Good morning from a dull day in Essex by the sea.
I have an appointment with the hygienist at 9, not my most favourite place to go but needs must.
No other plans today.
I hope everything goes well for you Mizuna.
Have a great day everyone xx

harrigran Fri 12-May-23 08:21:50

Good morning from a grey, damp NE.
Woken early by my tablet pinging, it is my birthday and AC were sending messages before they started work. DD is in Brussels so an hour ahead.
Sister and BIL are coming and taking me out to lunch, a favourite restaurant overlooking the sea, shame it wasn't yesterday as the weather was fabulous.
Yesterday a Sainsbury's van pulled up at the door and it was a delivery that I did not order, Champagne, chocolates, flowers and a wonderful cake. Turns out it was from my friend because she couldn't see me today.
Have a good day.

ginny Fri 12-May-23 08:15:14

Good morning.
I’ve not had time to read posts this morning so will catch up later.
Just preparing for 2 year old DGS s arrival for the day and an outing to his Auntie ( Dd1). Tomorrow we have him and his 7 year old brother.
Should be a busy, touring but happy couple of days.
Wishing you all a good day with a smile along the way.

Forsythia Fri 12-May-23 08:13:18

A grey day here on the south coast and I am wondering when it will warm up! A busy day yesterday and I nearly finished my woodland walk border, copied from a NT property for inspiration. I’ve laid 15 of 70 litre bags of bark so far which I hoped would be enough but still more to go. A trip to the garden centre today and I think 6 more should do the trick. I’m pleased with it and it’s turning out ok. I hope it suppresses the weeds. It’s starting to look pretty.
Otherwise, a quiet day and then getting ready for our holiday with ironing ready for next week. That’s it I think.
I hope you all have a good day and good wishes to those who are unwell.

grandMattie Fri 12-May-23 08:10:10

grammaretto, I have about 40ish, I think.
Yes, Dry much like the new girl…I feel exact as I did 50 years ago, when I first came to England - foreign, alone and very scared!

Gala Fri 12-May-23 08:09:30

Good morning from what was a bright sunny Sefton but is now getting increasingly dull. So glad I got all my washing line dried yesterday before the heavens opened on what had been a sunny day.
Zoom exercise class this morning then a free day. No plans as yet.
Sorry to hear you are in hospital Mizuna but good to hear you are being looked after so well. These winter coughs are exhausting Ash , take it easy both of you.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 12-May-23 08:01:40

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate. That’s nice for you to have a coffee invite this morning - enjoy Grandmattie. I hope your coughing is in unison Ashcombe. My DH has a permanent cough it’s such an annoying noise (uncomfortable too, for the coughed). Hope you’ve managed to enjoy your days away Marydoll The East Neuk of Fife is such a quaint and beautiful area, you’ll be sad to leave.
Happily we missed your weather Abitbarmy and just had normal rain.
Today I have to pop in to the surgery with a sample then off to Asda for a bit of shopping.
Have the best day possible folks

multicolourswapshop Fri 12-May-23 07:59:45

Hi Marydoll I love the east neuk of Fife it’s so beautiful and it was sweltering here yesterday too. This morning it looks like it’s going to be another scorcher.
I’m off to Kirkcaldy to the bingo with my carer this afternoon, fingers crossed I get a big win, no matter it’s the fun of going.

I popped a wee sum of money into my grandsons account this morning he’s to share with his brother they’re going to have fun today.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 12-May-23 07:42:38

Morning all from a grey but dry West Oxfordshire. Dentist this morning for a checkup. Brother and his partner are back after lunch for the weekend and fly back to Australia on Monday. My brother told me yesterday that he had been to visit our aunt (the one with Alzheimer’s) and had found it very difficult. Have a good day.

Greyduster Fri 12-May-23 07:39:49

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very grey South Yorkshire. At least it’s not raining - yet. We hardly had a dry spell at all yesterday so I kept myself busy indoors. I had a long telephone call with one of our oldest friends last night. I love him dearly, as did DH, and we always make each other laugh, but he’s in poor health and I worry about him. He can’t drive now and it’s too long a drive for me at the moment to go to him.
I’m going out to look at lawnmowers today. I need a smaller, lighter one so that I can get it up to the top lawn which means carrying it up steps. Other than that, and getting a casserole into the slow cooker, a quiet day.
Enjoy your day, folks.

brook2704 Fri 12-May-23 07:39:08

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with light grey cloud - hopefully we’ll see some sun later as yesterday we had the haar all day and it was really damp and grey
Lovely holiday photos nannyJan thanks for sharing
Today I’m off to the gym but nothing else planned, will see how the day goes
Sorry to hear you’re in hospital Mizuna hope things are ok and you get your treatment soon
Grandmabatty tough times, sending hugs
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Mizuna

Good morning from a hospital bed in Cornwall from which I can't see the weather! I'm here till I can get an angiogram and treatment which may be a two week wait but my consultant doesn't want me to go home till then. The food is amazing, the staff great fun and yesterday my own doctor rang to see how I was. So I'm pretty much delighted!

Get well soon. Relax and enjoy

hollysteers Fri 12-May-23 07:33:30

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Had my covid jab yesterday and have felt weird ever since, but ok, just tired.

Off to art soon but will come back and probably sleep…
The past few days have been trying Myotape mouth tape to see if it helps my snoring. I wake up exhausted rather than refreshed. We’ll see.

Sorry you are in hospital Mizuna💐, coughing is so tiring Ashcombe also thinking of Susan and Kalu.

