Naughty I recently bought a keep -everything-in swimsuit. Unfortunately, when I struggled into it, I had four boobs instead of two and it looked like puppies fighting in a sack! Good luck

Naughtyneine Wed 24-May-23 13:59:46

I leapt ( well almost) out of bed this morning...stripped the cushion covers off for washing... Did 20 minutes of exercises on what the twins used to call Neine's jiggy machine (I have a wonderful video of them both on it laughing and shaking and jiggling...and if I'm feeling low and missing them so much it hurts ...I watch it and smile and Thank God I had those times with them). Then I caught up with emails before going to aqua aerobics. I'm now summoning the strength to go in search of a new swimsuit. The one I bought as a last resort at the end of last year is struggling to contain my natural float aids and there is definitely something wrong with the elastic around the legs as the cantilever to the natural floats aka my btm was doing it's very best to make a bid for freedom. There was a very dodgy moment when I lunged as instructed and most of the material that should have been covering my derriere disappeared and I thought I was going to need tweezers to retrieve it. In the end I backed against the side of the pool and squirmed like a rabid dog until some semblance of decency was restored. Wish me luck ladies🙂🙂🙂

Good afternoon kitcheners. Annsixty you definitely have a guardian angel watching over you! Soop good news on the portrait progression. Glad you are home safe Brook.
So far I have been to the chiropodist, visited my friend's partner with his birthday gift and stayed for coffee, shopped for clothes at Matalan(cheap t shirts that will get covered in sun tan lotion and a maxi dress to hide my blindingly white legs) and picked up more clothes and sandals from Next. I have thoroughly enjoyed my morning. I'll visit mum after her dinner as she doesn't get visitors then. It's a warm day and I'm about to go and tidy up the garden. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Mornin' my darlin's. After another day standing/sitting at the easel, I feel more positive that I may be, at long last, heading in the right direction. Very deep breath...sigh...hmm

ann I am relieved that you escaped the dirty deeds of the so-called cleaner.

When in my youth, I was asked out on a date with some chap that my boss at the time described as a "good guy", I accepted and was transported along the M1 in an Aston Martin to a Japanese restaurant in London. Talk about a poser!. He spotted a police car as we left the restaurant. He put his foot down and I was scared to death as he hurtled back to where I lived. Some time later, he was arrested for running a "business" involving stealing expensive cars and "re-marketing" them. Boy, oh boy!

Baggs Wed 24-May-23 11:50:29

Gosh, ann! How scary and sinister. "Your good saint" protected you indeed.

That's an Ancient Mariner-ism 😊

annsixty Wed 24-May-23 11:34:08

Good morning all.
I have dusted and hoovered as a friend is coming this afternoon.
Her house is not allowed to have dust settle or furniture go out of line.
She will though accept me as she finds me as she is very kind.
Some regulars may remember my tale of the cleaner I engaged who never came.
After her apologies and explanation as she obviously needed the job I agreed for her to come but never heard again.
I didnt get in touch but wrote her off.
In last night's evening paper she was covnvicted of stealing from clients and selling stuff on ebay.
She received a suspended sentence.
I had someone watching over me on that occasion.

Good evening kitchen pals, I’m feeling a bit tired now after travelling home yesterday and helping out with DGD this evening. She’s fast asleep in bed here now and I won’t be far behind her …. Whilst I was picking up DGD after school I briefly saw DGS, he’s growing up so fast now and whilst he said hi to me and smiled there was no way he was coming over for a cuddle…far too embarrassing these days! 🤣
Sorry to hear the wee man is poorly grandmabatty, hope you do t succumb and he’s much better soon - Enjoy those cuddles though whilst you can!
Pleased to hear you’re feeling a bit better Llfl and you’ve had a good day, you too nannytopsy
Hope you sleep well Blossoming
naughtyneine love your stories - hope the plants do well!

Grandmabatty Tue 23-May-23 20:45:10

Good evening Kitcheners. I could have sworn I had posted earlier and here it is...not! I was up at five and I am so tired now. Like you Blossoming it'll be an early night for me. Dgs2 is quite poorly now with a nasty cold so he wasn't too happy today. Poor wee man. We went to the park but he was too tired and really wanted a sleep, bless him. Then he couldn't sleep for long as his wee nose was bunged up. Dgs1 is a bit choked up too. Naughty I'm bound to get it too! Have a good evening Kitcheners

Nannytopsy Tue 23-May-23 20:28:34

Evening!
Gardened, sorted ironing (but haven’t done it!), visited a neighbour who’s unwell and sorted out the shoes. Feeling gently smug.
Hope everyone is as well as they can be tonight.
NNGB

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 23-May-23 19:40:52

Hello all. I perked up a bit today although I still have a cold. At least I was able to do everything on my list, including a trip to Waitrose, Charity shop, jewellers for a new watch strap, Specsavers for a new case (free) and feeding a friend’s fish. Phew. Have a good evening Kitchen people.

Blossoming Tue 23-May-23 19:28:39

Good evening dear Kitcheners. A service engineer came to look at the non-working oven and declared it deceased. It is very old so not unexpected. A new one has been ordered and will be delivered and fitted on Friday morning. We don’t use the main oven very much. Early night for me, struggling to stay awake.

Take care all, TOYA.

