A very late good morning to all from a grey and miserable Angus coast - a description which seems to apply to the whole of Britain, judging by your posts. I am late to the feast after yet another night of very little sleep. It seems to be part of a very irregular sleep cycle, so no doubt I'll be 'sleeping for my country' again soon 🤞
Yesterday's tai chi class was tiny - only two due to holidays. They certainly had no hiding place!
I have come to the conclusion that I am now officially tired of winter and winter clothes. It took me ages this morning to decide on something to wear - and I'm not even going anywhere!
Right, the sun has just found a little break in the cloud so I shall scoop up its energy and get moving.
I hope your new little grandchild doesn't get too dramatic in its entrance to the world, Marydoll! An exciting time.
And I hope all the poorly little DGCs feel better today and give their grandparents an easier time.
Have a good day all x

Good Morning all from a dry (so far) Harrogate. Got to rush, I've a lot to do! Have a friend coming over for afternoon tea, so yesterday was baking (until DGD turned up) I've just been tidying but have a bit of baking to do and all the sandwiches. I was going to use my 3 tiered cake stand, but can't find the fittings for it!! I was going to use my PortMerion crockery, but two cups are missing, so decided to use my mothers wedding present tea set, from 1937! Wish me luck that I find everything else I need!
Sorry to hear about Paul O'Grady, I loved him as Lily Savage.
Have the best day possible folks!

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow but thankfully not raining…yet!

A Waitrose visit and pilates today.

Another busy day for you Grandmabatty. Hoping your GS picks up a bit today and poor baby will be out of sorts too with teething pain. Definitely an early bed for you tonight.
Hoping all goes well for your DiL Marydoll

Hopefully a good day is ahead for all.

luluaugust Wed 29-Mar-23 10:06:04

Good morning all from a grey W Kent. DH's 80th birthday today and we are hoping to get out for a light lunch at our nearest NT property followed by a meal with the available AC and GC tonight.
Very best wishes to your DIL Marydoll I hope you get some news soon. Go carefully with the drain cleaning.
We have a friend like that Oops!! I think its asking a lot at our age to remember relevant details

Good morning everyone. No rain in Lancashire at the moment, feeling quite cold though. Mr. B is just back from doing the supermarket shop so will go and put that away, then I will read your news.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 29-Mar-23 09:53:37

Good morning from a wet and cold Oxfordshire, waiting in for a shopping delivery then off to the Charity Shop with some books, a prescription pick up and that’s me finished for the day.
Had a good trip yesterday with lunch out and a visit to the Car museum, MrOops mate brought a ‘friend’ I nearly confused her with another of his ‘friends’ thankfully I asked her where she lived before I put my foot in it, I wish he would warn us if he is bringing someone new. She seemed nice though, but then they all do, but we rarely see them twice.
But it was a pretty little place and empty due to the cold and wet.
Have a good day everyone, I doubt we will see any sun today.

Good Morning from an overcast S Yorks.

A very bad night so will take it say but must go to the gym for a lot time before trip north to see family coming up.

Yesterdays medical Zoom went better than expected so glad about that.

Bests for the early delivery Marydoll and what an interesting project EkwaNimitee.

I did a big big book cull a while ago, but a few more may go when I’ve stopped wrestling with my Big Choice abut moving to a flat more locally or moving to be closer to family. Not imminent - I have to be very, very, sure for a completely fresh start in a new city.
Take care poorlies and go Grey go round that lovely lake spot.

Good morning from agree, Durham. It rained all day yesterday, but the fencing men worked tirelessly to add 10 new posts to my ailing fence - that had been chosen as the best option, so as not to damage the panels which are intact. I’d been out in the morning, but once home, it was frequent cups of tea and chocolate biscuits to keep them going.
Today, my friend wants me to pop in and read a draft copy of her will that her solicitor emailed over. I’m sure it’s fairly straightforward with bequests to her grand children, then everything equally between her sons.
I’m calling in to see DGS1 after school, then I’ll collect DD2’s little dog for his regular stay, while they have their cleaning fairies.
Will read earlier posts later, but meanwhile best wishes to all. X

Jaxjacky Wed 29-Mar-23 09:30:27

Morning from a damp, grey S Hants, slept late. My son put bark all over the garden beds yesterday in the rain, it looks miles better.
I’ll be cleaning up plant labels later to re use them for seed sowing.
Pleased you slept well gMattie
Hope all the poorly little ones recover soon.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Enjoyed being in charge at music club yesterday even with the sleepless night. We had couple of birthdays so homemade cake and one of my songs, an unaccompanied folk song had its first outing and I remembered all the words😁

This morning to the doc for an MOT, blood pressure etc, then to lunchtime concert in town. Would like a spurt of energy…

Thoughts to all with worries of any kind.

