Forgot to add that I hope gM operation goes ahead today with good results. X
Mandelson failed security vetting. Starmer says he didn’t know
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and raining outside here in brackley this morning .
Trying to get used to the clock change so am a little behind as to time .
Take Care,
Mick
Forgot to add that I hope gM operation goes ahead today with good results. X
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s another sunny start. Such a pity it rarely lasts beyond lunch time. We had very heavy rain again yesterday and I’m getting very behind with the garden.
Called into the opticians yesterday to follow up on my referral to the hospital for AMD only to find it was still in the ‘draft’ box. They are hugely apologetic. It’s almost 4 months since it should have gone in. Frustrating.
After church I’m heading up the dale to my cousin’s 80th birthday lunch.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning Mick, morning All from a calm, cloudy corner of Somerset.
Enjoyed a short marina walk yesterday. Slept most of the afternoon and much to my surprise all night. So why do I still feel tired?
Another quiet day ahead. Mr C will change the bed, we’ll put together our questions for his hospital appointment tomorrow and generally faff about.
Good wishes for your cataract operation grandmattie. Soon be over.
Take care everyone.
Good morning from Durham. My day is to be a combination of other GNs. I’m still lying in bed, adjusting to the time change, going to a garden centre, reading the papers, crossword and might see DDs.
As well as good news from Gingster yesterday, I think Blossoming was also pleased with her medical results.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from Sefton. It is bright & sunny here for a change. Hope it lasts the day🤞.
No plans today apart from a quick visit to the farm shop for vegetables for dinner. I have a turkey thigh to roast.
Hope your cataract op goes well grandMattie. Have a pleasant Sunday all.
Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, what a difference from the glorious weather I have been used to for the last couple of weeks. Wishing I was back there.....
Spent yesterday unpacking, sorting the washing out, and downloading photos from my phone to the laptop; had to Google instructions for that again as I had forgotten how to do it. Then found that the USB cable that I had only used once before was splitting, so have just ordered another off a certain on-line store. Have ordered a pack of two this time. Thought I would make a photobook of my holiday, but am really struggling for the site to do what I want - shall need assistance from DD or DS....
DD messaged yesterday to say she would pick me up later today to go out for lunch, then have a wander round a garden centre - what a lovely DD she is!
Have a Sainsbury's delivery coming in an hour or so so must make an effort and be showered and dressed before it arrives.
Horrified to find out I have put about 4lb on during my holiday - need to lose about half a stone before my cruise in July!
Hoping Sunday turns out well for all.
Good morning everyone from a -1 temp in Aberdeenshire where I’m happily staying the weekend with my daughter and 2 grandsons who are a delight they’re both good at granny hugs I’ll be going home to the east coast of Fife tomorrow
Thinking of those less fortunate than I am I am so blessed
Good morning. Was awake early due to someone’s alarm going off and then dozed again.
Had a lovely sunny afternoon at the park yesterday with DGSs 2&3. Welly boots were put to use for jumping in muddy puddles. Smallest DGS kept saying ‘I Peppa Pig’
Today will be quiet with a small roast and time in the craft room.
Wishing all the best day possible.
Good morning from dreary Essex.
Just waiting for ds2 to come in for breakfast. He was in Essex yesterday to visit DD and then go out with all his old pals. He stayed over night with one of them , will come in here before heading back to his family in Hertfordshire. So lovely to see him. He has a calming, gentle influence . ❤️.
Dd will come here for lunch and I’ll take DGD for her swimming lesson. The twins might come but they have a labouring job for the weekend so we probably won’t see them.
Hope your cataract op goes well GM . You have so much on your plate. A very strong lady 💐.
Enjoy your plant sale MD . 🪴🪴.
Happy holidays and love to all. 🌷
Baubles that toilet on the stairheid was freezing in winter!
Marydoll until I was twelve years old I too lived in a tenement flat, very like the Glasgow one except ours had no inside toilet, just the shared lavatory on the landing. The move to a house with a bathroom felt like a huge luxury.
Gingster I’ve just seen that your DD is home, I’m so pleased for you all.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dreary damp South Yorkshire. It was lovely yesterday and I managed to get some pruning and tidying done in the garden but for the most part it was sitting in the conservatory reading. DD was supposed to be running the Sheffield half marathon today but she is still testing positive for covid, so that’s out, as is the Sunday lunch I was supposed to cooking for them afterwards☹️. So it will be a ‘suck it and see’ day for me.
Have the best day you can folks.
