I feel so so sorry for him- he knows he has not got long to live, and that all his efforts to try and make the world listen to the dire warnings about climate all around us- have fallen on deaf ears- especially those that count. He has given it his all - and knows he has failed. So so sad.

An absolute icon, not only in broadcasting terms, but also in his determined commitment to promote defence of the natural world. His autobiography, "Life on Air", makes a fascinating read, and is also available on audio book. Happy Birthday, Sir David.
