Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , dry and cold here in brackley this morning.
Today , later a small local shop , and have some lunch before an afternoon of cycling on TV.

Take Care,
Mick

ginny Sun 05-Mar-23 08:07:49

Good morning.
We have a few good items to purchase once the shops are open and then we have smallest DGS for the afternoon. His brother is being taken to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He is very excited and is going to wear his Willy Wonka outfit .

We will probably pay a visit toMIL for a cup of tea, she will enjoy seeing her GGS..
Wishing all a good day.

NanKate Sun 05-Mar-23 08:11:10

Good morning Mick and All.

It’s pretty chilly down here near Brighton.

We are half way through looking after our DGSs, their dad is back for the weekend so we do have help. It’s pretty exhausting.
I was sitting on a frozen cold footie pitch yesterday morning from 9.30 wrapped in a rug watching one DGS play his match. He was so pleased we were there, I wouldn’t get hyperthermia for anyone else (other than his bro). ☃️🫧💨

Good morning from chilly Shropshire🥶

Yesterday was very enjoyable. My nieces baby is beautiful and both are doing well.We called at IKEA on the way home which was pretty grim!DH did a sterling job looking after the children on his own.He collected M from a Beavers trip with H in tow then took them both shopping.

Today we are going to the Gaia exhibition at Chester Cathedral then lunch at our favourite Italian restaurant.

Urms💐

I hope little Dollie is feeling better🧸

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning all from cool and dry South Lanarkshire.

Oh Marydoll, how rotten for you, vertigo is horrendous. I really hope today is a better day for you.

Happy birthday Grandmachrisy

I was telling DD about the very annoying women in the cafe the other day. A couple of clicks and she found the photos on instagram, apparently one of them has 144,000 followers! I’ve no idea why, it seems to be photo after photo of this heavily made up woman posing in glamorous clothes in different locations. Can’t quite get my head around it.

Anyhoo we are having a late lunch with DH’s siblings today, it will good to catch up with them, it’s been a few months since we last met.

Have the best day possible everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 05-Mar-23 08:24:53

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a grey central London.

Happy Birthday to Grandmachrisy47 🎂🎉 enjoy your day.

We enjoyed the Churchill War rooms yesterday it was fascinating. My DH especially loved it as he studied the wars at school.
We walked and walked taking in all the sights we love.
Last nights meal at the Asian restaurant I loved as I had goat curry and steamed broccoli. DH didn’t enjoy it as he likes bang for his buck and found the portions tiny and so expensive and pretentious. In his words ‘and we are sitting in a basement’ luckily I found it funny and we both giggled the whole time. Thankfully he wasn’t paying.
More walking today, this morning to Liverpool Street area then back over to Covent to do some shopping.
The photos are of St Dunstans in the East which was rebuilt by Wren after the fire but this is all that’s left now and All Hallows by the Tower the oldest church in the city. I love how ancient meets modern with the wonderful Sky Garden building.

Enjoy your day everyone 🌻🌻

A cold grey but thankfully dry start in Oxfordshire. Not a very exciting day planned; cleaning and tidying up, I will prep for a roast chicken dinner for tonight and take dog for a long walk.
Some family health worries are occupying my thoughts so a walk helps rebalance me. Will certainly need to light the fire today as its so grey and chilly.

Taichinan Sun 05-Mar-23 08:25:23

Good morning all from "same again" weather on the Angus coast. Mind you, it does feel colder. Lots of quiet days to come on here this morning - I expect we're all preparing for what the weather is expected to throw at us this coming week. A quiet day here too with nothing planned except lamb and roast veg for Sunday lunch. DD and New Man spent yesterday in the Lake District and have now bagged 60 Wainwrights. Their photos are beautiful and some of the views are spectacular. I love looking at them from the warmth and comfort if my armchair 😉😁
Happy Birthday Geandmachrisy. And so sorry you had a bad day yesterday Marydoll.
Have a good day everyone and stay cosy x

Urmstongran Sun 05-Mar-23 08:29:54

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry but damp out and seems cold. Brr! Roast pork and stuffing dinner for my stepfather today which is his favourite. A slightly earlier meet up as Himself wants to watch Man. Utd -v- Liverpool at 4:30pm. It’s the start too of the F1 racing season this afternoon but he’ll miss that and catch up with the highlights tonight. I shall be looking for something on Netflix!
😊

Good morning everyone from a chilly looking Northampton, 3° outside at the moment. Showers forecast later, but I am hoping to get out and sweep up some leaves from the slate borders. I managed to get out yesterday and prune the roses and tidy up a few other shrubs, but there is still much to be done, and the garden looks a mess. Something is digging large holes in the lawn

Spoke to my two younger sisters on the phone yesterday; the elder of the two (who lives alone) had had yet another fall, and the paramedics have had to be called out again. I also fear she has the beginnings of dementia. Apparently she is being advised to go into respite care for a few weeks so she can be looked after and have a complete rest, and also have one of those emergency call things round her neck. A stair lift is also being proposed. Her falls are becoming more.frequent which is worrying. She also lives very far from any family.

No real plans for today, apart from a bit of time in the garden, read the papers and watch tv. A new pie from M&S to try for dinner tonight, chicken tikka flavour. Looking forward to that.

Good morning from a grey skies Colchester. DH is cooking breakfast, a rare occurrence.
We have roast pork this evening. I shall probably spend most of the day with a full belly.
DH will be putting a lock on his new shed doors and I will be keeping out of the way!

