Aww lovely to see you here GG13, definitely no apology needed, life can get so busy in a good way and there’s not always time to rest awhile in here.
Sorry to hear the injection was so painful soop hope someone lovely was holding your hand.
Lovely hair Grannmarie and a gorgeous colour … my appointment is next week and it’s desperately needed! Also hoping your knee eases a bit, it must be so frustrating when there’s no treatment for it only waiting for physio etc ..
Thanks for sharing the chocolate Blossoming yummy
Another gorgeous sunny day here, it really lifts the spirits and the garden is looking much better for it. I’m trying to make the most of it as the forecast is all downhill from Saturday .. DH is out watching DGS play football, it’s a quick chicken stir fry when he’s home. I know it’s not quite the weekend yet but I’ll be opening a bottle of Pinot Grigio and sitting in the conservatory in the sunshine ..
Such a lovely plant Corner I’ve got one too but it’s only in bud just now, I think it’ll be another couple of weeks at least. I’ll try to remember to let you know when it’s caught up!

Hi all, gorgeous Grannmaria I need to get my btm to the hairdresser, a cut is really needed.
A good nights sleep really helps Blossoming, long may yours continue.
👋👋 Grannygravy good to see you.
Afte a BP and drugs review with our surgery pharmacist I need to get more exercise and drink less alcohol! I was well under the recommended units, but she explained it reacts with people differently, so I’ll do my best on both fronts. Getting older is tedious.
I had lunch with a friend, cut the grass and we have rain on the way.
Enjoy your evening.

Meant to say, hope DustyAngel is feeding better now. My mind has even less focus than my eyes right now! I think I have been more anxious about my eye procedure than I realised.

Grannmarie Thu 20-Apr-23 21:26:05

Thank you all for your kind comments, NNGB. 💕🙏

Hello everyone, it’s nice to be in the kitchen. I collected my brother and his lovely partner this morning. I managed to overshoot the park and ride and ended up having to do a 20 minute detour to get backsad it was good to see them for the first time in three and a half years. Obviously they are a bit jet lagged. I cooked a vegan dinner - pasta, homemade tomato sauce with mushrooms, all topped with parsley. Chocolate sorbet for pudding. I made it myself so knew what was in it. My sister and niece are back tomorrow together with younger son. I have taken some chicken out of the freezer so brother’s partner will have to have vegetables and rice noodles. I forgot to mention last night’s WI Puddings and Prosecco evening. It was a hoot with 50 or more women quaffing Prosecco and sampling a lot of very tasty puddings. I took my very rich chocolate dessert cake. There’s a bit left so I could leave it on the kitchen table. It must be eaten with cream.

Beautiful hair Grannmarie.I love the colour and cut.

Hope your knee is not so sore Soop.I’ve had quite a few
injections in the past and they do help.

Hope your eye is feeling better today Blossoming.

We have a viewing of a bungalow this afternoon, sounds hopeful.Another tomorrow then apartments on Monday and Tuesday.
We have many estate agents on our case, all very helpful.
It’s a wet grey day here and more of the same for the weekend.☹️

Have a Good Friday everyone.

cornergran Fri 21-Apr-23 13:10:37

Good luck with the viewings yia. Cold, wet and miserable here too. . I’m thankful we made the best of yesterdays very welcome sunshine. When we were looking for a new home I almost welcomed the grey days thinking if we liked a property in cloud and rain we’d like it even more in sunshine. 🤞 for you.

A get well to all poorly folk.

soop Fri 21-Apr-23 13:12:04

Beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing.

I am feeling proper poorly. Nauseous and my tummy aches. Knee a bit throbby. Need to sit quietly and will be back with you lovely lot when I feel recovered.

Still no phone calls from hospitals as arranged. The hernia is giving me jip. Would be helpful to see the stoma nurse when she's back on duty.

Cloudless sky. A beautiful calm teal green sea. No pussy cat visitation for about two weeks. Cannot help but feel concerned.

Enjoy your day. Special love to our poorly Kitcheners. flowers

Grannmarie Fri 21-Apr-23 17:28:13

So sorry to hear that, dear Soop. Rest/nap as much as you need to, hoping and praying that you and our poorly Kitchen folk feel much better soon. Also hope Sweetie Pie returns soon. 💕🙏

LLL, your W.I. Night sounds like great fun!
Enjoy your time with your siblings and family, I hope your special birthday celebrations go well.🎂

Thank you, YiaYia. Fingers crossed 🤞 for your viewings, your forever home 🏡 is just around the corner.

Hello 👋 Cornergran, hope all is well with you and MrC.

We are on the bright and breezy Galloway coast for an overnight, gift from DS2 and family. We've stayed in this hotel a few times, actually our first visit was 50 years ago, when I was expecting DS1....hilltop location with stunning views. DH did all the driving, my leg was well rested. He's snoring 😴 now, wee siesta before dinner.
View from our window.

