Sounds like slow improvement Blossoming 👍
Out of your control then annsixty how sad 💐
After a frosty start it’s been sunny, still chilly in any shade, so I got some jobs done and went for a walk afterwards. It’s my daughters first day back to work (school) after her hand injury, I’ll ring later.
We won the quiz last night! Very pleased, it’s a well attended fun evening in our village pub and good business on a Monday evening.
I hope your spécial property was found today Yia, it must be becoming a chore every day, no wonder you’re stressed.
Im going to start moving indoor seedlings out to the greenhouse tomorrow, hoping for no more frost.
Enjoy your evening all.

ALL GOOD Friends
And jolly good company.
Welcome.

Sorry, ladies, for not replying but I'm still under the weather. Thank you for your kind words. They have cheered me up. Annsixty I'm sorry to hear that things are so difficult for you. 💐
So sorry to hear you’re still feeling poorly grandmabatty, hope you feel better in the morning, take care
Well done with the quiz Jax!
We’ve got DGD here for her regular Tuesday sleepover, she’s just gone to bed and hopefully be asleep soon 😴
A flying visit to the kitchen... I've popped a Banana and Cardamom cake on the side. It's been a crazy few days.. Finlay has doubled in size in 4 weeks and the spaniel in him is showing itself...mad until they are at least 3. He's been coming nearby everywhere with me to give the other 3 a chance to rest. Luna the Cane Corso is still a bit wary of him... So until he is big enough to put her in her place he comes with me. I've had another treatment on my break and I can really feel the difference...I can garden freely and for longer periods too which is bliss to me. I've picked up all sorts of plants over the last week or so...Skimmias..potentillas ..Hebes... Thumbergias (3 colours ) and some summer bedding that's in the bargain greenhouse. I get my nails done in Honiton and had my feet done too on Friday as I've started to wear my Birkenstocks...and they were not a pretty sight until they were transformed!!!!. Whilst I was parked up checking my phone afterwards my Darling GS walked past with a friend on the way home from school...he didn't see me but I had the chance to see him. He has grown so much in 4 years but still had that wonderful smiley face that used to melt my heart everyday. I miss him and his brothers.
I'm sorry to hear that lots of you have been feeling poorly and really hope that you all feel better soon.
Ann... I'm sad to read that you feel so low ..I don't know what the family situation is but maybe a visit to your GP could be possible...and see if there is anything that could lift your spirits a bit. I hope so.
It's overcast here so I have no excuse to get me out of some housework in preparation for visitors this weekend.
I'm not sure when your big birthday is LLFL but I hope you have a fabulous day...70 is the new 50...so enjoy. 🎂
Dear you lovely lot, still feeling well below par. Sorry to hear that other Kitcheners feel likewise.
We decided to return the original stroller. Although easy to use indoors, the rutted pavements in our village are too unmanageable. It took three hours to complete the "easy steps" for return of the item. I now have a more serviceable model. It cost an extra £200. I am therefore going through the tortuous business of selling some of my favourite "upmarket" clothes on eBay. What a business that is proving to be. I have only skimmed the surface thus far.
The stoma nurse has contacted me at last. I am waiting for an appointment to see her in Glasgow. Mr Soop has yet to receive his promised call from the haematologist.
Anyway, staggeringly onwards I go. I send you all my very best wishes. I also apologise for my tardiness.
Hello kitchen pals, just in from a very busy but enjoyable day
We dropped DGD off at school and then I had a morning at the gym. Hard work but worth it! Then across the road for lunch with my friend followed by a bit of shopping. I’m home now and not doing much else for the rest of today!
Good luck with the Ebay sales soop fingers crossed for some buyers
Lovely to hear from you neine, lovely that you got a quick glimpse of your DGS, but wish you could see him for longer. 💐
Goodness it’s been cold here today. My feet have struggled to get above freezing point!
Family can be a heavy weight ann, hope life can be lighter for you very soon
Good luck with eBay soop. Good for you for changing to a stroller more suited to your needs.
