I hope you all know that you can opt out of hearing this on your mobile phones.
Go to Settings then Notifications, find Emergency warning and turn it off.

Stereo here, both our phones at the same time.

We're ok - DH got it twice - once in English and once in Welsh 😀

mine was really loud like a wahhh wahhhh wahhh sound
how weird it has activated some but not all phones. You need 4g but not sure about what else

It’s probably because some networks didn’t relay the message correctly, or at all? I expect we will find out where the issues were at some point.

VioletSky Sun 23-Apr-23 15:11:24

It's between 3 and 3:30

Everyone except me in my house so obviously not location based

AGAA4 Sun 23-Apr-23 15:11:26

Mine came at seven minutes past.

Grayling1 Sun 23-Apr-23 15:12:19

Thanks for that JaneJudge. I don't have a smart phone just a bog standard mobile and it was completely silent.

Granny23 Sun 23-Apr-23 15:14:57

Nothing here so far

That's why they're testing it, I guess - so if there are any issues, they can iron them out.

Neither of us got it in the NE of England.

VioletSky Sun 23-Apr-23 15:20:05

Just had it

Auntieflo Sun 23-Apr-23 15:20:44

Well, that woke me up.

Juliet27 Sun 23-Apr-23 15:20:50

I got it bang on time in the SE. Depends on phone type and age and upgrades I believe

SueDonim Sun 23-Apr-23 15:21:06

Our two phones went off at the same time, almost dead on 3pm. It didn’t make me jump, surprisingly.

DD didn’t get the alert until she ended the FaceTime call she was on. It’s clearly a very British alert - it waits patiently until you’ve finished what you’re doing. grin

Ditto here!
I am on the border.

Received mine at 14.59, MrJ didn't receive one at all!

Ziplok Sun 23-Apr-23 15:22:53

I got it, my DH didn’t, and we were in the same room. Perhaps because we’re on different networks? Both of us on 4G and above, so that’s not the reason.

I am waiting in a patient British queue 😁

NanaDana Sun 23-Apr-23 15:23:07

Both ours went off here on Tyneside at bang on 3 p.m. Clearly over-rode my low volume setting, and really blared out, which makes sense.

Charleygirl5 Sun 23-Apr-23 15:26:43

Mine went off at 2.56 pm and it made me jump.

Blossoming Sun 23-Apr-23 15:27:21

I was ready and waiting, as I have an extreme startle reflex so didn’t want to be holding a copy of coffee or something when it went off! It was fine, though I expected it to be louder and shriller, like our smoke alarm!

How odd - I’m in mid Wales, but I only got the English version!

My phone was in an adjacent room, I was ironing whilst listening to a podcast, didn't hear a thing. My husband was downstairs also with phone in another room, he didn't hear anything either, but he is waiting for his ears to be syringedgrin Both our children WhatsApped yesterday warning us about it, we've known for ages sometimes I think they think we live under a stone!

MiniMoon Sun 23-Apr-23 15:30:31

Wasn't looking at the time, but it must have been at 3 pm. I'd just gone upstairs and had taken my phone with me. It was loud.

Ailidh Sun 23-Apr-23 15:30:56

Nothing in my flat at 15:00.

Wandered down to the communal area to see if that helped.
It came in about 15:07.

Back to the flat.
Alarm sounds at 15:15.

New phone, all upgrades upgraded. However, I don't understand how the alarm is transmitted. Is it, essentially, by phone? I have excellent WiFi but zero mobile signal in the flat, have just changed my provider so that I can use WiFi calling, what a boon.

I've asked my neighbours to come and beat on my door, in the future, if they get the Four-Minute Warning.....

Nothing in our Orkney 'Blind Spot'.....unsurprisingly!
