My great love is sesquepedalian.

October. It's the sound rather than the meaning. If I were choosing a word for meaning it might be Peace or Love or Kindness

PennyQ Mon 03-Apr-23 12:13:03

Granny!

Banquette - just love saying that word - goes back to a Victoria Wood sketch many moons ago!

RakshaMK Mon 03-Apr-23 12:03:42

Discombobulate

Never heard the word ‘cockwomble’ - had to look up the meaning….it’s now my favourite word and I intend to use it as much as I can!!!

Serendipity - so happy to see that others have favorite words as well. I thought I was the only one.

Margarita, I forget which classy chef, travelling in Italy, went to Naples and was shown the best ingredients for the best pizza, and they come from Naples. It was a Margarita. It was one of those travel programmes.

Exsanguination. 😁 As for names, I knew a girl once, decades ago, who was named Dawn Flower. Lovely.

Zetacatty Mon 03-Apr-23 11:51:53

Reading it back - I think it should be spelled ‘plumptious’

Zetacatty Mon 03-Apr-23 11:50:17

Plumtious. It’s soft and cuddly.

gillyjp Mon 03-Apr-23 11:48:53

Another vote for Discombobulated (we use it about the cat a lot)
My polite version of someone being totally ridiculous/insulting/offensive, etc is Duckwit. I like that.
'Kefalonia' is a favourite word too - both a beautiful word and place smile

pipsaucer Mon 03-Apr-23 11:47:18

STRUMPET Has always been my favourite word, don't know why but it makes me laugh!

Caleo Mon 03-Apr-23 11:45:33

Margarita, tell him to pizz off.

Caleo Mon 03-Apr-23 11:44:41

Margarita, I would call him a stupid pizza.

GrammaH Mon 03-Apr-23 11:42:33

Parsimonious is a good one..

Amandajs66 Mon 03-Apr-23 11:41:16

Alypoole Mon 03-Apr-23 11:37:51

Serendipity too!!

MARGARITA567 Mon 03-Apr-23 11:35:38

My son in law is snobbish & I'm sure he thinks I'm common..I was brought up to be warm & welcoming & not look down on others whereas he comments on people holding their knives incorrectly (me). not liking steaks pink (me), liking pizza margaritas(again me) in his words not worthy of the name pizza..

Dee1012 Mon 03-Apr-23 11:35:28

I have to admit that Gobshite is a particular favourite..

Caleo Mon 03-Apr-23 11:34:04

Now you mention it, Boolya, I feel a giggle rising in my belly right now.

Candelle Mon 03-Apr-23 11:33:00

Haven't had time to read every page but can see that Sago was first off the blocks with mine, 'discombobulated'.

It sums up how one can feel about something exactly.
