This is our first weekend at home for weeks.
I have a clean home, full fridge, empty ironing and washing baskets and the garden is looking fabulous.
I am so looking forward to an enjoying the sunshine at home.
Our son, DIL and their new puppy are coming up from London later this morning and I cannot wait.
How are you spending this sunny Bank Holiday weekend?

It’s not sour grapes but I really don’t want to be out on the roads this weekend unless I have to

It's the busiest week of the year on the roads, according to an AA report I heard years ago as we set off for the South-West, on a family visit.

It's half-term, the weather's good and people want to head off to the coast at the first real opportunity.
In the school summer holidays it's staggered over the six weeks.

Spent yesterday manning our village plant sale. It went very well and we sold almost everything. Today just sorting out all my pots in front of the house. The plants I have grown for them have been slow growers but I am not waiting any longer.
Later going to a local amateur art exhibition if I can be bothered!

Last night’s concert was great fun. The second half was a mock up of Last Night of the Proms so we waved our flags and sang loudly. Supper afterwards was superb.

This morning I tried to find an off the beaten track plant nursery as I drove to pick up Peggy but got hopelessly lost and gave up even if the village I ended up in was very pretty.

A late lunch about to be eaten, quick snooze and an afternoon’s gardening is about all I now have the energy for. 😂

I thought I'd relax in the garden this afternoon after doing a few tasks this morning and some gardening.
However, a pigeon has shit sorry, pooed on my sun lounger so I've been scrubbing that with Dettol and it's too damp to sit on. ☹

I need to clean my garden furniture too as I noticed the cushions I'd stored in the shed are covered in presumably pigeon poo from last year too but the rattan frame are also covered in it. We have so many pigeons and they are at it constantly aren't they?

Sago your wisteria photo was well worth waiting for.
A beautiful garden.

Keep them coming it’s lovely to hear your plans and imagine you in the different settings.
I will try again to post a pic of my Wisteria.

A good year for wisteria - or seems so from the look of yours and ours.

Love the arch, we have some similar and gravel paths - lovely!

Yes, as soon as the baby fledged they're out there at it again!

Or did you mean pooing JaneJudge?
😊

no I meant the constant sex grin they are dreadful!

Callistemon21 Sun 28-May-23 19:40:17

😁
It's all the pre-coitus fighting!! So noisy and annoying, especially when it's on my pergola.

And they come for a drink in the bird bath then turn round and deliberately poo in it.

So rude!

Our wood pigeons clearly had a vindaloo last night, bloody things they just s**g and s**t.
We have a pair of much classier stock doves, they are shy but come and drink in our little fountain in the evening.

Same here with my resident wood pigeons. The patio (or should I say terrace Nancy Mitford?) splattered after jet washing🙄
We should shoot them and make pigeon pie as they did in Ye Olden days.

Callistemon21 Mon 29-May-23 10:32:12

Sago 😁
hollysteers I've threatened them with a pastry crust but they don't care. This morning they were sitting in my newly planted pots, munching on the plants.

That's giving Neanderthals a bad name 😁
