Good morning everyone from a cloudy grey Northampton. According to my weather app it should be brilliant sunshine!

A lazy day for me, as I did not sleep well last night; will probably spend most of it reading the papers and 'Hamnet'. Some bits of tidying up to do first.

Enjoyed my shopping trip yesterday, bought a new dress in Next, and a nightdress in Sainsbury's, which had a 25% off sale on. I like to slip a short summer nightie on in the summer mornings, rather than a dressing gown.

Glad MissOops is feeling better, and hope she gets home today.

Wishing all a good Saturday. Hoping for sunshine 🌞 here!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's looking to be another sunny day. It's the annual parade, Rideout and fair today so the town will fill with horses and bands. I have a ringside seat because I live in the town centre.
My DGC are coming from the Highlands to watch.
I was up late mowing the lawn and baking a cake.

So sorry to hear about the misses Oops and Gingster wishing both families a happy outcome.

Mick take it easy. I'd hate to think you won't have the important surgery due to being too poorly.

I hope you all have some fun this weekend.

A quick morning all from a beautiful and sunny looking Kew. Younger son and daughter are arriving later this morning. My granddaughter always loves seeing them. Possibly a wander round Kew Gardens and lunch at Pizza Express. Have a good day and I hope those ill daughters perk up soon.💐

Good morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It promises to be a gorgeous hot day.
Thankyou for all your lovely kind messages for our Grandson yesterday he is just gorgeous. They are all well and will be in hospital a good few days as that’s what is done in China if you can afford it. They have booked 5 days in a private hospital and DS stays too. They get all the support they need. My DIL isn’t up and about yet after her caesarean and being put to sleep. In her confusion when she awoke she thought she still had to push even though baby was laid next to her.

This weekend we are very busy we have my sister and brother in law staying as it’s my best friend’s 60th birthday party tonight and we have a houseful later putting up family and friends after the party. DH will be cooking a huge big breakfast for everyone in the morning.
We are visiting family this weekend so it should be fun. I’m at the hairdressers this morning getting my hair curled for the occasion and hoping to pour myself into a dress without looking too lumpy and bumpy tonight.

Gingster sending your DD all my best wishes and hugs as she is going through this difficult time💐and to you you must be so worried💐

Sending MissOops all my healing virtual hugs too💐

So many family worries at the moment.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. Enjoy the sunshine if you can🌻🌻

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

Talking of No mow May, we passed very overgrown areas in Glasgow, maintained by the Council, which hadn't been mowed. They are usually well looked after.

Nothing much to report. Yesterday was a day of pottering in the sunshine and lying in the conservatory with the doors wide open.
I spent some time in the garden, but had to enlist the help of an exhausted post golf 😉 Mr MD, the excrutiating pain in my hands, is making life difficult. I may have to go back to wearing those awful splints, which I hate with a passion. They are a reminder of the days I struggled at work.

Today, will be much of the same. I have to deal with the mind numbing church inventory, which needs completed for insurance purposes. Everything has to be photographed and recorded and my young sacristan friend has been a great help. I'm nearly there.

All the poorlies and those struggling at the moment are in my prayers, candles will be lit. Its good to know you are home, Mizuna,
Mick, I know you are feeling uncomfortable, but I have always been advised to keep moving, when my back is painful.

Have an enjoyable Saturday.

Morning from another sunny S Yorks day.

Probably just an easy gym for physio exercises and maybe later a drive out to lovely High Peak places.
Family have hit it lucky at the seaside weatherise for the weekend.

Gingster an awful time so glad your DD has pain relief and being looked after. glad Miss Oops is getting a bit better. Once I googled and understood it, No mow May made sense to me, tho they are keeping reasonably on top of the grass verges,

Best days possible all whatever your situations.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and sunny. We've had a spell of nice weather. Mick I hope your back improves. Gingster and Oops your daughters are in my thoughts.
Yesterday the only journey I made was to drop off a gift to my friend's partner. His sister was there, and a neighbour and a joint friend so I'm glad he had company. Dgs1 came down with a sickness bug which will explain the sleeping on Thursday afternoon at my house. He's been quite poorly, wee scone. I didn't visit mum in case it was lurking in me. So far, so good.
Today I intend to clean out the fridge. Then spend time in the garden. Have a good day all

Good morning from a sunny NE.
DS picking me up in a couple of hours and we are off to Scotland for our family holiday.
The house has a gym, a cinema, grand piano and a hot tub so everyone is catered for. I am looking forward to hearing GD playing the piano.
Hope all poorly relatives improve soon.
Have a good Bank Holiday weekend.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 27-May-23 08:13:07

Morning all

We shall wander down the road to local butchers this morning, then I have a very large box containing DGD’s birthday gift to wrap ready for tomorrow. I want to start emptying broken garden pots in readiness for the removal of all of the decking.

Gingster so sad to learn your DD is back in hospital, how worrying for you all.

Oops fingers crossed MissOops will be home today.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Our Council mow regularly but leave clumps unmown for wildlife. We do the same in our garden. Best of both.

