Good morning mick from the east coast of Fife where I hear the birds singing and it looks a promising warm day.

I’m off to a friends BBQ today hope I meet up with folks I know.
I got aPDF delivery too late last night I nearly missed it I was in bed sound asleep when the ring doorbell went.

Have a good day everyone

Good morning from a bright and sunny ☀️ Bristol. The sun rises early these days. The temperatures are forecast to E in the low twenties during the day, but barely single figures at night…
DD came yesterday to help me put a bed together. She didn’t. Ring any Allan keys, and I seem to have lost the screws for the slats! Not very successful!
What was much better was that I was idly looking out of the window and saw @ van for a chap who did building work. I immediately put some shoes on and ran across the road. He came round immediately and looked at the work I need done, both to remove a stud wall in the hall and replace my bathroom… looks hopeful!
Today, there is a church “beating the bounds” and coffee morning (might give that a miss).
Hope coughs and tummies, etc., are improving. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning from sunny Wiltshire 👏
I managed to get quite a lot of my seedlings planted out yesterday, in anticipation of the 96% chance of rain….only it didn’t materialise 🙄 so watered everything last evening.
The greenhouse now only has the tomatoes growing.
DH and I assembled two obelisks, let’s just say his emptying the contents of the box into a heap wasn’t helpful… the bags were labelled so we had no idea what was what 😵‍💫
They look really nice so very pleased.
Today I will get the house tidy after I walk DDog, I need to get out early or the warmer weather will flatten me again - I honestly didn’t expect to get so breathless so quickly when it’s warm out 😢
I have a paper jewellery making session this afternoon which should be fun!
Anyway, have a lovely weekend everyone x

Good morning from a sunny South Downs.

Off to Cornwall for a week in a cottage between Bodmin and Wadebridge. Weather set fair so lots of coastal walks planned.

The dog has picked up on the packing and getting excited - been awake since 5 this morning trying to persuade me to get up.

Hope everyone enjoys their day, and my thoughts to anyone watching their partners suffering, I send you as much strength as possible.

Not sure what our dinner will be 🙂.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It is so nice to be back in my own bed. There is no rumble of the District line or the whoop of planes taking off from Heathrow. Actually elder son said it didn’t take them long to get used to the noise after moving to Kew. OH is off to see his bees this morning. I will put the first of several loads of washing on and then meet my sometimes difficult friend for lunch. Have a good Saturday.

Good morning from what looks like a lovely sunny day from my Cornwall hospital bed. Day 11. The consultant says I 'may' get my angiogram next week 'but meanwhile we are keeping you safe.' Can't complain at that, especially as a friend watered my patio fruit trees yesterday so I don't have to think about how they're doing. (A wave to Marydoll.)

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very grey, dreary South Yorkshire. Not sure whether “brighter later” will be on the cards. I woke up with a streaming cold. They don’t just sneak up on me - they hit me like a cavalry charge before I have time to form a square! It was lovely yesterday but I didn’t go outside except to wash my car. The rest of the day was a cleaning day. Today I have some food shopping to do, a bit of gardening and a book to finish. Or I may just give in to the germs and have a duvet day!
Enjoy your day as best you can, folks.

Good morning from a sunny Sarthe.

Thank you for all my birthday greetings yesterday which were much appreciated. We enjoyed a drive around some country lanes where everything looked beautifully verdant. Around us, farmers are making the most of this dry spell to plough, harrow and sow. We see some huge agricultural equipment being brought into play. Gransnet gardeners seem to be similarly employed but on a smaller scale!

Thursday was Ascension Day so that meant a Bank Holiday and yesterday was taken as a day off, too, as a bridge day, apparently.

Safe journey to Cornwall, Whitewavemark2, and enjoy your break. I hope things are soon sorted out for you, Mizuna, but you seem to have adjusted well to your prolonged hospital stay.

Enjoy whatever today brings. 🦩🥰🦩🍾🦩

good morning, beautiful weather in s somerset today

I thought about going on a car ride today but I think I will take advantage and have a hedonistic day in my lovely back garden, which is like a grotto right now. I have height from 3 obelisks and trees and standard gooseberries, roses grow up the obelisks. The ground has stepping stones within wide low mounds of sedum and hardy geraniums with echinacea clumps here and there and roses too. It is very green with pops of roses and geraniums right now and the water feature tinkles. That plus the birds and bees, it uplifts me. The car ride can wait for a dull day

Have a good day

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Cambridge, looking forward to a high of 19 degrees later
Have a lovely holiday whitewave, enjoy your walking and safe travels
DD1 and Sil both arrived back home yesterday and we had a lovely family evening with pizzas and a film. Today the DGSs are off swimming first thing and then we’ll probably be going out somewhere later - but don’t know where yet!
Good that you’re being so well looked after Mizuna but hope all is fine and you’re home soon
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a sunny Black Country.

MrJ is off on a 100k cycle ride today! It's a yearly meeting with many cycle groups taking part. I think he forgets he is 72 smile

So as I have an empty I will thoroughly clean the house, change bedding, wash etc. I know how to live! May go out for a walk with my friend who lives nearby if she is free.

Wishing you well Mizuna they are certainly looking after you. Hope you have the procedure soon.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Morning Mick, morning All. Beautiful clear, sunny morning.

