I have always liked Fawlty Towers but, on seeing a recent programme about it, I appreciate that Basil Fawlty's behaviour was generally quite racist, sexist, ageist, etc. However, the viewer is meant to see him as an ignorant and ridiculous person so this behaviour is not condoned but laughed at. I still think it's funny.
I do quite like Only Fools and Horses, though, again, I think there are some stereotypical ideas underlying some of the humour (eg naming the block of flats Nelson Mandela Towers (or whatever it is), could be interpreted as making fun of what people call "politically correct" ideas.
I liked Alma's Not Normal. Reading about some of the subject matter, which, in itself, is not very funny, I did not think I would like it, but it turned out to be very humane, and funny, I thought.
I liked Kate and Koji (with Brenda Blethyn). I know it was a bit corny and staged but I still thought it was funny. But it has been binned so obviously other people thought differently.
Some of the sitcoms mentioned here, I thought I liked but, having seen some of them more recently (eg Just Good Friends), I don't think they have weathered very well.
I think Motherland is great.
