I will watch it for the stupidity of it all. They wouldn't let Zelensky make a speech because it being too political but isn't the contest political anyway.
I was in two minds whether to bother as Far From the Madding Crowd is on BBC 2. I read the book as a teenager and saw the original film in 1967 with Julie Christie, Terence Stamp and Alan Bates. The one on tv tonight stars Carey Mulligan also an excellent version.

Definitely no from me,Not watched it for about 10 years. Better things to do.

Fleurpepper Sat 13-May-23 18:46:26

No, Hardwick Hall and Bess for me. A lot more interesting. Elisabethan history is fascinating.

cornergran Sat 13-May-23 19:08:33

Nope. Not for us. Mr C is hunting a film to watch.

Norah Sat 13-May-23 19:18:45

We all are.

Hoping for another catchy "Waterloo" to sing along with.

rafichagran Sat 13-May-23 19:28:21

50/50, I would watch it, but my partner is not interested, may watch something we both want to see.
I am surprised OP described it as stupidity, a relative of mine had a ticket to the semi final, she said it was amazing, Liverpool was buzzing, just pure enjoyment no trouble and Police were friendly. She drove 6 hours to get there and the same back, she said it was worth the drive, and it was spectacular.
To those who wish to watch I hope you enjoy it.

Seems everything else had disappeared off all sides of the tv tonight 😵‍💫
I understand Casualty being a casualty but what’s happened to BGT ?

Kim19 Sat 13-May-23 19:38:21

I'll watch the last entry which is ours and then I might hang on for the scoring. Depends how efficiently it is managed.

volver3 Sat 13-May-23 19:50:10

The scoring is a must watch, really it is.

If you haven't seen it for a few years, do tune in. Its changed dramatically. It's wonderful!!

BlueBelle Sat 13-May-23 20:19:27

Oh it’s sooooo not Volver

Mandymoo456 Sat 13-May-23 20:41:28

I am ⌚ Ng but finding the lights flashing annoying

Grannmarie Sat 13-May-23 20:51:11

We are watching in Benalmadena. Our holiday hotel TV doesn't have BBC1 so we are watching the Spanish channel with the sound off, audio via BBC Radio 2 on my Kindle Alexa! Our DS2 enjoys Eurovision so we''ll soon be whatsapping back and forth. Its a wee bit of light entertainment, but I still miss Terry Wogan.

Did you all spot the Princess of Wales? What a dress!

paddyann54 Sat 13-May-23 22:52:53

Some good songs and some lovely voices.the young man from Switzerland was excellent I thought...not a winner but a good performance

Kandinsky Sat 13-May-23 23:00:55

One of the worst Eurovision’s I’ve seen, & I’ve seen most.

I liked Cyprus and amazingly, Belgium!

Louella12 Sat 13-May-23 23:07:04

Scoring is great fun.

Liverpool have put on an excellent production

Well done!

SkyBird Sat 13-May-23 23:07:18

Absolutely loving it. Especially Penny Mordaunt representing Norway.
We have a family WhatsApp group. Individual score sheets and a sweepstake. It's hilarious family fun and we don't all live in the same country.

rafichagran Sat 13-May-23 23:13:04

I have watched it in the end, great fun, some good performances.
I look forward to the scoring as well. I liked the Swedish entry.

hollysteers Sat 13-May-23 23:14:08

First one I’ve watched and goes to show all the fancy effects in the world don’t make for quality.
Switzerland for me out of a bad bunch.

Moonwatcher1904 Sat 13-May-23 23:15:39

Well there's nothing that really stood out for me and as I write we have only 6 points.

crazyH Sat 13-May-23 23:16:09

That sounds greatSkyBird - wish my family were as enthusiastic as yours.

Louella12 Sat 13-May-23 23:24:34

I rather like Israel

But everything goes bonkers when we go to the phone votes

Gingster Sat 13-May-23 23:25:13

No I couldn’t sit through all that tosh. We used to watch it as a family and keep score but it’s got too big, too daft and too naff

Moonwatcher1904 Sat 13-May-23 23:37:42

My DH has just read on his phone that just before the Ukraine went on to do their song Russia bombed the town where they are from. This is so sad.

AmberSpyglass Sat 13-May-23 23:45:42

Hannah Waddingham is GLORIOUS. Worth watching for that alone, although I’m enjoying it all enormously.
