Good Morning Everyone,
Its a twilight start with signs of rain earlier here in brackley.
Today for me one last trip on the bus to Bicester this side of my operation.
I have later around early afternoon got to ring the Churchill Hospital for my admission time on Monday.
Today and tomorrow will be last opportunity to eat solid food such as my favourite take aways before liquids on Sunday .
Take Care,
Mick

I have an old school bell that I used to summon DH from the garden to the phone. Perhaps you could get one, MD

Marydoll Fri 17-Mar-23 07:51:53

Gingster, I feel so sorry for your DD. She has been through so much.

It doesn't really help her at the moment, but it will pass. Don't be surprised if her mood is very low.
We always hurt the ones we love and I was unbearable at times. 💐

It will deliberately fall on deaf ears, DM

Morning Mick and All.

Another cloudy day in South Bucks, however the Spring flowers are a delight in our garden. 🌼☘️

Well done grandMattie for all your clearing out, it can’t be easy, but you are working at it systematically.

Really enjoyed ‘The King and I’ last night that is touring the country. I’m singing in my head ‘Getting to know you’

Good morning and Happy St Patrick’s day everyone.

I didn’t have time to post yesterday and want to thank you for all the kind birthday wishes.

This is such a very stressful time grandMattie, you really are coping very well, your organisational skills are awe inspiring!

A quieter day today, DD1 is coming for coffee and cake this morning, the official spring opening of my garden room, so here’s hoping the sunshine here lasts till then!

Wishing everyone the best day possible, off to get ready for mass now where I’ll think about all of us.🦩

ginny Fri 17-Mar-23 07:59:50

Good morning, it is feeling a little warmer here in N. Bucks but still dull.
I’m taking a trip to our nearest M&S food hall and Dunelm this morning and then off to WI knit group this afternoon. Also want to start preparing the materials for two craft projects I am leading next week.
Thinking of those with worries or troubles and wishing all a day with some smiles.

Alygran Fri 17-Mar-23 08:00:17

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is up!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
Off to stay with DD2 for the weekend. Will get to catch up with DD1 and DGS too. Happy Grandma!
Sorry to hear about your DD gingster, I hope she begins to feel better soon.
Wishing you all a good day.

Morning all, back from our Cheltenham trip, my legs ache from so much walking, marvellous sleep last night, it’s grey and mild in S Hants.
I hope all collectors are prompt gMattie enjoy your lunch.
Our bedding is in the machine, more housework today and cottage pie for dinner.
Our local has music for St Patrick’s Day, we’ll wander down early, MrJ is Irish ☘️, so there’ll be some craic with friends.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning from another dry but dull North Yorkshire. Hoping it stays dry long enough to get to the allotment for a couple of hours this morning. Was awake during the night and feel really tired. Still in shock from the bad news re DSi on Wednesday. Many thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts and flowers. Will try and remain upbeat at least whilst we believe it can be dealt with. She has yet to tell her DSs who I hope will step up and help with everything but history doesn’t bear that out. DH is out for the day today so I can please myself what to do.
Hope everyone’s day goes to plan.

Good morning from a brightish Leicestershire.

Picking up a prescription in town today so coffee will be involved. Also need to go to M&S and buy some Easter eggs as we are seeing the grandchildren over Easter.

Sorry to hear your DD is suffering so much Gingster she is often in my thoughts.
Wishing everyone a good day.

cornergran Fri 17-Mar-23 08:08:00

Morning Mick, morning All from a milder corner of Somerset. A much better day is forecast

Dust duly removed yesterday little else happened other than Mr C retreating with a jigsaw while I did not a lot. . Hoping for more activity today. We’ll take advantage of the better weather and head for a coast walk, not too far as energy has left me. We’ll go via the recycling centre and a charity shop, both on the way.

Take care everyone. Special thoughts to those with health issues, hope Friday is kind to us all.

Wyllow3 Fri 17-Mar-23 08:08:26

All the best for your busy day GMattie and that’s a pretty pattern Beechnut.
My BiL is Irish and has kept up with his Gaelic classes/friends all his life, must send greetings. thoughts for your DD Gingster and shock news Abitbarmy

Greetings from S Yorks where it’s a dull day.

Yesterdays Ultrasound showed a very large limpoma with blood flow in. I’m waiting for Doc decision but given size it looks like removal and a just in case biopsy.

I’ve got my annual health MOT early so hoping to get news of recommendations. The lump doesn’t hurt but makes my shoulder look like it has a large 1980/s shoulder pad in. We are calling it The Alien in my family.

Should really tackle the admin backlog but I’ve a good book on the go.

Gingster Fri 17-Mar-23 08:08:44

ThanksMarydoll ❤️
Thanks too to Brook and Alygran.❤️❤️

GrannySomerset Fri 17-Mar-23 08:11:50

Happy St Patrick’s day to all with Irish forebears. Cheltenham should be fun.