Off home today after a very relaxing and enjoyable two night stay near Hereford, one of our favourite cities, courtesy of Mr C’s birthday voucher. Visited Hereford in warm sunshine yesterday morning, we know it well from the days I worked there, revisited the beautiful cathedral before just wandering. Fortunately missed afternoon showers as we had headed for Ross on Wye and the Labels complex. Bought some some gifts for others and one for ourselves. Stopped at a garden centre where we knew there would be (far too) many jigsaws to choose from. Mr C has a new one to add to his collection, he’s promised to keep it for his post surgery recovery. Hmm, we’ll see.

It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable stay, it will be good to meet friends in the Wye Valley before we head home. We’ve loved this small, quirky hotel with wonderful views, the food has been excellent, the staff relaxed and helpful, we’ve both slept well in a very comfy bed. One on our list to return to.

Look after that cold greyd, hope it disappears as quickly as it arrived. Sounds hopeful grandmattie, it’s hard finding tradesfolk in a new area. We were fortunate in being pointed to an excellent plasterer (our bungalow had to be totally renovated) who of course could recommend other trades.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning all. Spring is morphing into summer here, and like you, Karmalady, I am enjoying the garden in all its glory. We have a Red Robin bush which is flowering profusely and smells so sweet 🌸
I’m planning to go to a plant sale at a local library this morning. Plus walking the dog and going for a coffee.

Enjoy your Chinese takeaway, Mick.

brook2704 Sat 20-May-23 07:19:14

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk seaside.

We are off back to Essex today after a full-on week here. Lots of gardening, meeting folk and entertaining. We will go ‘home’ for a rest 😉.

karmalady your garden sound idyllic!

Greyduster I hope your cold is short lived 🤞.

Enjoy your day, whatever it brings.🌸

Good morning from a gloriously sunny Sefton.
Just back from a few days residential singing course in the far reaches of Northumberland where internet connection was a bit hit & miss - well more miss than hit. What a lovely part of the country, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Not much in the way of plans today - some washing, a small food shop & tackle the weeds that have flourished in the few days we were away. Hopefully there will be time to sit & enjoy the warm sunshine we haven't had enough of this spring.
Hope we're all able to enjoy this lovely weather. ((Hugs)) and 💐to those of you with worries and struggles.

kittylester Sat 20-May-23 07:38:11

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire. I think we are promised sun later.

Last home game of the season for Dh and DS1 who are trying to decide whether to renew their season tickets. I hope they do - I enjoy the empties.

All I have scheduled is feeding them before they go!

Have a good day all.

Marydoll Sat 20-May-23 07:38:18

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 11°C.

I'm glad to hear you are being well looked after, Mizuna. I think I spotted the sign of three pears!

A day of doing nothing yesterday, didn't need much persuading. The same again today.
Enjoy your barbie, multi,

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

GrannySomerset Sat 20-May-23 07:38:32

Plant sale in the next village beckons but nothing else scheduled. Weather looks promising so time in the garden looks a good idea - a bit of weeding and then reading, a great way to pass the time.

Grandmabatty Sat 20-May-23 07:38:52

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and grey. I'm hoping it burns off later. Karma I love the sound of your garden. It sounds beautiful. Cornergran what a lovely time you both have had! The. Photos are evidence of that. Grey duster I always think a summer cold feels worse somehow. Get well soon. Whitewave have a lovely holiday.
Yesterday was busy and mostly very nice. I arrived home from Aldi early on to a call from dd who was on her way to me with dgs2 and a maple pecan pastry (my favourite). We had a blether then i headed out to meet two friends for a late breakfast/early lunch. A bacon roll and two pots of tea and lots more chat. One of my friends had sepsis a couple of months ago and was extremely ill. It was nice to see her. Then I visited mum who was so much better than the day before. It's a rollercoaster right enough. I made a lovely lamb dish for dinner which I hadn't tried before and it was delicious. Then I went onto Next website and ordered clothes for my holiday with dd, sil and the boys in July. So a very nice day indeed.
Today I'm meeting another friend for a late breakfast at my local garden centre and to hand over her very late birthday gift. We've had to cancel meeting up three times due to illness etc. I'm looking forward to seeing her. There will be plant shopping too I'm certain. I'll visit mum after that. The other two lamb steaks for dinner tonight so I'll look for a different recipe for them. Have a good day all

Grandmabatty Sat 20-May-23 07:40:40

Marydoll take care x. Susan I'm sorry, I forgot to say thank you for the virtual bouquet yesterday.😊

Good morning all. Arrived in Fuerteventura on Wednesday evening just in time for food before the hotel buffet closed. Thursday morning was quite chilly which is when the photo was taken. Yesterday was a lot warmer. Internet is very patchy though.

Very sad to hear about Umstongran’s husband. They are in my thoughts. Marydoll please don’t overdo things as you are going through the mill atm. Have a good day all.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 20-May-23 07:44:43

Good morning all from sunny Bourton yesterday we went to Cheltenham, but the day was a bit showery. When we got back to Bourton, there had obviously been quite a downpour. The river flowing outside our cottage was quite high. We are hoping to visit sudeley castle today.

harrigran Sat 20-May-23 07:47:02

Good morning from a misty NE.
CCTV maintenance man came at 9.30 yesterday and I told him that one of the cameras was stuck in night mode, he unplugged a cable and put it back in and it worked.
I had to ring the surgery because they rejected my repeat prescription, the receptionist said they knew I had plenty but I don't they will run out while I am on holiday.
My guts are playing up and I am feeling quite unwell so I am resting rather than working.
DS and GD2 are coming at lunchtime and we will spend the rest of the day together while DIL stays at home and prepares for their holiday.
Have a good weekend.