GrandMattie, my DS also chose to keep her ‘odd vision’ when she had her cataracts done. She inherited it from our dad.
MawtheMerrier , I’ll have to find the instructions to change the clock in our car. The computer thingy is almost beyond my comprehension 😂.
It’s dry and only 3 degrees here in Co Durham. Having a lazy day.
Have a nice, easy Sunday everyone.
Marydoll 🤣
Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire.
Not much on the agenda today. Roast beef for lunch.
WWM2 asked about our cleared garden bed. Our gardener is doing a planting plan for us. We don't garden just enjoy looking at it, I am embarrassed to say.
Good morning from a grey, damp NE where it is 4 degrees.
Only one GD visited yesterday, the chatty one who plays the piano, we had a lovely evening.
DS kindly changed the time on my three ovens before he went home, I would have had to look for the instruction book.
Today I am going out for lunch with my sister and BIL, just a small restaurant that makes the most yummy Tarte Tatin.
Have a good day all.
Good morning all from beneath the duvet as it is ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️ down outside (again) unlike yesterdays lovely Spring sunshine.
How different it was years ago when you had to go round the house changing all the clocks before bedtime- cooker, CH boiler, TV and video, clock radio etc .
I had the instruction booklet all ready for the new boiler clock display and then thought (hoped) hang on, I bet it will update itself! Correct. Just my clock radio to do then - oh and the car.
For those who enjoy him, here is todays Matt, wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.
Morning from a rainy S Hants. Enjoy your break Blue Dorset is beautiful.
Good news your daughter is home Gingster, hope she continues to improve.
My daughter is now driving again with her cast on, she had a practice yesterday but will only make small journeys.
MrJ cut thé grass yesterday for the first time and we started prepping the raised bed.
Today will be not a lot, crossword from yesterday and indoor sowing of seeds.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩
As my mother would say to me, GMBatty, You are a cheeky wee besom!! 😂
That's partly the reason for taking only one car.😂
I noticed on another thread that you worked in the wee county.
DH worked with your boss, the Director of Education. They were colleagues in the old Strathclyde Region days
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and grey. BlueBalou your holiday sounds lovely. NanaDana have a relaxing time at your caravan. Marydoll will there be space in only one car for all your purchases?
Yesterday, apart from a shop and collecting parcels, my day was very quiet. I was tired and fell asleep in the afternoon.
Today I think we are meeting at my friend's house to sort out what needs done. Have a good day all.
Good morning from down South. Blue sky.
Have a bit of an ear infection. Day of rest for me.
Good morning from E Kent. Yet another grey day. We don’t get much rain! Just the gloom.
I fell asleep again waiting for Mick to open. My head gets messed up with the clock change.
Iris’ operation went well. She was asking for food almost the minute she got home and was eating her parents out of house and home..
The cataract operation is this afternoon. The doctor offered to do my second eye next week, when he heard I was moving, but I declined. I’ll have it done later.
He was very amused when I asked to keep my odd eyesight- one eye long sighted, the other short, like I’ve been all my life. 😆
Hope you have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its only 2°C.
Glad you enjoyed your day out Baubles. I quite fancy a trip to the tenement flat, as I was brought up in one.
I remember the gas lamps in the close, communal washing getting done in the wash house on a Monday and the elderly lady on the ground floor, with her black range.
I made it to vigil Mass last night for the first time since Christmas. Feeling very anxious about going, I had no need to worry. I got such a warm welcome, especially from the P.P, who greeted me with: Welcome home! I was quite touched.
Much to my delight, Dollie appeared with her parents. She couldn't wait to tell us about her excellent report card. My cup runneth over. 🥰
#proudgran.
We are out early this morning, our favourite plant nursery is having a special event.
Parking will be a nightmare, it's out in the country, so we will leave our car at DD's, who lives close by and take only one car.
Its lovely just to walk up and down, even if we don't buy anything.
Hoping Gingster's DD continues to improve, good best wishes to all those in the sick bay and those burdened with sadness or worry. 💐
Good morning from Colchester where it's chucking it down. DH is supposed to be watching DGS1 play rugby and then on to a few hours fishing together. Glad I'm not going. ☔
I'll pop into the City if it dries up.
We've splashed out on roast beef for this evening.
Love to all 🦩 x
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. We have our daughter staying this weekend. Lunch will be at our favourite Sunday lunch restaurant. I imagine after that we’ll flop around and read the Sunday papers. I have to do a click and collect at Waitrose. I am returning a clothes horse and picking up another one. I am also collecting a dress and a storage box. Have a good day.