A heart tugging glimpse of your grandson neine. You sure are a busy soul. Any energy to share?
Sorry you’re still struggling grandmab, our young ones do like to share far too much at times.
We’ll done for coping with double vision blossomimg, 🤞 for improvement soon.
Hope you’re all having a peaceful evening - well, that’s if you want it to be peaceful
. Be good everyone.
Evening folks, I am currently collapsed on the sofa, anticipating the next six days which all involve GC care, so please except my apologies if I am absent from this safe haven.
Grannygravy you need a hug. Good luck with the childcare. Cornergran I'm a bit better today thanks. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good one.
Lovely Kitcheners, I am still battling with getting images and descriptions of items which I want to sell on eBay. I will remain level-headed.
Have an appointment (re stoma hernia) at the Glasgow hospital for early next month.
A virtual comforting hug for all of you that deserve one.
Back to the business of doing my best not to hurl the computer through the front door. I keep reminding myself...no pain...no gain.
Good afternoon kitcheners from a very wet and soggy Inverness, grey skies and non stop drizzle all day so definitely a day to stay indoors with the heating on.
I was so sorry to read on the Good Morning thread that you’re still poorly grandmabatty , you’re having such a rotten time I hope things improve very soon, in the meantime some 💐 and ❤️
Hoping soop is doing ok
GG13 hope it’s all going well with the childcare - you’ll deserve a large 🍷 later!
Thank you Brook. Only sick once today so that's an improvement 😄
Good luck with the Ebay sales soop, I think listing the items is the most difficult part, once you’ve done that you can just sit back and wait …. 😀
grandmabatty good to hear that, hope that’s the end of it
Hope that is an improvement * grandmab*. It’s been a while now. Isn’t it a good job we love the grandchildren?
I’ll be quiet for a while, family from tomorrow until Monday. I think I’ve forgotten how to feed 8 people. Help!
Take care everyone. Back soon.
Let’s hope that’s it on it’s way out Grandmabatty 🤞
It’s cold here and wet, hopefully improving tomorrow, I potted on 28 vegetable seedlings in the greenhouse earlier. They need some warmth now, as do. I had a good 4” cut from my hair yesterday, cold neck!
More patience than me soop, hopefully you’ll get a good response.
Good luck this weekend cornergran get your delegating skills honed pdq.
MrJ is on dinner duty, sausage, mash and beans, just the job.
Have a pleasant evening all.
Hello everyone! Soop, I’m so glad you have an appointment lined up. My brother and his partner set off for Devon today. They are going to stay with our stepdad then various friends and cousins. They will be back in two weeks, stay the weekend at ours and back to Australia. I took my sister to Oxford to get the Heathrow bus this afternoon. I had forgotten how awful rush hour traffic is! Three quarters of an hour to get there and one and a quarter hours to get home. Nightmare. I am out at a friend’s tonight. It will be nice to relax. It was lovely having my family to stay, but all that bed making, all that food… . Younger son had good news yesterday- he is a civil servant and has been promoted to higher executive officer! He thought he hadn’t got it because when he gave his presentation, he was told to stop talking as he had gone on for too long! Have a good evening. Commiserations to all those in the kitchen suffering angst.
Congratulations to your son LLFL and for your appointment soop.
We have had a friend to stay for a few days so lots at talking! My voice gives up these days! Tomorrow is a small window to do some gardening before we go off to family in Leamington Spa to meet up with nephews, brother etc.
Next week is full on gardening 🤞
Have a good everyone and all!
Good evening lovely Kitcheners. The wonky eye is definitely showing improvement, but reading the screen is still hard work! It will settle, and it isn’t causing me any pain.
Hope you’re on the mend Grandmabatty, stomach bugs are nasty things.
Hope GrannyGravy is bearing up under the childcare duties!
I’m glad you finally got to speak to the stoma nurse soop and hope the face to face appointment goes ahead.
