very quick good morning from what looks like a getting sunny Suffolk. About to log on to my monthly work Teams meeting which I always enjoy and which keeps my brain active and generally keeps me in touch with the world of work which I retired from 2 years ago from the business I established on my retirement from my main career 15 years ago.

Can’t believe how time has flown since then but grandchildren have all but the eldest have been born since and although none are close by and several 4+ hours away, they have occupied many delightful hours and days.

Hope all find some peace and pleasure today.

BlueSapphire Wed 01-Mar-23 09:16:40

Good morning everyone from a rather damp Northampton, but I live in hopes as I have just put some washing in the machine.
And a happy White Rabbits and St David's Day to all.

Hairdresser was yesterday, and I decided to go a shade lighter in readiness for my holiday and better weather. Very pleased with it. Then I popped next door to the beauty salon and made an appointment for a pedicure next week, so my tootsies will hopefully look in good shape for the holiday!

Joined my lovely group for a health walk yesterday afternoon - I did over 9000 steps! And was ready.for a sit down with coffee and chat afterwards. Popped into the paper shop on the way home and paid my bill, and have also forward paid to the end of March.

Have just received details of next year's cruises, and quite fancy one to the Greek Islands.....

A.few things to do around the house this morning, and am trying to decide whether to go to the well-being cafe this afternoon,.or just stay in and read or knit.

Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Corner, and hope Mr Shazza has a lovely birthday. To my horror I am nearly 20 years older!

Happy Wednesday to all.

Taichinan Wed 01-Mar-23 09:18:56

Good morning and "Rabbits" everyone, and happy St David's Day. (I am part Welsh via my father's paternal grandparents.) I was going to say it's a lovely morning on the Angus coast, but that seems to have changed while I've been reading your posts - I can see a squall of rain heading this way. And there's a rainbow as well! As far as the weather goes, there doesn't seem to be such a thing as 'typical' any more, but yesterday I remember thinking that this was a 'typical March day'. We're forecast sleet showers on Monday and that's pretty par for the course for March as well. Break out the long john's again!
Well done with the tai chi turnaround grandmattie - it's a great workout for the brain!
Susan I know what Welsh cakes are, but what is cawl? Whatever it is, I'm sure my Welsh forebears would have been enjoying it today too.
Happy Anniversary to the Corners - we would have had our 56th on the 4th.
And a happy 58th birthday to Mr Shazza - funny to think that he was just a wee 2 year old when I got married!
Sorry to hear you scraped your car yesterday Grandmabatty - scarily easily done. Hope it was only your pride that was bruised.
Today's the day I take my friend out. She loves going to the 'up country' eatery, so that's where we shall go. I don't know for how much longer we can keep doing it though - she's becoming more and more infirm. She's a big lady and there's little I can do to help her if she falls. She's very thrawn as well - last week she insisted on climbing two steps and refused to walk up the ramp that's there. I really didn't think she'd make it! Thrawn is good, I know, and it's what keeps her going, but ....... So keep your fingers crossed for us this afternoon!
Now off I go to get on with today's little chores. Enjoy your first day of Spring - although I always think of that as being the Spring equinox around the 22nd - probably because it takes three weeks for Spring to travel from down south to up here? 😉. Have a good day x

luluaugust Wed 01-Mar-23 09:19:37

Happy St David's Day and good morning from W Kent. Off to meet friend who is moving house for a cuppa so expect to get an update with what is happening. I was reading that Norman Hartnell who made the Queen's Coronation dress was horrified when he realised that the Welsh emblem would be a leek but he managed to design the most glamorous leek ever, encrusted with diamonds apparently!
Happy Anniversary Corners
Happy Birthday Mr Shazza
Best wishes to all
