The SNP is in a ‘tremendous mess’ apparently.

Since these two stepped down within weeks of one another the SNP seems to be imploding at a rate of knots.

What on Earth is going on? There is so much in-flighting.

Is that meant to be a deep and meaningful observation?

Or just truism as a put down?

M0nica

Well you certainly do not, Volver

This is travel of debate we're at now, is it?

volver3 Sun 26-Mar-23 22:19:46

Travel?

The level!

Kate Forbes will never get the leadership roll she’s a homophobic how horrible is that in todays society regardless of her religious belief, the best man’s going to win smile

Aveline Mon 27-Mar-23 07:53:47

There are no best men in SNP.

That's what I find worrying mcss. If she was to win, which is possible with the preferential vote system, it means many of the voters support her views.

I'm childish? Is it childish to point out the blatantly obvious? Humza has notably failed in every ministerial position he's held. How can he possibly be taken seriously?
In a previous post you have likened unionists like myself to toddlers. I can only assume you don't have much experience of toddlers and their devastating logic. SNP have made a mess of so many areas of government and it's never their fault. They have repeatedly covered up and deliberately refused to release information required even in legal proceedings. What can anyone intelligent make of it all?

Look, you hate the SNP and the very concept of independence. I think we've all worked that out by now.

Humza is ineffectual (which I said on my first post on this thread, by the way) You say there's no "best men" in the SNP. If it's not "childish", it's prejudice and bigotry.

You choose.

Kate Forbes is homophobic and will drag you back to the 1950s
Ash Regan rebelled against the Party Whip

hmm

Who are the best men or have none of them come forward for the post of leader?

Just curious

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 27-Mar-23 10:51:40

It’s taking volver an unusually long time to come up with some names Calli. I’m curious too.

None of them have come forward. I suspect because they know that its is a poison chalice and whoever replaces Nicola is doomed. Or because they are in Westminster, not Holyrood.

Angus Robertson
Annabelle Ewing
Emma Roddick (But she's still too inexperienced. Watch this space)
Mhairi Black
Phillipa Whitford

BTW the reason I don't support Regan isn't that she rebelled against the party whip. It's that she wants to pick a fight with the English, has no idea how to achieve independence effectively and so has just made something up, and is a puppet of Salmond and Cherry.

Did you notice that 4 of my "best men" are women?

Aveline Mon 27-Mar-23 11:51:16

Most 'best' men are!

volver3 Mon 27-Mar-23 11:58:58

Aveline

Most 'best' men are!

Ooohh - J K Rowling will be after you soon Aveline 🤣

Aveline Mon 27-Mar-23 12:37:29

I meant that the best people are women. Real women that is.

Thanks for the explanation and the list.

I'm surprised none of them felt able to go for the leadership though; yes, leading a party could be a poisoned chalice but surely they have a vision of how they would want the party to progress and would want to lead their party into the future?

Callistemon21 Mon 27-Mar-23 13:15:43

Annabelle Ewing
Is she Winnie Ewing's daughter?

volver3 Mon 27-Mar-23 13:18:51

Daughter in law, I think.

volver3 Mon 27-Mar-23 13:21:07

Mhairi and Phillipa did right not to stand, as the leader of the party should be in Holyrood, not Westminster.

Emma's too inexperienced but I think she will stand in the future.

Annabelle probably doesn't want it.

I was sorry that Angus didn't stand.

Callistemon21 Mon 27-Mar-23 13:22:38

Just Googled, she is her daughter, she tells an interesting story from the perspective of a 7 year old about election night in 1967.

It's Humza.

Ash looks like she's sucking lemons.

Aveline Mon 27-Mar-23 14:13:07

😂 so its Useless Humza - a Unionist's dream come true. His long record of failure speaks volumes as to how successful he'll be as FM.

ptarmigan Mon 27-Mar-23 14:13:28

Thank goodness!

volver3 Mon 27-Mar-23 14:15:10

Ah well. At least we won't be going to war with England.