Admiration for gMattie and for Gingster too (how lovely to be able to support her DD at such a time); hope Marydoll has a successful trip out. I am early today because the odd job man is here treating the stained spare room ceiling after the roof leak. Later this morning I am going to a memorial service for a member of our congregation and will doubtless be quietly amused at what a social occasion these events are.

monk08 Fri 17-Mar-23 08:14:16

Good morning all from a bright Black country.
Happy St Patrick's day to our Irish grans☘
We are meeting the family after school and going to the refurbished hungry horse for tea, they've added a soft play area which the boys will enjoy.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Marydoll Fri 17-Mar-23 08:15:34

Granny Somerset, I know exactly what you mean about funerals. grin

Liberty Fri 17-Mar-23 08:25:42

Good morning from a dreary looking Suffolk.

So sorry to read of the stresses and difficulties felt by those this morning because of family illnesses and other issues…..hope today brings some relief.

I seem to have been out and about much of the week so should( note not must!) tackle jobs such as ironing. Since the weekend looks busy I might have to knuckle down and just do it.

Hope there are glimmers of sunshine,if not rays, in everybody’s day.

multicolourswapshop Fri 17-Mar-23 08:26:04

Good morning all from a windy wet and cold start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.
It’s a good day today we’re having a lovely friend coming for lunch I’ve a lasagna waiting with a cream bun. My appetite has greatly improved as of late and I better take care don’t want to put the weight back on.

I’m thinking of having a meet up with friends once again.

Take care all my gnetters you’ve been a great comfort to me

ShazzaKanazza Fri 17-Mar-23 08:29:55

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. A lovely mild day is forecast I think.

grandMattie hope your day isn’t too stressful and you get chance to put your feet up.

Gingster sorry your DD is feeling so poorly it’s so good she has you for support💐

Susan I miss doing my daughters hair she was a dancer so I created all sorts of styles in her hair. GDs hair is down her back now and I’m always asking if I can braid it. She always says no.

I’m getting my hair done roots and highlights later and have no childcare so I can chill this afternoon. Tonight there is a festival in Hull called the Awakening it’s an illuminations festival in the old town so we will have a look to that. Later this evening we will walk to the casino for a meal.

Have a lovely day everyone. Thoughts to those struggling with stress and illness 🌻🌻

dustyangel Fri 17-Mar-23 08:40:37

Good morning everyone from a brightening Algarve where it’s 13°.
It should be fine today which I’m very glad of as we have the whole family coming out for a weekend of celebrating our 80th birthdays. DH’s was yesterday and mine is next week.

I’ve mixed feelings about it all, delighted to see them of course but not really sure about the meal organised for twenty people tonight. Then we’ll have an open house afternoon tomorrow.

The organisation was a complete surprise to us and we’ve been firmly told that we don’t have to do a thing but the best laid plans and all that ……..
At least DD1 has agreed that organising something in Portugal is completely different to organising something in England! 😁

I’ll check on arrival times again in a minute, from experience it changes frequently, and then get going to fit getting my hair done while they settle in.
Hopefully I can catch up with all your posts later.

luluaugust Fri 17-Mar-23 08:45:30

Good morning from a rainy W Kent. Off to a U3A meeting with DH this morning and then a quick shop before going to DDs to cover GS5 coming home early. I have had strict instructions from DD not to do any ironing and just relax but I can't sit around for 3 hours or I will seize up so the ironing fits in nicely.
Gingster best wishes to your DD.
gM fingers crossed everything goes to plan.
Best wishes to all

Georgesgran Fri 17-Mar-23 08:52:58

Good morning from a bright, sunny Durham. DD2 is taking me up the beautiful Northumberland coast for an early Mother’s Day lunch in a restaurant recommended by the Hairy Bikers. I really need to up my game, as I’m still feeling in the doldrums - so unlike me.
Sorry to hear of so many family members unwell - sometimes we wish we could swap places.
Mick please heed Marydoll’s advice - you are so close now.
Best wishes to all. X

Good to see you wanting to be out and about again Multicolourswapshop.
Don’t do the ironing Lulu I used to hate it when my mum did mine.

EkwaNimitee Fri 17-Mar-23 09:04:43

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.

Finally I'm here, couldn't post this morning until I'd logged in and then got told my password was wrong. It wasn't but I had to change it. I nearly gave up so as to get on with other stuff....

I had a quietish day yesterday, still a tad under the weather with what feels like an inflamed stomach which is still evident this morning. Trying to ignore it today and get on with things.
I shall do the ironing and then maybe a bit of gentle pottering in the garden.

I hope your DD soon takes a turn for the better Gingster, it all sounds very unpleasant for her.

And I hope your day goes as planned grandMattie.

Wishing you all a good day.