EkwaNimitee Wed 29-Mar-23 09:05:57

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where it is gloomy, grey and damp.
Yesterday was a morning of housework and jobs on the computer and an afternoon of, mostly, starting a re-read of one of my books. Once finished, it will be off to the charity shop probably. It's an ongoing project, some tomes have been sitting on my bookshelves for decades in case I wanted to read them again someday. Some of them have proved less enchanting on a second read.
Today will be much the same, I think it's forecast to be even wetter. I definitely prefer a blue sky even if it comes with a bit of a nip in the air.

Have the best possible day all of you.

Stilllearning Wed 29-Mar-23 09:05:29

A quick good morning from S Lanarkshire, grey but still.

That sounds like a tiring day coming up Grandmabatty, hope it passes relatively easily, you’ll sleep tonight.

Marydoll, I’m off to mass too but definitely minus plunging rods! I am impressed!!

Wishing everyone a good day🦩

Grandmabatty Wed 29-Mar-23 09:05:06

Marydoll best wishes for your daughter in law.

harrigran Wed 29-Mar-23 09:04:06

Good morning from a drizzly NE where it is 8 degrees.
DS will be here soon, he is taking his car in for a service and has chosen the dealership near to me so we can go shopping in the courtesy car.
Had a lazy day yesterday, watched a six part TV series back to back.
SIL is travelling to the UK today, he booked his tickets ages ago to miss the rail strikes which are now cancelled of course. DD will follow next week.
Have a good day.

grandMattie Wed 29-Mar-23 08:53:46

All my prayers for you DiL, Marydoll. Trust all will be well. ❤️

Vintagenonna Wed 29-Mar-23 08:49:18

Good morning from Hampshire

As Grammaretto says, we have a 'dreich' day here as well.

I am tucked up with my first experience of covid (mercifully mild) with my grandson's little dog for company.

DH has produced a test with a faint line so my four days of isolation at the back of the house and receiving things on trays is coming to an end.

I have enjoyed the break; have re-read Treasure Island, listened to the second volume of Galsworthy's Forsythe Saga on audible and re-watched big chunks of 'Breaking Bad'.

Take care, Grans.

GrannySomerset Wed 29-Mar-23 08:47:29

Grey morning after a restless night so not feeling very energetic but need to spend time on the computer doing various essential jobs. Awaiting delivery of new printer, so will need to install that and then have various things to print off. Singing this afternoon. Hope everyone has a good day.

Grammaretto Wed 29-Mar-23 08:40:31

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Another dreich day here.

I was hoping to take DMiL out for a drive to the seaside but it involves going into central Edinburgh and back afterwards so not quick. I could just go on the bus and visit her and save the outing for a warmer day.

All the best for your DDiL Marydoll. We await news.smile

Yarn group today. Onto the last leg with the cardigan. or should that be arm

Have the best day everyone.

monk08 Wed 29-Mar-23 08:37:45

Good morning all from a dull Black country rain overnight.
DH still coughing away during the night but I did manage a bit better sleep.
Its nursery pick up today and then we have a meal booked but will see how DH is as his appetite not good and we cancelled Mondays booking.
Hope all goes well for DiL Marydoll
Speedy recovery for all those grandchildren under the weather.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ☀️.

BlueBalou Wed 29-Mar-23 08:32:41

Good morning from a damp, misty, breezy spot on the Dorset coast, the haar has rolled in and it’s very atmospheric 😄
Off for a bracing DDog walk shortly before high tide late morning then will probably stay indoors and do some sketching or knitting. No rush to do anything!
We went into Lyme Regis yesterday, gosh, such tiny lanes to navigate in the town 🫣!
It rained, very little was open but we wandered around and were bemused by schoolchildren being taken along the Cobb as waves were breaking over the top! They must have been soaked.
Hopefully it’ll dry up somewhere sometime!
