What is a good wine?

Have you any idea of the wine they prefer? No point in getting an expensive wine if it is not one that they would like.

Thank you for the ideas. I live quite remotely so a trip to a wine store would be an expedition! I will see what I can get from an online store - but at least I have some idea what to look for now!

My favourite wines which I don't buy very often are: white- Chablis. It's crisp and fruity; red- Chateau neuf de pape. It's fruity. But I echo the previous poster. Ask advice in a wine shop if you have such a thing near you

A Château de Berne Provence rosé.
Perfect for Summer, pretty bottle.
In Waitrose.

Well, it is a personal taste, of course, but I would suggest going to a local wine shop and asking their advice. There is so much to choose from.

I wanted to give someone a bottle of wine in return for being accompanist at a festival I have arranged. I am teetotal so do not know what is good and what isn't - I thought a bottle of red and one of white might be good.

Any suggestions?
