Lovely Aldom smile

Aldom Thu 25-May-23 12:29:19

And here's another flag iris, from my garden.

Blossoming Thu 25-May-23 12:16:04

My hiatus hernia has been giving me grief recently Hollysteers, you have my sympathy! I hope yours settles soon. Love the iris, we have some gorgeous yellow flag by the pond.

Good morning everyone from Sunny Lancashire. It’s warmer today, I may finally pack the thermal tops away! The oven repair man came on Tuesday and declared the oven deceased. We were kind of expecting that as it’s around 25 years old. A new oven has been ordered and paid for, it is being delivered and fitted on Friday.

Congratulations Taichinan what wonderful news!

Have a good day 🌻🌻🌻

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Thank you Litterpicker, I’m still in recovery mode 😁after the severe attack on Tuesday night, but joking apart, it’s no joke as my stomach is churning, nausea, headache and tiredness🙄 I’m waiting for an appointment at the hospital for this hernia, but it’s been months and heard nothing…such a waste as I could be walking in the dunes at the bottom of the road or enjoying the garden.
Hopefully things will have settled for art in the morning and DFs visit in the evening. I have a book of 873 pages to occupy me, it’s very good…
I will read through properly later, but send thoughts to all with troubles.
This solitary iris popped up out of the blue, my favourite flower, not planted by me.

Good Morning from a beautifully sunny Co Armagh,

I think I’ll pot on the tomatoes into the gro bags today , they are still small , but they are of mixed varieties of cherry tomatoes so maybe smaller plants
Selfsown foxgloves are in full bloom now , I failed to grow the cultivated type but these popped up
My friends daughter has been diagnosed with cancer , I’m struggling to take it in
Prayers redoubled for all on here and at home

Grandmabatty Thu 25-May-23 09:57:07

Taichinan congratulations to you all!

Grammaretto Thu 25-May-23 09:54:06

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Overcast and no Summer clothes on yet.
I'm still tired but happy after my wonderful day out to the Isle of May with DGD on Tuesday! We saw puffins and seals but I think her favourite part was the splashy speedboat trip there!

Yoga today, pottery and lots of admin.
I am glad your surgery looks to be going ahead at last Mick
Fingers 🤞 for you and for the Oops clan who have such worries.
Mizuna I m glad you will be getting home soon to your pear tree.
How lovely to be pushing a pram again Marydoll and in such nice weather.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Stilllearning Thu 25-May-23 09:46:24

A late good morning from S Lanarkshire, blue sky here and warmth in the air, we’ve had so much cold wind even on bright days.

Congratulations Taichinan, I can feel your joy!

A wonderful day for you too grandMattie, have the best day.

Hope your DD improves soon Oops and that you do feel the benefit of your op Mizuna.

I’m off to the farm to visit DD whose recovery from her eye op is slow. I’ll take Lidl’s Portuguese tarts, hopefully they’ll cheer her up!

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 25-May-23 09:35:27

Congratulations Taichinan - I doubt I’ll see another baby is this family! I’d love to do some pram pushing!

harrigran Thu 25-May-23 09:33:42

Good morning from a sunny NE where it is 15 degrees.
Spent the day washing and ironing but did manage twenty minutes fresh air in the garden.
Another day of sorting clothes for my holiday, so looking forward to my week in Scotland.
Hope poorly people have a better day and safe journey to those travelling.

luluaugust Thu 25-May-23 09:28:40

Good morning all from a bright W Kent. I have joined the voltarol and ibuprofen brigade having sprained my ankle I know not how! Hobbling off to art group for a chat and a quick paint.
Oops very sorry, it must have been a shock.
Marydoll enjoy the pram pushing and I hope the shoulder holds up.
Congrats Taichinan what lovely news.
Best wishes to all.

Sar53 Thu 25-May-23 09:21:57

Good morning from a sunny and bright day in Essex by the sea, although it looks a little windy outside.
First load of washing is on. It does dry quickly these warmer days.
Congratulations to Taichinan and her DGS and family, how exciting.
I hope you get some good news about your DD Oops, a worrying time for you all.
Have a lovely day everyone and hopefully the sun will shine for you all xxx

GrannySomerset Thu 25-May-23 09:15:51

A mix of good news and bad this morning, so congratulations to Taichinan and commiserations to Gwen and supporting noises to the Oopses.

Lovely morning to show off peonies, geraniums and alliums which have all burst into flower. U3A book group this morning to discuss “A Little Life” which was a mega read and will provoke a lively discussion I hope. This afternoon. I need to collect a silk rug bought in India which has been repaired at a cost greater than its original price but which I love and have missed. The sight of it in the sitting room is a reminder of the great holidays DH and I were lucky enough to have.

Enjoy the sunshine, all of us who have it!

Jaxjacky Thu 25-May-23 09:12:25

How exciting Taichinan congratulations to all.

