Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. We have a sunny start.
I managed a long lie and foresee a rather take it easy day. Some pottering in garden and greenhouse.
I have almost finished my knitting just in time for the warmer weather. confused

I went to Evensong last night. The Cherry blossom was just coming out in the churchyard.

Plenty going on for gransnetters. A Swedish death clean sounds brutal. I shall Google it!
Have the best day everyone..

Super Easter Day service, roast lamb cooked by DD, and much laughter made yesterday a joy, and the evening spent with DGD1 whilst her parents visited friends was a bonus. Loved it all. Grey and damp this morning so we will see how the day pans out. Hope today is good for everyone.

What a fabulous cake kitty, well done to your DD. I hope the wetter weather doesn’t spoil the wedding celebrations too much and congratulations to the happy couple! 🥂 Enjoy the day with your DGC

Good morning from a soggy Sefton. That has spoilt my gardening plans for the day. Perhaps it will brighten up later.🤞 Otherwise an enforced day of leisure. 😆
Over to see DS2 & family for lunch yesterday. DGD insisted on wearing her Frozen outfit & entertained us with her singing & dancing. She's 3. DS1 has taken his family down (or is it up?) to London for the weekend, the highlight being a theatre visit to see .... yes "Frozen". Frozen related activities still hugely popular with little girls.
Marydoll I used the phrase "Swedish Death Clean" quite casually in conversation with my 2 sons who were horrified. Apparently "decluttering" is preferable.... doesn't have the same connotations ! I think they are having difficulty accepting that mum & dad are getting old.
The earlier drizzle has now turned into a downpour. I think I'll stay where I am & have a duvet day.
Take care all & have the best day possible.

Good morning all from contraryland! While the rest of the country was blessed with blue skies and sunshine we on the Angus coast were shrouded in cold mist and no sun. Now that you are all reporting the dismals we've got blue sky and cloud and sunshine. Showers forecast for the next hour or so but by the time the washing is ready to go out that should be past.
I've loved reading all about your Easter family doings. Your Suffolk retreat sounds lovely gingster - a real battery-charging place. And what a talented DD3 you have kitty - that cake is beautiful.
That menu sounds scrumplicious Whitewave and will be enjoyed by all I'm sure.
Grandmattie the finishing line of your marathon is in sight. An enforced rest for a couple of weeks before moving into your flat will probably do you the world of good.
Sorry about the vertigo again Marydoll. I hope this bout soon passes.
Safe journeys to all travelling today. The good thing about driving on Sundays and Bank Holidays is the reduction in the number of lorries - I think I saw only three yesterday. I don't know why that should make such a difference, but it does.
Anyway, off I go for a leisurely day of pottering. flowers for the sad and poorly and lots of family fun x

I meant to say Ash that that Easter egg music at church sounded great!

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Lovely day yesterday DD2 cooked us all a Sunday lunch and Easter eggs were exchanged. Due to a bit of heat I was able to go and watch DGS3 play in a tennis tournament which he won. Very quiet day today starting the washing and getting ready to go on a break at the end of the week.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning from rainy West Sussex. Yesterday was lovely with church followed by lunch at DD1s. DD2 and littlest DGDs came too. DD2 and family are back in Scotland. DGS1 had a horrible sore throat and cold so stayed in his room ( staying is his room is normal but he usually appears for food!). DD1 and I took youngest DGD to the park but we had a sea mist all day so it felt cold. The sun almost broke through about 4pm.

Today will be a tidying up day. Swedish Death Clean is on the agenda but I never get far as most of my clutter is readable (letters, cuttings, memorabilia, as well as books). I will be found on the floor, legs tucked under (that’s harder these days), surrounded by little piles of paper and leaflets. I think I need a strong-minded companion. Any volunteers? 😀

Enjoy your day all who can. Comfort and peace to all.

Good morning from soggy Derbyshire. Not sure what we are doing today. The red of the family are leaving later this morning so will help them get sorted and then decide.
It’s been a lovely weekend with sunshine, laughter, games and outings.

Hope everyone finds some joy today.