Naughtyneine Tue 23-May-23 10:06:25

Yia..I do feel for you. In the space of an hour DOH got promoted..we were given notice to have to leave our rental accommodation ( we had been there 8 months after selling my house in Surrey and not begging able to find anywhere to buy ) and then a telephone call to say my hip replacement op was scheduled for 6 weeks time. It looked like for a time I would recuperating in a caravan with 3 dogs. Can you get some lavender essential oil for your burns...it's the very best for taking the pain away and reducing scarring. It's one of the very few essential oils you can put directly on your skin.
I'm like you Brook...I get a frisson of excitement at any kind of terminal...station ...port.
I hope LLFL and Blossoming and NannyT you feel better soon.
GrandmaB... I'm keeping my fingers crossed you don't pick up whatever lurgy your DGs1 is going down with...you and your Mum certainly don't need it.
Anyone know of a person who can go to a Post Office and come out with 9 runner bean plants and 2 cannas....and then that same person can pop to Asda for some milk and come away with 2 malva plants reduced to 34p each (currently being rehydrated and perking up nicely). If you do find anyone can you tell them they have an identical twin living in Somerset......

Blossoming Mon 22-May-23 18:23:53

Yiayia how very disappointing that must have been. You will find your right home soon. Please take care of yourself flowers

brook2704 Mon 22-May-23 18:10:43

Thank you all, I’m just waiting to board the flight now - I really enjoy travelling, not so much the airport experiences but everything else in between
Good luck with the quiz tonight Jax and hoping your mum is doing ok grandmabatty
Lovely photo Blossoming!

Jaxjacky Mon 22-May-23 18:01:20

Hi all, pleased you’re on the up Nannytopsy your turn next llfl fingers crossed for Friday, preferably before then.
Oh Yia how flipping annoying, your brain is probably busy with house stuff.
Safe journey brook you need a loyalty card!
Take pleasure in your new togs Grandmabatty feet up soon.
I’ve had a fairly inactive day as I’ve been on the voluntary phone line, quite busy. I’m now mugging up for quiz tonight, as much as you can, mug might be appropriate later!
Enjoy your evening.

Grandmabatty Mon 22-May-23 17:27:38

Yiayia it's so rotten for you. I hope you get this one or something nicer comes along. Brook safe journey home. You are a seasoned traveller.
I've just dropped the boys off at home. It's been a long day. Dgs2 is going through a hitting phase so "kind hands" has been said lots. Dgs1 is a bit under the weather and quite lethargic so probably sickening for something. I'm going to visit mum in quarter of an hour but I don't stay long. I've ordered more holiday wear and undies from M and S which I get tomorrow. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Blossoming Mon 22-May-23 17:19:41

Hello all. The neurofatigue smacked me down yesterday, had a very lazy day and early bed. I’m behind with the news so please forgive anything I’ve missed. Today I have finally organised someone to come and repair the fan oven tomorrow. I suspect the element needs replacing. We rarely use it now but it is handy when there are several dishes needing cooking/warming. I’ve washed all the towels and line dried them. Then spent a couple of hours on the marina taking photos and enjoying the sunshine. Mr. B has been gardening. We’re both hot and tired now, it will be pasta for tea. Quick and easy.

One of my photographic efforts from earlier. Have a good evening all.

brook2704 Mon 22-May-23 17:09:39

Good afternoon kitchen pals, I’m just in the lounge at Gatwick waiting for my flight home to Inverness , I’ve had a lovely time at DD1s and will be back again soon , DH is picking me up at Inverness airport later 😀
Oh yia what can I say - I really feel for you, it must be so stressful trying to find your ideal place and then someone comes along and whips it from under your feet ! Hopefully another better property will come along soon 💐
Hope you’re feeling much better soon llfl - and you too nannytopsy
Take care all x

Oh Yiayia, I do feel for you! 🤞

Yiayia4 Mon 22-May-23 16:05:51

Hello lovely Kitcheners!that sounds a lovely day Neine so glad you enjoyed it.
I’m sure your painting will be perfect very soon Soop.

The search for the perfect home continues. The offer on the bungalow was rejected and someone else offered more, so it’s now under offer. However if it falls through they will consider us.!!who knows. We have fingers and toes crossed that our buyer stays with us.☘️I must be under stress burnt my arm on the iron last week then, the next day spilt boiling water on the other arm, both are really sore.😪 Serves me right for not concentrating.

Thinking of Mr and Mrs Urms.🥰
Have a good evening everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 22-May-23 15:30:34

Hello everyone. I’ve been having a duvet day. I caught a rotten cold off my granddaughter and her mum. It manifested itself yesterday so I hope it’s gone by Friday as I’m going back to Kew for the weekend. Have a good evening.

Nannytopsy Mon 22-May-23 14:33:41

Hello everyone! I slept pretty well all day yesterday but I’m back to normal today. I still don’t fancy curry though 🤢
We took the granddog to the dog field today - it’s about 200 yards from the house, so very convenient! She is on the lazy side so we take a bag of chopped up sausages each, which persuades her to run between us. She’s asleep now.
I’ve had a good day with WI and church admin so now it’s time for a couple of hours in the garden. It’s still chilly though.
I hope the portrait is better this time soop. You are very determined!

Grannmarie Mon 22-May-23 13:35:50

Soop, I love how you persevere, you're so determined! I'm sure you'll produce a perfect pet portrait very soon.

Then you can start on Neine's illustrations! ( Only kidding 🤣)

Hello 👋 Neine, sounds like you had a wonderful break. So sorry to hear about your friend.💕🙏

Safe journey home Brook!

soop Mon 22-May-23 12:35:34

Naughtyneine In a previous life, I lived in Kingswear and worked in Dartmouth.

So sorry, dear Kitcheners, I have had to abandon pet portrait attempt number three. Am now preparing to tackle number four. Hours of work ahead. I shall return...^eventually^. smile