Sar53 Sat 27-May-23 08:18:28

Good morning from a bright and breezy Essex by the sea.
Thinking of Gingster and Oops daughters today.
My eldest brother is 66 today, officially a 'pensioner' now. He isn't in the best of health but makes the most of his days.
Coffee and tea cake in town later then some food shopping.
Only four weeks to go until my big birthday lunch, I cannot believe that I booked it all in January, time flies.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and lets hope the sun shines for us all xxx

Greyduster Sat 27-May-23 08:28:13

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. As Wyllow says, the sun is up in South Yorkshire again. Sorry to hear about your back, Mick. Move around as much as you can - sounds counter intuitive but it does help. Not much doing here today. I have a small food shop to do, a beef casserole to make and the floors to wash; then I will tackle a bit more gardening.
Hope the piano has been tuned Harri - the last one we found in a rental house sounded truly awful!
Gingster💐💐. Not easy.
Have the best day you can folks.

Taichinan Sat 27-May-23 08:29:02

Good morning all from a sunny (but lots of cloud about) Angus coast. It must have been a cold night because the outsides of the north-facing
windows were covered in condensation. I thought it was a 'grey day' at first!
So sorry for the continuing worries with your daughter's Oops and gingster and I hope things begin to pick up soon.
A lovely day here again yesterday and I accomplished some long-outstanding tasks around the house and garden - with lots of stops 'to admire the view' on the way 😉. Unfortunately the wind (as opposed to breeze) got up in the afternoon and I couldn't find a single little sit-ootery that was sheltered from it. But not to worry - I plonked a chair just inside the patio doors and still managed to enjoy the sun from there. (The number of places to sit that I have scattered around my garden says an awful lot about my #lazygran ways!)
This morning I really must pop into town for some things, not least some cash to pay Lovely Gardener his monthly money, so I shall head showerwards now.
I hope your back eases off Mick, and enjoy your time with your DS grandmattie.
Regarding No mow May, we didn't do that here, but a couple of years ago I set aside a bit of the garden, near the pond, to grow wild and that seems to be going well and can look quite attractive. At the moment all the daffodils are being left to die back naturally - another week or so yet - so the side garden is looking decidedly no-mow without intent!
Have a good day/holiday weekend everyone x

EkwaNimitee Sat 27-May-23 08:38:11

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle where we might or might not get some rain.
Sorry about your back Mick, that can be very painful so I hope it soon improves.

I'm still feeling knocked back a bit by last Thursday's venesection so will still be taking life gently. I've cancelled a shopping trip into town but intend to get stuff done albeit with rests in between. Frustrating though.

What an awful day you and your DD spent Gingster. My thoughts are with you all.

Wishing you an enjoyable weekend.

multicolourswapshop Sat 27-May-23 08:54:37

Good morning all, it’s another glorious start to the morning here on the East coast of Fife. I’m having a few visitors today and I shall be sitting in the garden for a little while, must put the sun cream on especially as I’ve a basil cell carcinoma on my shin bone.
I’m also preparing for my annual family friends and neighbours annual bbq
I love organising these things

Have a good day my friends

NannyJan53 Sat 27-May-23 09:23:11

Good morning from a sunny Black Country, where cloud is building up.

Gorgeous day yesterday, so we BBQ'd Mackerel last night. It was delicious.

Bit of housework this morning, then who knows?

Wishing you all a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.

hollysteers Sat 27-May-23 09:55:32

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside (a very sunny side) northwest coast. The hiatus hernia/sickness/gastritis attack has calmed down, so this morning I WILL go down to the sea again, or rather the sand dunes.
Really enjoyed art yesterday even though off colour, I enjoyed the company and as they say, it took me out of myself.

My DF didn’t come over for the night as he is in a state of anxiety over his macular degeneration/detached retina and has started a course of anti depressants. It calls into question our trip abroad next month…
My treat last night was my new all white crinkle cotton duvet set, so fresh looking. I have always had patterns.
I’m so sorry you are having a hard time Gingster🌹, hope your back improves Mick, good to be home Mizuna and thoughts to Oops and all with worries.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 27-May-23 09:55:48

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Sorry your back is troubling you Mick take care.
Glad your DD has a name for her problem Oopsadaisy and is getting treatment for it - hope she is home soon.
Sorry your DD is back in hospital Gingster what a worry for you.
Yesterday was busy getting rid of spider webs and the occasional spider went too. Today I plan to do some baking, then DDis coming round with DGS, so a junior tea is in order
Have the best day possible folks

luluaugust Sat 27-May-23 10:15:11

Good morning from a bright W Kent. A quiet few days as the family are either away or getting ready for the builders to arrive, so DH and I will have time for a bit of shopping and a stroll if our backs are up to it.
Sorry about your back Mick, not a good club to be in, such a pest.
Lovely news Shazza friends and I look back with nostalgia at the luxury of 10 days in hospital after baby's arrival, not what we thought at the time of course.
Best wishes to all who are poorly and those faced with difficult problems.

aggie Sat 27-May-23 10:35:03

Good morning from a sunny Co Armagh
I’ve been out watering pots before the sun reaches them , seems I’ve planted out my tomatoes in the greenhouse too early , I should have waited till they had flowers on !
Nothing planned for today , I might sit out with my crochet
Prayers for poorly and sad people