Good morning,
It’s cloudy but dry so far here, although it has rained through the night.
Not sure what my plans are today, so will wait and see.
Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all from a soggy Glasgow. Heavy rain overnight, blustery wind and sun at the moment.

Yesterdays egg hunt and egg and spoon race were fun but unfortunately too chilly for lunch outdoors.
A quiet day ahead.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

A late good morning from me here in a very wet Northampton. No plans for today to go out. Will read the papers, do the puzzles and read more of 'Hard Times'. May find something on TV to watch.

Had a lovely few hours out with DD yesterday visiting Coton Manor Gardens. It was sunny, but a chilly wind. DH and I used to be regular visitors, and I hadn't been for years. Lots of lovely spring flowers still out, and beautiful flowering trees. Also quite a few creatures to see including pigs, ducks, hens and flamingos! We later enjoyed coffee with home-made scones and jam with clotted cream in their sheltered stable courtyard. Lovely to spend a few hours with DD.

Spent the rest of the afternoon sitting out in the garden at home and later retired to the summer-house when it got chilly. Read the papers and did a bit of weeding.

Easter Monday wishes to all.

Good morning from a dull Co Armagh where it seems to have rained in the night , but it’s dry at the moment
Long lie in this morning, busy weekend has tired me

Wyllow3 Mon 10-Apr-23 10:23:06

morning from S Yorks. Its rained in the night but just spitting a bit now.
Yesterday at last I got my path finished with moss killer - it has to be done when it isn't raining. Took £40 of moss miller its such a long path!

I was going to go to the gym today but might have a quiet day in, I'm very tired CFS wise.

Have lovely days with family and the very bests for poorlies and family poorlies.

BlueSapphire Mon 10-Apr-23 10:23:28

Just remembered that DH and I were married on an Easter Monday 51 years ago! Happy days....

Wyllow3 Mon 10-Apr-23 10:24:03

Oh, and I forgot I've got an MRI this evening on the Alien lump on my arm. so busy trying to forget it mustn't miss the appointment!

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. Step forward yesterday out of virus with nearly two hours in the sand dunes at the bottom of the road and then cutting through to the beach. First time there after a long spell and surprised to see great swathes cleared looking rather bare. Someone said maybe it was to get rid of the Japanese rose which takes over? Anyway it was lovely to see all the spring growth and I brought back some beautiful shells. I’m more of a deep countryside person than seaside really, but here I am and can’t complain.

Inroads into chocolate eggs last night and more today…
Will read through later and hope you all have a good Easter Monday and thoughts to anyone with worries.

luluaugust Mon 10-Apr-23 10:40:26

Good luck for the MRI scan Wyllow

Late good morning from a dry and sunny NE 🌞.
DD and SIl were here all afternoon and evening and I caught up with her news. She brought me a bag of Belgian mini Easter eggs, each one a different filling 😋
We had duck for dinner with five vegetables and to drink a very good Sancerre. We passed on dessert and just had coffee with a little chocolate egg.
I should do some housework today and look for papers as my financial advisor is visiting tomorrow, he drives up from Harrogate.
Fabulous cake kitty, one very talented DD.
Have a good dY everyone.

Greyduster Mon 10-Apr-23 11:18:57

Good luck Wyllow; I’ll be thinking about you.

Grandmabatty Mon 10-Apr-23 11:57:12

Good luck with the scan Wyllow

Marydoll thank you! Got home at 20:00 last night. Stopped at Gretna to get some Scottish stuff only to discover that no shop sells any! Very disappointed! Did go to Asda at Linwood for square sausage, iced ginger cake, dumpling, macaroon bars, tablet, snowballs. That’s me sorted! DH may get some - if he’s good! I’m very tired and sore but I’m so glad I made the effort. Mum had dinner with some of the family yesterday so was able to update them on the difficulties that I’m having. I was accused, by them last summer, of not pulling my weight when mum dislocated her shoulder in a fall and needed live in care. Usually I would have been on speed dial for looking after her.
Surprised how emotional I was over the weekend and again this morning when Mum thanked me for my efforts and told me she loved me. Heid still burlin’! So feet up and catch up with papers today. Hope your vertigo improves soon.
DH back to work tonight so a quiet evening for me!
