Good Morning Sunday 5th March 2023
(58 Posts)Good morning from an overcast E Kent.
Church first thing today, the start packing for my trip to Bo’ness tomorrow early; the weather promises to be subzero mist of the time I’ll be there.. I’m have a dog walk with my friend as well. A million things to still check and sort out.
For those interested, I have been in contact with the Salvation Army, Emmaus and the local hospice, to give nearly all of my furniture and worldly goods.
I went into Canterbury yesterday to either buy a new iPad or change the battery. One can’t just have a change of battery; the iPad has to be booked in, sent to the Apple factory for the battery change and this takes 3-5 working days! My battery “isn’t flat enough” for a change. The chap was very sweet and helpful, saying that my device was still very valid, so didn’t need a new one.
I hope everyone has a good, peaceful Sunday with real and metaphorical rays of sunshine ☀️. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩❤️
Good morning from a cloudy and cold Torbay.
I hope your iPad continues to work for you, grandMattie. There’s never a good time to be without them, is there? I’m glad you are finding recipients for your unwanted furniture, etc.
My first solo food shopping trip went well with no apparent shortages of fruit or vegetables. I bought a couple of croissants (his choice) and a drink for a poor man sleeping rough outside Lidl. The cashier told me he’d recently asked another customer for sushi. (Not sure this smaller branch sells it…..but I haven’t ever looked!)
Church this morning then a day to hibernate, I think! Take care and keep warm, especially you, Mick. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩
Good morning from chilly Wiltshire.
Plans are underway for new garden fencing, it’s going to look so good I think! By April my back garden should be transformed 👏👏😀
Today is going to be another quiet day, I have to say I really enjoy the opportunity to do little! DDog and I will have an early walk, then a bit of tidying in the garden before I do some sorting out of my craft stash.
I hope you all have a good day too x
Good morning. Cold and dry down South.
Our small church is not open today[open every other Sunday].
Going to read a couple of what is seen as the more minor, Bible books.
Day of rest.
Good morning from s somerset, a similar day ahead to yesterday, still dull and certainly cooler
I got dressed to go to wells and last minute decided that I would not enjoy it, too cold and too dull. Definitely not garden-watching weather nor for browsing as I don`t want to spend money. As fate would have it, the bus I would have come back on, broke down. Lucky decision to stay
My new sink unit arrived after waiting a month. It had bashed around in transit and the front corners were bent. I think I have fixed it, very carefully, no marks after working on it. Bad packaging by franke was the cause. I am nervous now re fitting, I used to rely on dh to do the measurements. I have checked over and over
I need to light my stove sooner today, the cool is settling in and I have brought my prep in for tomato seed sowing but will wait until after next week as I don`t have a greenhouse. 15 days to officially spring and 21 days to clock changes, which I am ready for as I am waking earlier already
Good morning from an overcast but lovely fresh-feeling south Cornwall. Thank you for your kind birthday wishes for my son yesterday. A fun family evening where I played Mario Kart and briefly yearned to be driving a motorbike again.
My eldest son drove us home so the birthday boy could have a beer. I sat in the back listening to them talk about cars, very unusual for them! Apparently I was sitting in a £44,000 car (comes with the job)! It just looked ordinary to me, though with a dashboard like an aeroplane. 'Why is it so expensive?' I asked. He explained that it won't let him crash; if he veers off at all it corrects the direction, and it brakes if he gets too near the car in front. Of course, for Mrs 'I gave up my car so I could live a little more ethically' this was a complete revelation to me.
I notice this morning that my seven-year-old granddaughter has donated her cold to me, the first for a couple of years, but the evening was worth it!
Good morning all from a very cold and grey North Leicestershire.
Dh and DS1 are going to the football and have put in a request for hot dogs with onions before they go. I plan to sit and work my way through the papers. Marsala chicken when they get back.
Good morning from the South Downs.
Chilly and dull. Yesterday afternoon was spent doing arty/crafty stuff as I can’t get into the garden, and it looks like today will be the same.
Looking at the BBC weather app. March looks to be a cold month -at least until 18th - so spring is very much delayed this year. I’ll just have to catch up.
Boring morning of fridge and oven cleaning before I make it dirty again with a roast.
So roast pork and veg with roasted onions and apple sauce and 1 small potato (diet) shouldn’t have any really.
Enjoy your wintery day everyone, keep warm - hat gloves and scarf weather!
btw, no I am not going to fit the sink unit. Plumber is booked
I was mega impressed for a moment there karmalady!