Grandmabatty Fri 12-May-23 07:32:07

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and cloudy or it could be the East Coast Haar trundling in. Mizuna I'm sorry to hear that you are poorly. I hope you can get treated quickly. Ash I'm also sorry to hear that you and your DH are still so unwell. Grandmattie a sociable day for you. Welcome home NannyJan . The photos are lovely. Monk I had some really nice holidays in Alvor.
Yesterday was busy but in a nice way. I went to my art class in the morning and had a lovely absorbing time sketching out my new big piece. Then I played with colours for it. After that, I visited mum which wasn't as great as she was cantankerous and confused at times. What gave me the chills was the nurse making plans for her discharge home. I've made my feelings clear that it would be unsafe so I can do no more at this stage. After that, I visited a friend for coffee and cake and a rant.
Today I'll do some food shopping at Aldi as I'm short of much. Then visit mum and see what's going on. Still no doctors appointment so I have to push for that when my head is all over the place. Oh well, qué sera, sera. Have a good day all

GrannyGravy13 Fri 12-May-23 07:27:07

Morning all

Another day of sun and shower expected. I seem to have another busy one, no time for the gym.

Mizuna I wish you a speedy recovery x

Ashcombe I hope you and DH are better soon along with any other poorly folk

A wave to friends who are not currently posting 👋

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Marydoll Fri 12-May-23 07:24:30

Good morning all from Anstruther, where we have sea haar.
Yesterday was glorious and my face is stinging this morning, due to the sun and bracing sea air.
I had the most amazing lunch of seafood, just caught in Pittenweem, where we had been.
Unfortunately, I over did things, came back and slept for two hours, because I felt unwell and my heart rate which I kept to myself was rather high!
Later, I had the best night's sleep in the last year.

I am sad to hear you are in hospital, Mizuna. Glad to hear the food is amazing, always found it awful, but sorry to hear you have to wait so long for an echogram. In January, I had all my scans within less than a day of being admitted.
I hope your consultant can get to the bottom of things.

The previous day, my garden furniture had been delivered by only one man, so he had left it at the side of the house, because he couldn't get it through the gate. This didn't bother us.
Yesterday my phone alerted me to the fact that someone was in our back garden, I was quite anxious, when I could hear men's voices on the recording.
It turned out that the nursery had sent two men to move it and place it in situ. Now that's excellent service!

We are off home this morning, DD is hassling me to strip the bed etc, because we must be out for 10am. It takes me ages to come too and take all my meds, so I am biting my tongue!
We will have breakfast at the harbour in the mist, then head home.

Have a good day folks. We will stop off at Elie, to visit an amazing boutique ( I have been saving all year and have been a good girl, spending wise), pick up some prescriptions, then the pharmacy, before going home.

I hope you all have a good day.
My pal Kalu has been absent, I have been missing her posts.💐 Also thinking of Susan and GMBatty.

Have a good day folks.

Gingster Fri 12-May-23 07:22:12

Good morning all and it’s grey here in Essex. Lots of downpours and then sunshine yesterday.

Today we’ll meet our old pals at the usual pub for lunch. We haven’t seen them for a few weeks so it will be nice to catch up.

Mizuna sorry to hear you’re in hospital, but they are certainly looking after you. 💐

Ash poor you and olddudders - still coughing! 💐

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day.🌸

BlueBalou Fri 12-May-23 07:22:00

Good morning, it’s a damp and grey Wiltshire morning here. I really enjoyed yesterday’s sunshine, it was so nice to sit outside in the sunshine knitting and listening to a podcast.
Five packages of plants arrived yesterday, I have potted up the aquilegias, French beans, agapanthus and salvias and will do the rest this morning. Three loads of washing dried nicely too so a really satisfying day.
Today I will finish the potting up and then start on the front borders that need weeding and thinning out - there are Nigella everywhere and the daffodils and tulips need tidying.
Plenty to keep me busy!
Have a lovely day x

Pittcity Fri 12-May-23 07:16:11

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Yesterday it was sunny one minute and biblical torrents the next. I managed a couple of hours mooching the shops and got home before the worst of it. I need to go back today to return a too small pair of trousers (oh for consistent sizing) and buy a fabulous summer dress in the other colour while they've still got some. Luckily it's only a short walk to our High Street so I hope to dodge today's forecast showers.
Love to all 🦩 x

Grammaretto Fri 12-May-23 07:15:51

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. Foggy start. I hope it clears.
My French Helpers have worked so hard. My 40yr old greenhouse sparkles like new and the veg plot is ready for sowing and planting.
They will be tourists in Edinburgh today while I do my shift in the shop, visit DMiL and I have a dinner date with my badminton partners this evening.

This is sounding more promising gMattie you will settle in but it must feel a bit like being the new girl at school!!. How many neighbours do you have?

I hope you both stop coughing soon Ash
All the best to you Mizuna .

Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Fri 12-May-23 07:05:23

NannyJan we usually stay in Alvor but always take a trip to Lagos last time we went there by speedboat.

NannyJan53 Fri 12-May-23 06:55:39

Best wishes to you Mizuna hope all goes well flowers

Yes monk we were in Lagos, you have obviously been there! Then Faro for a couple of days. Happy birthday to MrMonk

Thank you Ashcome it was a lovely break

GrannySomerset Fri 12-May-23 06:52:03

Off in an hour to get a coach to Gloucester where there is a major flower festival in the Cathedral. The local flower group is lovely so I expect an enjoyable but tiring day and will take the chance to have little sit downs if I need to.

monk08 Fri 12-May-23 06:51:38

Mizuna have just read you are in hospital, I do hope they can get your treatment soon although it seems you are being well looked after💐

kittylester Fri 12-May-23 06:48:55

Good morning from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

We are up early this morning as I have to be in Leicester by 9.30 (looking presentable!) and DH has an ECG at the GP's surgery.

Have the best day possible everyone.
