How to spend Saturday morning!

Typical for every GP on Sunday as well. No rest for the weary, chase, cook, chase, read silly books, 'look at me ride' and on and on.

Typical-just as we're all packing up to leave the Sun decided to come out! I'd been sitting in long cardi and fleece,and was contemplating getting my gloves out as well.

My GS has played football in the season on a Sunday since the age of seven and we went most weeks, home and away, rain or shine when DH was here. His attitude was that if the boys could turn out in any weather, so could we (sometimes I just wanted to stay in bed!). I haven’t been to see him this season at all for one unavoidable reason or another. I’ll make more effort next season (and pick my battles weather wise!). Sadly he’s given up cross country now.

I told my son recently on a frozen cold footie pitch watching one of our DGS play ‘I think I have the start of hypothermia’. He said he would give me a hug and he felt as cold as me ⛄️☃️

I’m so glad my lot generally preferred indoor pursuits. 😂

Been doing it at football, off and on, for 45 years. Global warming hasn't seemed to make any noticeable to how flipping cold it is.

Also had a period of doing it at cross country- rarely anything to see at all.

Oh, and netball but that doesn't last as long.

Oh I remember so well the freezing football matches when my son was young. Today he is taking his young son to football training and I've had the fun of watching it on WhatsApp whilst sitting in a cafe drinking tea.
