Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Overcast today.
I'm waiting in for someone coming to take away an old but still working, potter's wheel. I am slimming down my workshop and no longer need it.

I fear they don't realise how big and heavy it is.

There is a Gaelic café this afternoon where I can practice speaking my beginner's level. I have booked to attend the Gaelic college on Skye this summer.

Hope you all have a pleasant day

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. A quiet day for us, pottering in the garden and a walk somewhere shady.

Paper jewellery sounds fun BlueBalou, I’m intrigued. Hope your difficult friend is in a good mood LadyLFL, enjoy your lunch. Your garden sounds beautiful Karma.

Some beautiful pictures today, thank you all for sharing.

Have a good day all, safe journey to all travelling and hope any poorlies are soon on the mend. 🌻

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. The sun is beautiful and we are having a late( as usual) breakfast.
GrandMattie. well done in finding a handyman.
The volunteer gardeners came yesterday morning, and whizzed round. A little bit of weeding and cut down most of the dead phormium. I am so grateful to them, but they didn't spend as much time here as they did previously.
In the afternoon my friend came with three deep red geraniums, and potted them up for me. I supplied the tea and chat. She also brought some sunflower seedings, which I shall try and keep away from the slugs/ snails. Last year they ate every one, horrid things.
Hoping that Marydoll is feeling rested and not too frustrated.
Urmston you and your DH are in my prayers.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Haven't read all the posts as I have only just got up. Woke at 6am for the bathroom (and one of the cats woke me), turned over and slept for another three hours!

Had a pleasant shopping trip yesterday morning, and met an ex teaching colleague at the check-out, and managed a swift chat, then a second colleague arrived!

Was cold and trying to rain when I got home but within an hour the sun had come out, so I decided to cut the back grass. Also trimmed some of the edges, then sat out in the sun with my book and a drink.

Out to the theatre this afternoon to see a concert performance of 'Guys and Dolls'. Will remind me of when DS was 16, and played second lead in his school production (the Frank Sinatra part in the film).

Hope we all find some sunshine today.

Good morning from a brightening W Kent. Off into town this morning, so I will be visiting the gluten free cake shop. A lovely chat with the GC yesterday on afternoon duty, GD2 has been doing GCSE's all week and was very happy until the maths paper yesterday, fingers crossed for her and hoping it doesn't knock her confidence which is easily done.
Best wishes to all

Good Morning from a mild and overcast Co Armagh
I’m a very poor contributor on here , I read , sympathise and then forget to post !
Yesterday I went to painting class , new picture has been planned , but the teacher is doubtful , hmm I’ll have to prove myself here , we only have two more classes before the summer break and I’m too lazy to do my own thing if I’ve not a class to attend
Today the village pots , window boxes and planters are being refurbished. I usually join in but DD has her trowel at the ready so she can take over 😉 I’ll do an inspection this evening
I hope it doesn’t rain till after all the planting is done

We love Bourton gwen, how wonderful to have the river under the window. The last time we were there we watched a woman in waders in the river pruning a rose cascading over her boundary wall.

Morning all

I am posting late, haven’t read the thread yet. I have a manicure in 15 minutes just down the road. I am leaving DH with the job if cleaning the tops of the kitchen cupboards and cooker hood.

We are out to a black tie dinner this evening, yet to decide what to wear I think it will come down to which are the comfiest high heels and what goes with them 🤣🤣👠👠

(((Hugs))) to all in need

Have a good day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a bright N. Bucks.
Hope it lasts as we are off to keep an eye on smallest DGS whilst his Mummy and big brother take part in. ‘Colour Run’ I think he’ll be wanting to join them.
Safe travels and happy holidays to those on the move.
Hope everyone finds something to make you smile today.

Good morning from the Boggy Brae where it's cloudy and about 12º. The loch is very still.

I didn't know what to cook for tea yesterday so I got some tins out. Chopped an onion and started it in the wok. tipped in half a tin of chickpeas, half a tin of bamboo shoots, a full tin of Co-op peas and carrots, a tin of sardines in oil and an already opened tub of cream. Heated it through, thickened the sauce with cornflour and plonked four slices of Emmentale on top. It was good. If I'd done some rice or pasta or baked potato with it it would have fed 6-8 people. As it is there's some left for today. I think I yank another piece of Sulphur polypore (Chicken of the Woods) off a dead tree trunk in the garden and add that.

This morning I've pulled ticks 5 and 6 of this year out of my arm. Compared with the bumper tick year of 2021, when I had over a 100 tick bites in all, this is slow going.

Good day wishes to all 🌱

Well it has brightened to sun in S Yorks where a "no must do's day "lays ahead.

I got in lots of basic bedding plants from B n Q when it was quiet late afternoon yesterday all nice looking and good value.
and bought a small fridge freezer afterwards on the way home, the fridge bit on my fridge -freezer has been kaput for some time.

Have lovely holidays home and abroad and bests for poorlies today.

Good morning from a beautiful and sunny South Wales. I can see for miles from our cottage window, presumably towards the coast, the farm track was so twisty and turny ( and very long) that I’m not sure which direction I’m facing.
Off to the coast today which on the map doesn’t look very far, but then South Wales from our house didn’t look very far but it took us 5 hours to get here, the traffic was pretty bad around the towns. When we go home we will drop down and get back onto the M4.
But it’s time to do a reccy this week and see if we could live here, all fine so far!
Hope everyone has a good weekend, love and hugs for those with stress and worries.

