greyduster I wonder what they eat, as there can’t be anything in this country that is indigenous from whence they come?

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Our cleaner is coming this morning. After she has gone I must sort out the new spare room. We are having a new bed delivered tomorrow so the old one needs to be stripped of the bed linen and the toys we keep for our granddaughter taken out of the cupboard thing underneath. If I’ve time I’d like to look at one or two Oxfordshire Art Weeks venues in the village. There is a very talented pottery. It is the Local History Society tonight. I haven’t been able to go to a single meeting this year but will make an effort. Have a good day.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Felt so tired yesterday after being on the desk at the music club and singing followed by grocery shopping . Fell asleep in a chair and went to bed around 10, unusual for me. Not a good night as my severe cramp reared it’s ugly head, or should I say thigh and foot…maybe my statins are the cause.
Off to music again today if I can find the energy, the usual lunchtime concert.

Hope your hospital appointment works out well Mick and hope you soon feel more settled GM

Good morning everyone. What a glorious day we had here yesterday, bright sunshine, and so warm! We really needed a day like that because today we're back to thick fog. Oh the joy.
Isn't it strange how much happens as a consequence of one little event. The event in question was Dancing GD's group's return flight from Estonia having been brought forward by four hours - and the airline omitted to let the group know! DD scrapped her plans to travel up from Nottingham, where she was staying with New Man, to collect her from Edinburgh airport and went instead to Luton. Somewhere near there another car took a side-swipe at DD's car, writing it off. Very fortunately no injuries, but a night in a hotel with DGD followed before New Man was able to collect them. Meanwhile, DGD3 couldn't get home from her after school hotel job because there was no-one to collect her and no public transport to her village, so they gave her a room there for the night (a rather nice one which would cost you or I an arm and a leg, so no great inconvenience to her 😉). After a day of getting nowhere with her insurance company regarding a hire car, DD is still down south, but the Dancer is getting a train north, where I shall meet her to reunite her with her own car, and then take hotel DGD, who is getting home by bus this morning, back to her work. I will have to stay at DD's overnight as I don't drive in the dark - meaning I need to get another instructor to take my tomorrow's tai chi class. So as I said, a lot of consequences resulted from someone not informing someone else of a change of flight time .........
I did take my friend out to lunch yesterday - the last time (such a sad thought) I shall be able to see her as on Monday she moves away to her sheltered housing south of Edinburgh.
So off I must toddle now and pack my case for tonight, and maybe a second night as well.
A spiritual friend reminded me yesterday that we are slap bang in the middle of a Mercury Retrograde which has an adverse effect on all things to do with transport and communication. Normally I might say that these things are 'all in the mind', but this lot of happenings to communication and transport in my family were certainly not in my mind. And remember, my car was off the road last week (replacement clutch) for longer than necessary due to problems getting spare parts .........
Sorry folks, this was a long one!
Love to all, and I hope you and your mum are both feeling a little better Grandmabatty - do please see that doctor.

Taichinan flowers

I hope you all manage to get some de-stressing today. What a nightmare that was

Sar53 Wed 10-May-23 08:18:56

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny, for now, Essex by the sea.
DH is off to London today to meet up with some old work colleagues, lunch and a few drinks.
As I have the car for a change I am going to a supermarket I don't normally go to.
I have two anxious DGD's, one doing her SATS the other her mock GCSE's. I hate to see them worried but unfortunately that is life.
I hope you all have a lovely, peaceful day xxx

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Back home yesterday via Holy Island from our short break in Northumberland. DD2 is going home today. Very mixed weather but a lovely day yesterday until we encountered flooded roads on Teesside and workmen sweeping the water from the carriageway.
I have a board meeting later. Then perhaps some gardening if there’s any room in the green bin.
Have a good day everyone

grandMattie Wed 10-May-23 08:26:42

Wow, taichinan, you and your family are going through difficult times at the moment. M🫂🫂❤️

Stilllearning Wed 10-May-23 08:27:57

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire. Looks gray and damp again but yesterday afternoon was lovely and I sat reading in the sun for the first time this year, what a treat!

Sorry your weather is disappointing Ash but at least you’re beginning to feel better so that’s good. Hope your good night’s sleep heralds an improvement for you too Grandmabatty

Today exercise class and chat which I’m looking forward to. Afterwards a friend and I are going to visit one of our lifelong group who has been housebound for several years due to her poor health. She has had so many problems but has a great daughter who supports her wonderfully, and adult grandchildren who keep her in their lives.

Good luck with your visit to hospital Mick, what a palaver of a journey, you are so uncomplaining.