Wishing everyone a good weekend, take care.

brook2704 Fri 21-Apr-23 18:09:01

So sorry that you’re feeling poorly Soop, take it easy and rest as much as possible. Hope you’re feeling a bit better soon In the meantime here’s some 💐 and ❤️
I’m feeling a bit whacked myself after my morning at the gym - all good though. It does help that we’ve got the nicest ever instructor who is so encouraging and makes you feel so good! I went to Costa with my friend afterwards and we both collapsed on the sofas for over an hour .. 🤣 I had intended a bit of gardening this afternoon as it’s still gorgeously warm and sunny but I just sat in the conservatory instead and nodded off ….
Have a lovely break grannmarie a change of scenery and a night away works wonders
Fingers crossed for the viewings Yia

Grannmarie Fri 21-Apr-23 18:22:19

Thank you, Brook. I'm so impressed with your exercise routine, well done! You have earned your wee nap in the conservatory.

We had settled down for wee pre dinner siesta, when we received a surprise video call from the Wee Boy and his Mummy and Daddy! He was showing us his latest dinosaur 🦕 and still talking about our trip to the Riverside museum. The joys of technology.
Must get showered and titivated now. TOYA.

cornergran Fri 21-Apr-23 18:37:08

Rest well soop. Time to take a lot of care of yourself. flowers

All good here thank you grannmarie other than the return of the grey skies. That’s a fab view from your window. Enjoy

No gym for me brook, will you be horrified to hear my only encounter with a gym was an enforced one at the hospital as part of knee treatment.

My exercise today was moving clothes around. So tired of sweaters the storage bags have come out and clothes for warmer weather have replaced most of them. I am determined it is about to be a proper , warm Spring. Fortunately there are many layers which can be worn should I be as wrong as I usually am grin.

Tomorrows excitement will be covid jab boosters. We’ll recover with coffee afterwards and then I suspect do very little.

Be good everyone.

Grandmabatty Fri 21-Apr-23 19:03:47

Poor Soop. Lots of rest for you. Sweety Pie is maybe on his holidays. Cornergran you are super organised. Brook I'm always in awe at your exercise regime. A nap will have done you good. Lovely view Grannmarie enjoy your break. Yiayia I hope this bungalow is better for you.
I had a lovely chat with dd when she returned from her nail appointment. Dgs2 was still sleeping so we had a cuppa and a biscuit. It's rare that we get time just us as usually the boys are rumbling about. I've had a cheese omelette with chips for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm tidying up the kitchen as I've run out of dishwasher tablets and have to clean the dishes by hand. Shock! Horror! An Aldi shop is required. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 21-Apr-23 23:20:04

Oh Soop, I’m so sorry to hear you’re under the weather. Hopefully the various medical people will get their act together tomorrow.
My sister and niece are back from friends and relatives and staying in an air b n b in the village. Brother and his partner are still jet lagged and keep having naps. Younger son arrived from London to stay for a few days. He has taken the final spare bed although he will give it up for one night tomorrow when my daughter comes to stay. She has to sleep in a proper bed (scoliosis as a teenager) so younger son will sleep on the sofa. OH managed to go out with friends today. His cough is much improved but hasn’t gone away yet. Have a good evening.

SueDonim Fri 21-Apr-23 23:45:14

Poor Soop! I hope you’re feeling brighter by tomorrow. flowers

I don’t know how you fit in all the gym visits, Brook! What sort of things do you do there? Do you have a personal trainer?

Lovely photo, Granmarie.

Good luck in the viewings, Yia.

The latest about my son is that his consultant is happy that he’s had enough of the infusions treatment so yesterday they just took bloods and sent him home again. I hope this is the light at the end of the tunnel that we all need.

I’ve just had two days where I have never stopped. Thursday was devoted to pleasure. In the morning I met an old friend for coffee and in the afternoon went to a discussion group I’ve recently joined. The evening was taken up with going to see a play I booked very last minute, literally the previous evening. All good fun!

Today we had charge of our GS. When I picked him up from nursery I noticed his eye was weeping and he’s coughing again. He was very cheery, though, and enjoyed having lunch out with us, then going on various errands. He went for a nap when we got back home, while I spoke to the men who mow our grass and did some chores.

After his nap we took him home. Dd was going out so we then fed both children, they played for a bit and then we put them to bed, with a lot of procrastination from 5yo GD! We got home just before 9pm. We did our PT workout there and then, as I knew if I sat down I’d not move again until bedtime! Also had to remake the bed after stripping it this morning but it’s ready and waiting for me now.

I did discover a forgotten disadvantage of drying washing outside today - dropping your damp white duvet cover on the dusty ground! 😩

I’m looking forward to tomorrow - I have absolutely nothing planned! grin TOYA. Xxx

Nannytopsy Sat 22-Apr-23 16:13:04

Hello everyone. Sorry you were under the weather yesterday soop and I hope you are much better today.
Grannmarie I love the view! Enjoy your trip.
We had baby DGS to ourselves on Thursday night as an experiment and it worked pretty well, although we started early on Friday! I don’t often see 5.34am 😳. Last night we set and ran a quiz in the village and raised just over £300 for the church roof repairs. Now, the little family have gone, I have mopped the village hall and just had a nap. Now for the ironing … 😟

Nannytopsy Sat 22-Apr-23 16:16:10

yiayia good luck with the house hunt.
llfl I have already pinched your Puddings and Prosecco evening idea and emailed the entertainment sec! I wonder if we could use it for a group meeting?

