Cooker clock!

My cooker clock is right for 6 months of the year. The other 6 months its a case of remembering its an hour fast.

Too many years of fighting with it we leave it as it is now

I wish we could stop all this palaver twice a year. As well as the cooker there are all the clocks and watches in the house, heating timer, car clock and worst of all body clock! Takes me several days to adjust each time and it's particularly depressing when we put the clocks back and it gets dark so early.

My hob doesn't have a clock, only a timer and my oven, which is Ikea's cheapest is perfectly easy to reset, as the clock is set or reset in exactly the same way as you set the oven temperature and time.

So buy a cheaper model next time, ladies.

I no longer bother with the time on my cooker - we often have mini power cuts so I can't be bothered with the cooker time.

I live in rented bungalow. Never mastered the flashing cooker clock (neither has landlord) I've stuck black tape over it.

Walled down the High Street this morning and the Town Hall clock that strikes quarters had been stopped at 25 to 7. Even the Council have trouble changing the clock!

I always turn my electric cooker off at the socket after I’ve used it. A former boyfriend of one of my DD’s, a fireman, told me electric cookers were a frequent cause of house fires. I realised I only kept it on permanently because of the clock but as I have a kitchen clock it was unnecessary, so I took his advice.

I turn my cooker off at the wall every time I use it, so I don't need to reset the clock. If I leave it on my cat sits on it and uses the beeps to summon me to the kitchen to turn the tap on so he can have a drink. He always has a bowl of fresh water if he wants it though.

I’m another whose oven is off at the mains unless it’s in use. I’ve gotten used to not looking at it’s clock

Ours is a Miele and I know I can alter it successfully because have done it before but always put it off for weeks. DH hopeless. Luckily DD3 is coming at Easter and she's a whizz at it.

Wouldn't it be easier if we all just stopped messing around with 'daylight saving' ?

Cooker clocks and timers are the work of the devil.
I spent a good 15 minutes on the one n our holiday let.
I don’t have one on my range at home thankfully.
I have always wondered who uses their oven on timed?
I never have.

Same problem. Just leave it now. My husband who is very good at this sort of thing gave up.

Our oven requires you to push and hold 2 buttons down at once while turning a knob. This is impossible to do one handed!

Every time the clocks change, I have to get the book out for our cooker, even though we have had it for some years now. Our new(ish) car doesn't automatically change, although the old one did. So this morning I was stupidly waiting for it to change

I have a Bosch oven and changing the clock is a piece of cake. Takes literally seconds. Exactly as tanith describes.

Ours is off at the mains unless in use as part of not keeping electricals on standby using electricity.

My time on Neff oven, and I believe Neff are now made by Bosch, is very simple to set. I wish I could say the same for the automatic timer, where it’s supposed to switch itself on and then switch off when the cooking time is finished. Can’t get my head round that one.
My bedside electric alarm clock has been an hour fast since it refused to let me set the hours after a power cut recently, so that’s one I didn’t have to worry about today!

Done it! I have followed the instructions every time but always had a problem , for whatever reason it would switch the timer on! I have just approached the job in fear and trepidation and to my amazement it worked !!

We have the typical German outside blinds. DH has electrified them all so they go up and down at set times. He will now spend the morning changing the clocks and then the timers on them all.
I keep telling him not to bother as if he leaves them, they will open and shut along with the sunrise and sunset just as they alwayso but no, he doesn't get it!

On my Bosch oven I press the clock button once then the plus button till it’s at correct time then the clock button again,
done!

To change the time all I do (according to the instructions book) is press the clock button twice and change the time using the +or - button. Works every time.

Tried that - it started the timer!
My instructions say to press and hold the clock button - but that just put the lock on

You’re right Aldom but that doesn’t account for a DH jabbing all the buttons because he gets frustrated by it. As you say, it’s easy for us to do. Mine likes to ‘lend a hand’…….
