The SNP is in a ‘tremendous mess’ apparently.

Since these two stepped down within weeks of one another the SNP seems to be imploding at a rate of knots.

What on Earth is going on? There is so much in-flighting.

The Queensferry Crossing was opened before its target date but after its stretch date. It was also well within budget.

It's used in Project Management courses as an example of how projects should be run. And no, not by me.

The endless stream of misinformation is starting to resemble stalking Aveline.

Aveline Tue 28-Mar-23 16:16:15

Havers Volver you're obviously very selective in your reading. But you know that.
I'll leave you and your 'fiends'. I'm off to pray for poor Scotland. It needs it.

Aveline Tue 28-Mar-23 16:22:07

Oh and while I remember here's a screenshot of the merest search re Queensferry crossing

volver3 Tue 28-Mar-23 16:27:01

I guess this independent report is just lies then.

I know you're a lost cause Aveline, but I will continue to challenge your -lies misinformation so that other readers get the right information.

You don't know much about project management, do you Aveline?

M0nica Tue 28-Mar-23 18:17:45

Humza gets the leadership of the SNP with 52.1 % of the vote, 48.2% against .

The vote for Brexit was 51.9 for, 48.1% again.

So he got a good secure vote and we can be sure that there will be no arguing or disagreeing about the result after such a thumping victory. Who will be his Boris Johnson or Jacob Rees-Mogg, not to mention his Northern Ireland Protocol?

I think he has made a bad mistake by not offering Kate Forbes her old job in charge of Finance which she was thought to have done wel.

Instead he tried to demote her so she has refused to be part of his administration.

Not a good start.

Grammaretto Tue 28-Mar-23 19:24:27

Apparently she (Kate) didn't want a high profile job in his (Humza's ) government.

Aveline Tue 28-Mar-23 19:45:45

It was a calculated insult. Of course she turned it down. Big mistake Useless. Better to have her in the tent etc

She was offered a job which was a demotion and turned it down.

This is all going swimmingly so far 😀

So is the SNP getting the extra ‘I’? SNIP.

Did her religious views get in the way?

I agree better to have her in the tent.. Or is she postion herself, so when it implodes, she ready in the wings?

LadyHonoriaDedlock Wed 29-Mar-23 11:03:05

Aveline, remind me how late and how far over budget Crossrail was?

LadyHonoriaDedlock Wed 29-Mar-23 11:08:45

Did Kate Forbes seriously expect the finance brief? After the vicious personal attacks during the campaign? Chickens coming home to roost.

But I agree, this all looks like a bit of a mess. I don't doubt that, despite the circumstantial nit-picking, Humza is a capable leader but he doesn't have the charisma of his predecessor. The post-referendum SNP has always been an uneasy alliance brought together to further the cause of independence but it's looking very fragile now.

Aveline Wed 29-Mar-23 11:52:37

Sorry Honoria remind me, is Crossrail in Scotland?

volver3 Wed 29-Mar-23 11:59:15

Sorry to butt in LHD

The Scottish government is held to higher standards than anybody else.

Even when a PRINCE2 Practitioner (that's me wink) tells you that a project is a shining example of how project management should be done, even though it comes in well under budget and within target date, even though it has spectacularly met its objectives, all some people see is "Scotland baaaad".

If people keep talking down the good things, maybe I can understand where the "Scottish cringe" came from.

Sorry Honoria remind me, is Crossrail in Scotland?

Apparently it’s in London Aveline. I’d never heard of it so I just Googled it.

M0nica Wed 29-Mar-23 15:44:55

Never heard of 'Scotlsnd baaaad'

Scotland is meant to be a land of engineers and good business man. It is just that they seem to pefer to practice their craft anywhere but Scotland. No idea why.

volver3 Wed 29-Mar-23 16:04:17

It is just that they seem to prefer to practice their craft anywhere but Scotland.

Really?

Any evidence?

I see it more as a plan for world domination..... 😏

Aveline Wed 29-Mar-23 16:11:23

Oh Volver!

Aveline Wed 29-Mar-23 16:12:51

Scotland is not baaaaaad. The SNP government, however, certainly is!

volver3 Wed 29-Mar-23 16:23:01

And the bridge?

The bridge you make things up about?

The bridge which is a peak example of how to do civil engineering projects?

The bridge that has met all of its objectives?

Why is it now that you don't have a good word for it? Could it possibly be because it was built during the time the SNP has been in power?

Pick something that actually went wrong, - you seem to think there's plenty. Some facts would be nice, to go with it. But if you decide to complain about something that actually went really, really well, I'll just have to think you depend on Murdo Fraser's tweets for your information and will parrot any old rubbish because you think its shows the SNP (and Scotland) in a bad light.

(I'm remarkably protective of that bridge...)

Aveline Wed 29-Mar-23 16:46:59

Do you mean the bridge that they eventually finished? That has to be closed when it ices up? Other bridges seem to manage...
I don't actually care about the bridge any more there is so much other evidence of incompetence in Scottish govt commissioning but I reckon you know that.