Wishing everyone a good day

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 10-May-23 08:28:01

Good morning all from so far dry Harrogate
Another appointment with JR brings you a little nearer to that surgery you need Mick
Glad you are feeling better Ashcombe Be kind to yourself Grandmattie you have been through a lot in the past two years.
Glad you had a better night Grandmabatty.
My DH throws all snails on to the road in the Hope that the occasional passing car will finish them off, but I suspect they March back up the drive to do their worst
This morning we are off to Knaresborough market, while there we will have our covid jabs. DGd after school 🏫
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but showers forecast for this afternoon. Hoping I shall be able to get to the well-being cafe after lunch without getting soaked.

Luckily the showers held off till after our health walk yesterday, and we had lovely sunshine which resulted in most of us stripping off our coats. We did a different route from usual, which seemed to tire me very quickly, but I kept going. Was glad to get back to the sports centre and sit down, ready for a sociable coffee.

Hope a good day is ahead for all.

brook2704 Wed 10-May-23 08:57:14

Oh my goodness Taichinan, thank goodness no one was hurt - that’s the main thing, a lot of inconvenience though 💐

EkwaNimitee Wed 10-May-23 09:01:00

Good morning Mick and everyone from rainy Carlisle.
A contrast to yesterday when I was out in the garden in warm sun, actually stripped down to my t-shirt at one point!
That was after a busy housework morning.
No housework today, I will be off soon to the hairdresser. All of a sudden, I seem to have too much hair. Perhaps I shouldn't complain but it sheds everywhere which is why I have one of those pet hair vacs...I don't need the actual dog!

Must go....my bank threw up a problem for me yesterday and asked me to ring them. Have the best possible day everyone.

Gingster Wed 10-May-23 09:08:24

Good morning all and it’s bright at the moment.

Dh has gone fishing so I’m without the car.

I’ll walk the dog and then meander up to town - market day.

Tai what a week youve had! R and R for you today. 💐.
Marydoll enjoy your break away. It looks beautiful. .

Take care all

Anniebach Wed 10-May-23 09:35:52

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmabatty Wed 10-May-23 09:38:54

Taichinan my goodness. What a list of disasters! There's a rhyme which that reminded me of. 'For the want of a nail, the kingdom was lost' I think it is. I hope everything is ok today and your dd isn't injured after the crash.

harrigran Wed 10-May-23 09:45:15

Good morning from a sunny NE where it is 14 degrees.
Slept in this morning.
Yesterday DS came for tea before we went to GD's school concert. What a wonderful evening of young musical talent and the music teacher even had the audience participate.
SIL coming this morning and we will go shopping.
Have a good day all.

luluaugust Wed 10-May-23 09:45:51

Good morning from a mixed weather W Kent. Thinking of going out for a snack lunch with DH and delivering a Good Luck card to GD1 who starts GCSE's next week. GD2 will have to wait until Friday. Both girls in the usual state of tension and anxiety who would be 16!
gM I think everything that has happened to you is catching up so yes a bit of rest would be good. The warden, the name makes me think of Barchester.
Taichinan I really hope things calm down, so glad all are physically ok.
Marydoll I have been on plenty of trains where people discuss their medical problems or love life and it does pass the time you know.
Good luck with the travel and appointment Mick
Best wishes to all

Grammaretto Wed 10-May-23 09:46:45

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Looks like rain after such a perfect day yesterday. I complained it was too hot! My French Helpers were highly amused. They spent the morning digging out a veggie patch for my lodger. She loves gardening so a wild part of the garden is going to be an allotment for her own use.
gMattie I hope your meeting with the warden goes without hitch.

Mick your appointments keep changing!
My DGD has a burst ear drum and was a picture of misery until she was in the doctor's waiting room when she pranced about happily. Typical!

Enjoy your day at St Andrews Marydoll
I'm glad you are a bit better GMB
And Ash

Have a good day everyone 😊

GrannyGravy13 Wed 10-May-23 09:51:57

Sat down to look at my iPad whilst the cleaning fairies work their magic and it’s totally frozen, cannot even turn the flipping thing off 🤬🤬🤬

I will pop it into our marvellous Gadget Geeks on the way to the gym, hopefully they will mend it 🙏

Oh Marydoll I do wish I had that back garden.

hulahoop Wed 10-May-23 10:57:01

ShazzaKanazza Wed 10-May-23 11:10:13

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s a lovely morning at the moment but it’s going to rain from lunch time through to this evening I think.

I’m sitting in the hairdresser having my roots sorted so gone will be the grey stripe.
Picking up DGS from school later. He was such a delight yesterday after school so hoping for the same today. I enjoyed sitting out chatting with my DD yesterday lunchtime while watching little B toddle around enjoying the sunshine.

Grandmabatty I’m pleased you had a better night sleep. Please see your Dr soon 💐

Wow Taichinan what a chain of events but as long as your DD is ok. 💐

Have a lovely day everyone. Hope all Dr appointments go well and breaks away are happy ones. Thoughts to those poorly or stressed. 🌻🌻