Grandmabatty Sat 22-Apr-23 16:56:17

Good afternoon kitcheners. Suedonim that's such good news about your son. Nannytopsy I'm tired just reading your post! Today I have dgs1 for a sleepover, however he has been spectacularly sick and is currently lying on the couch. He's determined to stay but the popcorn for a movie night is off the table. I expect he'll go home early tomorrow. Hopefully I don't get what he has 🤞 Have a good afternoon kitcheners. Soop my love to you x

Jaxjacky Sat 22-Apr-23 17:08:32

I hope you’ve improved soop, very tiresome indeed.
What excellent news Sued you must be a little relieved, not out of the woods, but maybe a chink of light ahead.
Full house for your big day llfl don’t run yourself ragged on the catering front.
Lots of happy grandchildren, ours are here now until tomorrow, we’ve kicked a football, played Rummikub, sowed some seeds, MrJ took them to the driving range and we’re now watching football.
Too chilly for gardening here brook, I recall the French ‘Ice Saints’ who don’t go until the middle of May, bit like our ‘ne’re cast a clout..’
Heard yesterday Imogen is to be a prefect, pretty chuffed for her and as proud of my daughter, being a single parent is tough, she thoroughly deserves some ‘me’ time this weekend.
Enjoy your evening all

Grandmabatty Sat 22-Apr-23 17:44:23

Well done Imogen!

brook2704 Sat 22-Apr-23 22:33:00

That’s such good news about your son SueD, fingers and toes crossed that the worst is over now and his recovery continues
I’ve had a busy day, I was out in town this morning and bought some lightweight summer trousers - just need the sun to come back out now, it’s been freezing cold today
Sounds like you’re having a lovely time with the DGC Jax - enjoy. We took ours to crazy golf this afternoon, then a couple of games of table tennis and then a game of Harry Potter scrabble. DD and SiL had quite a successful afternoon trying to get a new car, there’s just 2 on the shortlist now but they can’t decide which one ..
Well done to Imogen Jax and hope your DD enjoys a very well earned rest
Hope your DGS is feeling much better soon grandmabatty poor little lamb - hope you can reschedule the popcorn and movie night soon
Corner I don’t fancy a hospital gym at all, its probably put you off for life! Each to their own though and I’m a firm believer in doing what you enjoy and makes you happy.
I don’t have a personal trainer SueD but I do classes with about 6-8 ladies all similar ages so it’s tailored well for our abilities. A bit of strength training with weights, core exercises and cardio etc. I don’t have much upper body strength so I’m trying to improve on that! Then there’s the fun classes of zumba, dance fit etc and splashing about at the Aqua aerobics. Gives me something to do and keeps me out of mischief 😉
Hoping soop is feeling a bit better and Llfl is enjoying the birthday weekend! 🎉💐🥂🎂

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 22-Apr-23 22:52:42

Hello everyone! I’m in bed and exhausted. Rather a lot of wine had been consumed! My daughter is here now, which is lovely. She has pinched the remaining spare room while younger son sleeps on the sofa. Elder son, his partner and my granddaughter plus my stepfather, are coming for the day tomorrow. My sister and niece took over the kitchen and made lots of goodies for tomorrow. Niece and younger son then went back to the air b n b to do more cooking! It still feels weird knowing I’m going to be 70 next week. On the actual day six of us will go to my favourite restaurant for lunch where I hope Steak Diane will be on the menu. Have a good night.

soop Sun 23-Apr-23 14:14:55

A very quick hello to my favourite Gransnetters. Am totally exhausted. Apologies for not being my usual communicative self. I shall return when I feel more like the real me.

My very best wishes to you all. X

brook2704 Sun 23-Apr-23 16:46:18

Soop absolutely ni need to apologise for anything, it’s lovely to hear from you. Take care, lots of rest and hope things improve a bit soon 💐

brook2704 Sun 23-Apr-23 17:04:46

It’s definitely back to winter weather here today, windy, wet and only about 6º … we’ve put the heating on and we’re in nów for the rest of the day.
The DGC and SiL are over in Aberdeen for a basketball tournament, so I met DD in town for a browse around the shops and lunch. I enjoyed seeing her and we had a good catch up - well I did and I hope she did too!
Quick and easy curry from M&S food hall for later, it suits DH as he’s watching the football and there’s no veg to chop. Then I need to find something new to watch on tv later now we’ve finished Magpie murders
Hope the celebrations are going well Llfl! 🎉🥂🎉🥂🎉🥂