Happy Birthday Grandmachrisy and love to all 🦩 x

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 05-Mar-23 08:33:33

Good morning all from dry but chilly Harrogate
Happy birthday Grandmachrisy!
Yesterday had quite a busy afternoon looking after DGS who was intent on playing with bubbles all round the house. He was kicking ⚽️ thought he was going to break all sorts - he might have Down syndrome but he is still a 9year old boy! Pity it was too cold to be outside. Today I shall be going to church then putting all the books and toys away this afternoon. Then rest!
Have the best day possible folks

harrigran Sun 05-Mar-23 08:39:46

Good morning from a grey NE where it remains damp.
DS and DIL came for dinner last night after the matinee performance at my city centre. A very rare occasion for neither GD to visit. Eldest was doing college homework and younger GD was working backstage at a theatre in Durham for her school musical production.
DD has caught covid again and is quite ill, second time in four months despite being fully vaccinated. SIL is going to join her in Brussels on Friday, he has asthma and has so far avoided infection so is a little anxious.
Today should be an easy day, some TV and the crossword.
Happy Birthday Grandmachrisy enjoy your day.

Stilllearning Sun 05-Mar-23 08:40:56

Morning from S Lanarkshire where I can see blue sky.

Sorry you had another rotten day Marydoll

Happy birthday Grandmachrisy March seems to be a busy month for them! Last year mine fell on a Glesca grannies get together and this year will just miss it by a day.

Today is a big birthday for our family too, DGD2 is 18 and this afternoon we’re having a gathering for family and friends at their farm.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone together, it’s so rare these days with everyone’s busy lives.

I’ll be thinking about you and your DH tomorrow Urms.

Enjoy your trip to Scotland grandMattie, I hope it refreshes you during this stressful time.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday🦩

Kalu Sun 05-Mar-23 08:49:24

Good morning all from another sunny, chilly day in Glasgow, almost spring like, it is a welcoming start to the day.

No plans, just a short walk for us at some point and F1 to enjoy later.

Happy Birthday Grandmachrisy 🎉

Have a pleasant day all.

NanKate Sun 05-Mar-23 08:54:34

PS Marydoll just seen your post. What a miserable day you had. Sending wishes and prayers for a better day for you today. 💐

EkwaNimitee Sun 05-Mar-23 08:54:44

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle.
Yesterday was a day I should have stayed in bed with the duvet over my head! A kidney infection, a minor prang with my car and finally I gave in to the former and had to get an appointment at the walk-in clinic at the hospital where I got prescribed antibiotics. Let's hope they kick in before I'm off on my hols. On top of that, my supposedly smart tv has stopped connecting to the internet and my endeavours have not succeeded in making it do so. It will have to wait.
Today, lots of little jobs to do at a careful pace.

Happy birthday to you Grandmachrisy, I hope it's a good one.
And also hoping it's a better day for you Marydoll. How very frustrating and unpleasant for you.

The best possible day to you all.

Greyduster Sun 05-Mar-23 08:57:30

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is cloudy but dry. Had a long chat on the phone with DS yesterday afternoon. He was in his garage working on a thumb stick he is making for a charity auction. I’m looking forward to seeing it. The one he made for me has been much admired. I have a physio appointment for my hip this afternoon. The exercises they gave me last time have been very beneficial. Other than that, not much going on here today. Lamb chops (I lurrve lamb chops😋 even if you do have to take out a second mortgage to buy them!) for tea with roast potatoes and veg. Have the best Sunday you can folks.

Beechnut Sun 05-Mar-23 08:58:41

Happy Birthday Grandmachrisy 🎂💐

Auntieflo Sun 05-Mar-23 09:01:34

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Unusually I am up early enough to post before going to Church.
Cold and getting colder her in our bit of Berks.
Roast pork on the menu here, seems to be popular today.
I should have tried getting into the garden yesterday, as it is looking a bit sad, but after shopping, I went back to knitting the button band for my cardigan. It was one of those where you pick up all the stitches on a circular needle (450). Never done it before, and probably never again.
Karmalady, surely you should have reported the damaged sink, and not tried to fix it yourself.
Sorry to hear that you are still so unwell Marydoll. Have a quiet day and enjoy your Korean? soaps.
Glad to know that you appear to have found new homes for your excess furniture GrandMattie.
Better go and get washed and dressed before I make us late.
Have a good day one and all.

luluaugust Sun 05-Mar-23 09:06:34

Happy Birthday Grandmachrisy
Marydoll sorry to read you had a rotten day, I hope today is better.

Jaxjacky Sun 05-Mar-23 09:09:50

I hope that infection clears quickly Ekwa, TV gets sorted and car damage is minimal, not a good day for you 💐

Wyllow3 Sun 05-Mar-23 09:12:32

Gloomy day yet again in S Yorks.

Quakers today followed by a ? maybe gym. I never do much, just an easy stretch out routine and natters always to be had.

Happy Birthday Grandmachrisy

BlueSapphire very sorry to hear about your sis. and family not being close, it makes one think about future plans!

Have a good physio Greyduster and bests for tomorrow Urms.

My lap top won’t last me long so ££££ ahead but I have an old back up which is fine for the internet, I can’t imagine being without one GMattie

GrannySomerset Sun 05-Mar-23 09:17:40

Grey and cold here so after church will hunker down with the paper and a good book. Sorry that several regular posters are not well and hope tomorrow is better. It’s exhausting to feel unable to do the things we want, especially when the garden is calling, but one of the facts of older life is learning how hard to push ourselves.