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° with light cloud. Grandmattie dress warm for Bo'ness! It's three miles down the road from me. The views of the river Forth and the Fife coast are wonderful. However snow and ice is forecast.
Yesterday was such a lovely day playing with dgs1. We were in the garden for a while but it was cold. I've had a great time with him.
Today I'm up early because I couldn't sleep. I had an awful night's sleep Dgs1 is still sleeping. I'm having a quiet cuppa and I've put the heating on. We might go to the park later. Steak casserole done in the slow cooker for dinner. I hear a little voice calling. Have a good day all
Morning from duo S Hants, 2 degrees.
All good donations gMattie and an honest salesman.
Wise decision karmalady as you weren’t sure.
No plans today, crosswords from yesterdays paper, a walk and roast chicken for dinner.
Is it a Happy Birthday for Grandmachrisy 🎉🎂? Enjoy your lunch.
Have a good day if you can 🦩🦩
Good morning from Durham, after a very disturbed night - coughing.
Thank you all for your kindness yesterday re. the loss of a good friend and my DH’s anniversary - despite a March birthday, it’s not my favourite month.
I’ve promised to look after DGS1 today, he’s such a character and makes me laugh. An additional bonus, is that it gets me out of my house while the decorators work in the lounge. They’ll be here soon, so I need to get dressed and sorted.
Best wishes to all.
Good morning all from a cold dry North Yorkshire. A terrible nights sleep with lots on my mind. GrandMattie I’ve had two iPads fitted with new batteries at a phone/tablet repair shop in York, there’s sure to be something similar I would have thought in your area or Bristol. They were done in an an hour or two, didn’t even have to be booked in. They had a list of fixed prices for such things. Mine weren’t completely flat but would suddenly ‘die’ and became very annoying.
A quiet day planned today with more seed sowing, potting on etc. Enjoy yours everyone if you can.
Morning Mick, morning All. Another grey day forecast for our corner of Somerset.
An unexpected wander out yesterday filled most of the day. Will tackle the sortie into the loft today. We expect a flying visit from our teenagers and their Dad this afternoon, they will re home two unwanted garden chairs.
You’ve done well to find recipients for unwanted furniture gfandmattie. Enjoy your break. If jax is right happy birthday wishes go to grandmachrisy.
Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all
Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it looks cloudy and grey
Enjoy your trip gMattie and wrap up warm!
DD1s house is quiet except for two DGSs who’ve just arrived in the bedroom saying they’re hungry. DH has taken them downstairs to get some breakfast and brought me a cuppa. DD1 and Sil are getting a rare lie in!
Yesterday we went into the city centre and enjoyed looking around doing a bit of shopping, a walk by the river and a quick trip to the Fitzwilliam museum. Today DGS is going to the Clip and Climb with his pals as his birthday party. I’m sure they’ll be pizza and cake involved as well as lots of fun!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Grey clouds here.
I’ve got the washing machine on and hope to give the lawn its first mow today. If it doesn’t get done today it’ll be at least the middle of March before I start as the weather doesn’t look promising.
Yesterday I bought some storage boxes for my decluttering and rearranging and this morning I’m going to a garden centre.
Have the best day you can all and enjoy your roasts 🦩💐
Morning from a cold, grey Co Durham. Jaxjacky, it is indeed thank you, and to cornergran. Lunch with BiL and SiL will be slightly muted, as they had to have their 13 year old dog put to sleep. As they never had a family their dog as been the centre of their home.
Georgesgran, you must be fairly near to me. Hope you feel better soon. March also has lots of birthdays for me. This year including DH’s 80th.
Grandmabatty, I love the Fife coast.
Hope all have a good day, I’ll raise a glass to you all at lunchtime. 😀
Good morning from chilly Leicestershire.
Not much on today - roast lamb for dinner.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 2°C.
I was very unwell again yesterday and the day was spent lying down, hoping the vertigo would pass. It didn't.
A waste of yet another day.
I was so keen to tidy up my herb garden, many haven't survived the winter.
Its great to hear of all your plans. Enjoy your day, whatever you are doing.
Happy birthday to GrandmaChrisy
Birthday greetings, Grandmachrisy.🎉🎁💐
Good morning from a grey W Kent. Quiet day today, will cook lunch and carry on sorting out the bedroom cupboards plus a walk later.
Hope your trip goes well gM
Best wishes to all
Happy Birthday Grandmachrisy.
