Homemade chicken soup or Heinz tomato with white toast (HOT) with lashings of butter!

Heinz tomato soup, though you practically need a bank loan to buy a can now!

Chicken soup really does seem to be a comfort.

Ohh no, that remedy wouldn’t be for me….just the thought of softly boiled eggs let alone in a cup would make me feel worse but then I do like my boiled eggs like bullets. Grapes and lucozade always help me through illness. When I was feeling nauseous as a child I was always given a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda in water. Now Alkaseltzer does the trick, but only the original version.

Rice.

In any recipe/version. Indian Kheer dessert. Mexican with beans. Risotto. Artichoke salad. Fried. Breakfast with syrup.

Birds custard, made with half evaporated milk, half semi-skimmed. If it’s got thinly sliced bananas in it, even better.

Following a discussion about a GNers friend who was off her food I wonder what you favourite poorly food was?
A few days ago I was felled by the onset of the worst sore throat I have ever had. My GP diagnosed a strep throat infection. For days even if I had wanted to eat I couldn't as my throat was just too sore. Even drinking water, which I did out of necessity was excruciating. ( I wondered if the accompanying headaches were part of the illness or caffeine withdrawal). Today I am feeling slightly more human so I have just reverted to my favourite childhood " poorly food". Two softly boiled eggs beaten up in a cup with butter and salt. It does have to be in a cup. I tried it in a bowl once and it just wasn't the same. It did take its toll on my throat, but I did enjoy it.
What is your favourite , go to, poorly food?
