What to do with a 1970s wedding dress

So it’s time to let my 47 year old wedding dress leave its case in the loft. It’s my wedding dress and I thought it looked good on the day I wore it. But it’s synthetic material so I can’t imagine anyone will want to wear it or remodel it even if it did come from a department store in Oxford Street. I actually think if I give it to a charity shop it will go in their rag bin. This hurts. Any suggestions.?

I also gave mine to a local theatre wardrobe. They seemed pleased to accept it.

How precious is your marriage, mine will stay in wraps for someone else to decide what to do with it.

I gave my 1966 velvet dress with train to a charity shop. Was told it woukd go to a city branch as more demand for vintage there. I thought the velvet would be good for making little dresses.

Mine just hung in the wardrobe where it got all creased and the train got grubby so tried to wash it - disaster, so bin!!

My dress was a long white cotton Laura Ashley one in 1992. It is still in the dress bag in my wardrobe. Would find it too upsetting to take it out of the bag as I am now a widow. The idea of it being used for little towns for stillborn babies is a lovely one so maybe some day...
