What everyday irritations make you really grumpy?

I hate other people's music . Neighbours can play music all day in their garden but why do they need it all the time . To make matters worse they play the local radio station now if it was Classic FM I might not be so bothered by it . They also have a yappy dog .

People just generally not thinking about anything outside of their own life. I have had two people let me down this weekend with trivial things but the one knows I am going through a tough time atm and I feel irrationally angry about it. I was also told off in a shop by a cashier for not realising a unsigned barrier was there because there was awonky door on the fridge (the barrrier was miles away) and I apologised and she carrried on tutting at me. I just find it unecessary. We all have stuff going on, some good, some bad, some really bad, it really doesn't cost anything to be courteous and kind to others

Dogs!!

My next door neighbours dog ,that she has never trained properly, yaps most of the time it's outside. A very loud shrill piercing bark! It also barks at me whenever I go out into my garden. She is a bit deaf and also it's her little friend so it is indulged!

I can no longer use either of my bedrooms as they face onto the back and onto the garden and I have had to move my bed into my lounge at the front to avoid being woken by the noise first thing ever morning. Actually it's a much nicer room to sleep in so I'm more or less ok with it.

After about a year of her getting the puppy I mentioned it to her. I said it in a very calm and friendly manner. Instead of understanding she got defensive and angry and became very rude.

I have thought about moving but there are dogs everywhere, especially now after lockdown, so it could even be 'out of the frying pan into the fire'. Apart from the dog it's a lovely neighbourhood.

I just have to get on with it and wear earphones with nice music or an audio book if the dog is outside when I am.

If you live in a city you can't avoid all sorts of noise!

I welcome JWs as I enjoy a religious discussion, and they know the Scriptures so very well. They are limited as to their beliefs but are better company than most sales people.

Someone ignoring my no sales/policital/religious/charity or callers without appointment notice. Are these people just stupid?

Being "ambushed" in the garden when Ive only just popped out to empty the rubbish! Tend to leave it til after dark now.

By "table service" I mean not only food brought to your table but also ordering from your table while comfortably seated.

Obviously would cost more than queueing at the counter as more staff would be needed.

Dogs barking constantly. Children screaming. Rude, ignorant narcissists. Know it alls.

Noisy joggers at 5am.

Inishowen, in view of your experience at the bistro I can't understand why efficient table service is not marketed by cafes.
There is clearly a gap in the market and many would pay a little extra or forgo a large menu in favour of such comfort and convenience.

Yesterday we were in town and decided to have lunch in a bistro. We opted to sit outside. Hubby queued for ages just to place our order at the counter. Two young waitresses were outside gawping at something happening across the road. They didn't clear the tables. After a long wait our lunch arrived and we were told our drinks would be on the way. I like my drink while I eat. Eventually they brought two wrong drinks and we had to send them back.The drinks arrived when lunch was finished. For this "treat" we paid £28. (Lunch was a sandwich with salad leaves). We wished we hadn't bothered. I could have bought a lot for £28 in M&S and had a lot left over.

It must be terribly difficult for your family with those decent cars always having to park off road.

My pet hates are litter and road works, especially when no workmen are there.

Have to admit I sometimes struggle with grammar, especially whether to use 'who' or 'whom'.

Using the internet, it's irritating when you open a web page, and have to accept/decline cookies, subscribe to their newsletter, and see lots of advertising before being able to choose what you are looking for.

Packaging is very difficult to open without scissors am finding these days!

I don't know anyone who is cruel to animals if you discount the meat industry, but animal cruelty makes headline news.

Things sold in twos when I only want one. Why can’t I have one at half the price?

Lack of compassion for all living things. I can’t bear the amount of cruelty inflicted on animals.

(Most) people who say sat instead of sitting. Newspaper headlines that are grossly exaggerated, way out of date or simply not true. Cruelty to children and animals, satire.

I agree SachaMac ! Constant eating as well, especially toddlers and even babies.

SquirrelSue I really dislike it when I go to a funeral and when the hearse with the coffin is outside the church waiting to leave, people start chatting gaily, running across to say hello to friends etc. around the hearse itself.
Why can’t they just stand quietly and show some respect as it takes it’s final journey? I’m boot faced if anyone speaks to me at that time.
I’m not a grump and enjoy a good wake as much as the next man, oops woman😁

Seeing people stopping and cleaning up dog poo putting in their little bag and swinging it happily as they go up the street having left a bloody great smear on the street. Yuk. We trained our dog to go in our garden which was cleaned up straight away and washed down. When we then went for a walk in a public place we left nothing behind.

Please post your instructions for training your dog to do that.
Our dog mostly goes in the garden, where we scoop it upon a shovel and flush it down the toilet and wash away any residue.
When she is out on the lead, she never wees or poos. The minute I let her off the lead, walking through the woods or along the estuary, she’s guaranteed to have at least one wee and poo, even if she’s deposited just before we go out. We always pick it up, not always easy when she’s squatted in the nettles, so what I’d really love to know, is how you would train her not to do it when we’re out.

Stupid TV adverts such as the one for ITVX which is on at every commercial break.

The sound of bouncing balls, or a football being continually kicked against a wall. Where we used to live there were shops a couple of doors along with a large expanse of pavement outside, and a particular group of local kids used it as a football pitch. The noise of the ball banging against the walls just grated on me for some reason. We moved...!

People who park cars half across our drive way. Now we have given our car to our grandson it will get worse. Okay we now have an empty driveway but we have regular family visitors who have decent cars and don’t want them left unnecessarily on the road. All the road has off road parking.

People who seem to be unable to go into town without buying and walking round with a takeaway coffee or scoffing a sausage roll or other fast food, then many of them just throw their litter down when they’ve finished, even though there are bins around.

People who don’t pick up after their dogs are the worst, as a dog owner I just don’t get how they can walk away and leave it, it’s probably the same people every time and you never hear of any of them being fined.

Most of the above. Also, I find having a shower really annoying. It’s not relaxing like a bath, but this retirement flat only has a shower, no bath - and anyway I would have difficulty getting out of a bath now.