Jaxjacky Sat 20-May-23 08:17:33

Morning from a sunny S Hants, have a lovely holiday WWM2.
Washing, watering the garden, sorting hanging baskets and later reading the newspaper, my day is planned out. Inevitably those plans may go awry!
Enjoy yours 🦩🦩

A beautiful morning here in Suffolk….good morning.

Yesterday was equally glorious and I had to water my pots of roses and the newly planted seedlings bought at the country market last Saturday.

I met a very good friend yesterday for coffee and we had a delightful walk along meadows by the river where a couple of people were canoeing. They said they had seen a kingfisher further up the river. My friend used to come to this part of the river when her children were young and they used to swim there. It was then very clean but not so sure now! Of course lunch had to follow in a cafe in the town with a walled garden.

Hope those with worries find some relief and today is a good one for all.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Late up this morning so will read through later after the usual Saturday full English.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Take care everyone and enjoy your Saturday and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning all from the Angus coast. I was so disappointed to wake up to grey skies after such a glorious day yesterday, but it's brighter out over the sea so I'm determinedly looking in that direction.
Karma your garden sounds idyllic.
Mizuna it sounds as if you're being well looked after, but get well soon. I'm glad your neighbour is watering your plants.
Your break sounds lovelyCornergran - thank you for the photos.
Nothing to report from here. Went to Dobbies yesterday for a leisurely stroll round. I haven't done that for ages and came out having spent far too much! Maybe it's just as well we don't have all that many glorious days if that's what I do with them 😁
Hope all the poorlies feel better soon and have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Sat 20-May-23 07:52:10

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Had problems with my email yesterday, not receiving them, inbox full and complicated by someone I thought was kosher offering to renew it. Sorted now, but a lot of messing around and changing passwords.

Off by train to flower fairies exhibition and lunch in model village with friend suffering from detached retina and cataract problems. He’s been very depressed with it all.
I dropped off to sleep in front of the tv last night and turned in for 10, very early for me.
Hope you have a good day and as always, thoughts to anyone with troubles.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. 19° and sun is the forecast. A quiet weekend here, so I'm taking advantage of the weather and washing everything in sight. I have a duvet setting on my washing machine so I'm working my way through the pillows. I also have a pile of ironing. Sad I know, but I love clean things!
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a misty NE.
CCTV maintenance man came at 9.30 yesterday and I told him that one of the cameras was stuck in night mode, he unplugged a cable and put it back in and it worked.
I had to ring the surgery because they rejected my repeat prescription, the receptionist said they knew I had plenty but I don't they will run out while I am on holiday.
My guts are playing up and I am feeling quite unwell so I am resting rather than working.
DS and GD2 are coming at lunchtime and we will spend the rest of the day together while DIL stays at home and prepares for their holiday.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning all from sunny Bourton yesterday we went to Cheltenham, but the day was a bit showery. When we got back to Bourton, there had obviously been quite a downpour. The river flowing outside our cottage was quite high. We are hoping to visit sudeley castle today.

glammagran Sat 20-May-23 07:44:05

Good morning all. Arrived in Fuerteventura on Wednesday evening just in time for food before the hotel buffet closed. Thursday morning was quite chilly which is when the photo was taken. Yesterday was a lot warmer. Internet is very patchy though.

Very sad to hear about Umstongran’s husband. They are in my thoughts. Marydoll please don’t overdo things as you are going through the mill atm. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Sat 20-May-23 07:40:40

Marydoll take care x. Susan I'm sorry, I forgot to say thank you for the virtual bouquet yesterday.😊

Grandmabatty Sat 20-May-23 07:38:52

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and grey. I'm hoping it burns off later. Karma I love the sound of your garden. It sounds beautiful. Cornergran what a lovely time you both have had! The. Photos are evidence of that. Grey duster I always think a summer cold feels worse somehow. Get well soon. Whitewave have a lovely holiday.
Yesterday was busy and mostly very nice. I arrived home from Aldi early on to a call from dd who was on her way to me with dgs2 and a maple pecan pastry (my favourite). We had a blether then i headed out to meet two friends for a late breakfast/early lunch. A bacon roll and two pots of tea and lots more chat. One of my friends had sepsis a couple of months ago and was extremely ill. It was nice to see her. Then I visited mum who was so much better than the day before. It's a rollercoaster right enough. I made a lovely lamb dish for dinner which I hadn't tried before and it was delicious. Then I went onto Next website and ordered clothes for my holiday with dd, sil and the boys in July. So a very nice day indeed.
Today I'm meeting another friend for a late breakfast at my local garden centre and to hand over her very late birthday gift. We've had to cancel meeting up three times due to illness etc. I'm looking forward to seeing her. There will be plant shopping too I'm certain. I'll visit mum after that. The other two lamb steaks for dinner tonight so I'll look for a different recipe for them. Have a good day all

Plant sale in the next village beckons but nothing else scheduled. Weather looks promising so time in the garden looks a good idea - a bit of weeding and then reading, a great way to pass the time.