Anniebach Thu 25-May-23 09:11:53

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

NanaDana Thu 25-May-23 09:08:42

Good morning all, from a gloriously sunny bonny Berwick upon Tweed. Bought 24 Geranium and 4 Fuchsia plants yesterday, assuming that we've seen the last of the frosts this year, even in these Northern climes. So gardening gloves on later today, but only after we've had our morning stroll with our two pooches down to the River Tweed wharf, where a pot of tea and a homemade scone beckon at Lowry's cafe. Hope your day goes well.

brook2704 Thu 25-May-23 09:03:48

That’s wonderful news Taichinan congratulations to your DGS1 and partner!

EkwaNimitee Thu 25-May-23 09:00:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from warm sunny Carlisle.

It was a busy day of housework, laundry and admin yesterday.
Today, I am shortly going to mow my little front lawn, then have coffee before departing for the hospital where they have decided a venesection is due. I've not had one since January so my iron levels must have crept up. After that, I have to pop into Sainsbury's on the way home before an afternoon of doing very little.

karmalady I feel your garden would be enhanced by the addition of a glamping pod so nosy GN'ers could come to stay and enjoy the good vibes!

Congratulations to you Taichinan!

And my best wishes to your DD Oops, for her speedy recovery.

And the best of days to you all.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-May-23 08:52:29

Good morning from sunny Cornwall.

ginster that looks swollen - hopefully it will soon calm down.

mizuma I am sure you will find a difference once you are up and back to your routine. Look at the glorious weather🙂

My activity will be limited today as I have a huge painful blister, can’t understand it as my sandals were ones I wore last summer. I guess my feet have got soft over the winter. So the plan is to have a stroll in some woods, then perhaps a potter around some shops and back to the cottage to relax.

Enjoy your day one and all

BlueSapphire Thu 25-May-23 08:46:40

Good morning everyone from a clear blue-skied Northampton, forecast wall-to-wall sunshine today.

A Sainsbury's delivery this morning, then an early lunch before going to my dance classes. Then home to spend a couple of hours reading in the garden.

Don't know what to have for dinner tonight, hoping inspiration will strike....

Have a good day everyone.

Taichinan Thu 25-May-23 08:31:46

Good morning Mick and all. It's a hazier morning, but the sun's still there. Goodness, that was a glorious day yesterday! I really wouldn't complain if we had more like that!
What a shock for you Oops, I'm so sorry and hope news is better today flowers.
Good you have the date for your op Mick. It's been hanging over you for so long now - you'll be glad when it's behind you. Enjoy your catch-up with friends this morning.
At a loss to understand what threat you could pose for the tai chi group's insurance Grandmattie - unless it's to do with numbers versus hall size. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and everybody is welcoming. There are so many forms of tai chi - although I think they all incorporate the same moves just in perhaps a different order. It will be interesting for you. Oh, and welcome back to your DS - not only in the same country, but the same town!
Enjoy your pram pushing today Marydoll - a magical occupation!
I had some wonderful news yesterday. It came in the form of a photo of a first scan - such a clear photo, I swear I could see the family likeness already! Yes, dear Reader - I am to become a great-granny in November! I am just so excited! It took a minute or two to realise - I was so taken with the idea of DS1 being a Papa! 😁. Anyway, the proud parents-to-be are DGS1 and his partner. They miscarried their first one about 15 months ago, which makes this pregnancy so special, and they are just so over the moon!
Now I must climb down from Cloud 9 and get myself ready for today's tai chi class. Enjoy the ☀️ and 🌺 wherever you are and I hope those under the weather have a better day x

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 25-May-23 08:28:10

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Enjoy your family GrandMattie nice to be close to them. Sorry to hear Miss Oops is in hospital hope all is solved and she’s out soon Oopsadaisy
Yesterday took DSis to the station went home for lunch, then back to the station for a train to York for my hospital appointment. A great disappointment. I have a large hiatus hernia which means my breathing is inhibited, but if I had the tricky operation my breathing is not likely to improve! I’m gutted!!
Have the best day possible folks

Litterpicker Thu 25-May-23 08:25:14

Good morning from a cloudy East Lothian. Sun is forecast to return later. Yesterday was a perfect spring day. We walked along the riverside and were enveloped in cow parsley sprinkled with the red, blue and yellow of the flowers in among them.

Twin DGSs are 15 years old today. I made, on request, one coffee and one chocolate sponge yesterday. Need to ice them this morning.

I met up with my sister and niece in Edinburgh on Tuesday. DSis and I had a lovely walk and picnic by the Water of Leith. My niece met up with us after work and took us to a cool cocktail bar where, she assured us, we could get the cup of tea we were gasping for. One G&T later (same for DSis and exotic cocktail for niece) later, we emerged very cheerful and not missing the tea at all!
JL are delivering a washing machine sometime before 9.45. The front door is just wide enough, we hope.

An old friend is coming after lunch. We will go into town for tea and cake 🙂

Mick it’s good you have a date for your op. Look after yourself in the meantime.
Hollysteers I hope your heartburn has cleared.
Baggs I am envious of your orchids.
Ooops I hope they will find a cause and treatment for MissOoops. What a shock for you.

The best possible day to all.