Hello, Kitcheners! I keep popping in to read of your joys, difficulties, illnesses and recoveries. Sometimes I write an update on TBTD's (Terminal Brain Tumour Daughter's) progress and then I delete it without posting. Perhaps today I'll actually post it.
So far, including a sudden trip to A&E needing steroids for a killer headache during the junior doctors' strike and during a little holiday she and family were taking in Yorkshire – the OGs (Other Grandparents) had to be scrambled – I'm so glad they are able to drop everything and come at a moment's notice to come and take care of the boys.... so far, DD and her lovely partner have taken it all in their stoical stride. There is some talk of further possible surgery to deal with the cyst that's next to the tumour and which is growing again but nothing is decided yet. A few days before the Yorkshire holiday DD and family had trooped up Kinder Scout. They are living their best lives and trying to do things they would be doing anyway had there been no tumour in their lives.
Meanwhile Minibaggs is home from uni for a couple of weeks still dealing with the trauma of finding her friend dead a few weeks ago. The funeral was lovely apparently and M was glad to be able to talk to members of her friend's family. It's difficult to imagine what it must be like to be in one's early twenties and to have lost two apparently healthy close friends to sudden death (suicide and drugs ruled out) already.
M drove me to hospital to have my arm cast removed on Wednesday. My wrist is still a bit useless but I have noticed small improvements while doing the exercises I've been told to do. The surgeon was pleased with the healing of the radius and told me a further appointment in two weeks won't be necessary unless I have any problems. I have to wear a removable splint for two weeks for the support as my wrist and hand are still weak. I've managed to clean my teeth and pick up a glass of water with my left hand though (I'm fairly ambidextrous and different jobs are allotted to each hand 😁). My right hand is grateful for a little rest!
Hello Baggs. Thank you for sharing with us - you must be proud of DD’s bravery. You have the kitchen with you.
It’s drizzling here but forecast to improve later.
Have a good day everyone x
I could hear the conversation between Storm and Finlay as they sat at the top of the stairs and watched me remove a cat sized load of fluff off each step with that fabulous tool thing that every pet household should have...it went like this..
Finlay....Bro what is she doing?
Storm...stay put little one... It's called housework ..she is either ill or more likely people are expected anytime soon. Either way she is dangerous....she hates housework and avoids it if she can and would much rather be in the garden or baking.
Finlay....why does she do it then?
Storm....because she likes to think that she is some sort of domestic goddess in the eyes of the people that come and visit.
Finlay...isn't she?
Storm..you have a lot to learn... Never venture into a cupboard and if anyone opens a drawer...run for your life. My advice to you today is lie low... Don't be tempted to sink those baby teeth into her heel when she is on her hands and knees scrubbing the bathroom floor. Take a leaf out of Ned's book and pretend to be unconscious as sure as eggs are eggs it's going to get messy and block your ears when she screams...'How can a dog shed SO much hair and not be bald'
Finlay....eek...she actually screams?
Storm.... That's just the beginning...if it really goes tits up she starts muttering words no self respecting fur shedding...mud spreading..tissue shredding dog ever wants to hear.
Finlay...oooh what's that?
Storm.... Where is the nearest Dogs Trust?
Finlay... How long does all this last?
Storm... Until all the visitors have gone... Then she reverts to her usual slutty housewife role and we get patted and cuddled and given treats galore.
Finlay...I think I'll just creep in to this corner and look cute.
Storm....wise move... I'm just going to creep upstairs to the bedroom and shed a few more tissues before all hell breaks loose.
Sorry to read a few on here feeling poorly and generally feeling low hope things improve soon. I am still waiting for injection in hip. Just getting ready to go for lunch with a friend apart from that nothing much happening here .
Oh Baggs..I should have read the updated before posting. I keep you and the family in my prayers. Your DD is so brave.. and it's lovely to read that they are living the best life possible. A lesson for me when I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself!!!!!.
Nae bother, Naughty. I enjoyed your little story 😀
