Sounds a wonderful day ahead ann. I’m delighted for you.

Not much happening here today. Routine stuff and hopefully a sit in the garden once the shade arrives. I enjoy sitting looking at the roses and ignoring the weeds.

Yesterday was a headache. One of those not always helpful on line chats and several emails secured the speedy return of a voucher we now can’t use if Mr C’s surgery goes ahead as planned. I was impressed and told the organisation so.

Then it was on to a challenge in the big computer. What I thought was a simple question led to no less than 3 hours on the phone with four Apple magicians. I travelled from Ireland to America and finally to a wonderfully humorous French woman who had the answer that had escaped the men coming before her.

The final challenge was with the hospital system for emailed correspondence which doesn’t seem to like Mr C. A step forward, a few more to go.

Dust removal this morning will be a welcome change grin.

That photo triggered many memories of our children and grandchildren just looking in awe granmarie. Thank you for sharing it.

Good to know you’re on the mend grandmab. How you feeling now jax? Hope the second viewing was positive yia and your husband is being a patient patient brook. You’re sunsets are the best soop, magical

Best be off. Dust won’t remove itself. Hope to be done in the relative cool of the morning Then it’s on to my date with the shade and the roses.

Stay cool everyone.

Yiayia4 Tue 13-Jun-23 10:08:33

Morning everyone.
Quick update we have just put in an offer on the bungalow. It needs lots of work so it’s a low offer! will let you know later.

Hope your feeling better Jax.
Love your pic Anne. You have lovely hair.
Love the wee boy Grandmarie. I agree about frizzy hair in this heat,I’ve just been washing and leaving mine to dry then a bit of wax,it’s naturally curly so a real pain.
Will catch up later keep cool everyone.

RosesandLilac Tue 13-Jun-23 14:01:39

Good afternoon, another Notalot day here, though thankfully it’s far less humid than yesterday. We had plenty of thunder all yesterday afternoon but not a drop of rain so had to water everything again last night.
I feel totally disinclined to do anything today so that’s what I’ll do, perhaps a bit of knitting or sketching but definitely listening to a podcast I think.
I must admit a Gimlet sounds intriguing……😋

Nannytopsy Tue 13-Jun-23 14:12:56

Another warm, dry part of the country here in Suffolk. Unlike our friends who came home from holiday to find two ceilings down and water exiting their house through the front door. All carpets now removed, beds, furniture …
I do so feel for them, with no electricity or running water.
I should’ve pegging out washing and gardening. Will someone please delivery the much needed kick up the a… ? Thanks in advance.

Jaxjacky Tue 13-Jun-23 15:17:10

Oh good news Yia I have everything crossed for you.
Saw my GP this morning, she said I caught the problem very early, haematology call next Tuesday will give specific advice. I feel ok, apart from the odd twinge I’m fine. The threatened statins are now a no no because of my nosebleed risk, called in the pharmacy to tell them.
I got my iPhone back from its warranty fix, I’ve been using a loaned Samsung, totally alien.
Good you got the computer fixed corner excellent that they persevered.
Oh Nannytopsy that happened to my brother just before Christmas, small solace it’s not winter.
I really ought to go for a walk, but it’s far too hot, 29, no way will a walk happen!
Ttfn.

Good afternoon kitcheners. 25° here and tempers have frayed. Dgs1 didn't have a good day at nursery. He had to be spoken to for copying others throwing dirt. He is contrite. However he and his little brother have been at daggers drawn this afternoon and driven me crazy. Lots of not sharing and grabbing toys from each other. They did settle eventually when I brought them in from the garden and after they both howled. I tell you, I could have howled too! Everything ended well. They danced to Alexa and even held hands at one point. And both helped tidy up. Dgs2 is hard work though. I'll visit mum shortly then have dinner on my return. Then I'll water the garden. Yiayia I'm thoroughly delighted that you have found a house. You can make it your own. Nannytopsy what a nightmare for your friends. Have a good evening Kitcheners

annsixty Tue 13-Jun-23 18:14:28

What a day Grandmabatty I can sense your relief it is over.
When you get in have a relaxing glass of something even if it is only Tuesday.

My day went ok but harder work than I expected.
I have only met this cousin once before Covid.
He has lost a lot of weight and a bit of something else too.
His hearing had deteriorated and I found myself shouting and repeating myself a lot.
He is 14 years younger than me.
However it was lovely to see him , it may not happen again.

I sat in the cool and fell asleep when he had gone.
Now refreshed but not at all hungry.
Have the best evening you can everyone.

Good evening dear Kitcheners. Another hot day, still no sign of any rain or storms. I was up bright and early this morning following a really good night’s sleep. Bit surprising in this heat! I did 2 loads of washing, put the first load out on the line then decided to go for a walk before things heated up even more. Second lot of washing was ready to go out when I got home but I needed a sit down so MrB very kindly took over. He gave me toast with jam for lunch, too hot to eat so he has to coax me with comfort food. I think he may be a keeper grin

Lazy afternoon putting dry laundry away, writing a shopping list for tomorrow and relaxing in a cool shady spot. It gets very windy here by the river and I’m glad of it on days like this.

What a lovely picture Grannmarie. I hope you’ve had a lovely day Annsixty.

Ooh Yia so excited for you! Really glad you’ve spoken to your doctor Jax and things are moving in the right direction. What a day Grandmabatty, hope you have a good rest later.

Have a peaceful evening everyone, TOYA

Baggs Tue 13-Jun-23 19:41:48

Soop is sorry not to have visited the Kitchen today. Her computer is out of action. She hopes to borrow MrSoop's machine tomorrow. It is currently in the loft.

Blossoming Tue 13-Jun-23 20:35:16

Thank you Baggs, how is your wrist now?

SueDonim Tue 13-Jun-23 20:42:54

The source of my unwellness at the weekend has now revealed itself. I felt dreadful this morning and managed to get an Dr’s appointment. A kidney infection. I haven’t had one of those since 1980! A week of antibiotics, painkillers and drink, drink drink. Water, that is. I’ve only taken one tablet so far and have begun to feel better already.

Take care, everyone. Xxx

Blossoming Tue 13-Jun-23 20:49:22

Ugh! Kidney infections are UTI’s mean big brother. Glad you’re diagnosed and on antibiotics, hope it disappears quickly.

Grandmabatty Tue 13-Jun-23 21:29:47

Suedonim rotten luck for you. I hope it passes soon

Jaxjacky Tue 13-Jun-23 21:45:00

Good you were swiftly seen SueD antibiotics will hopefully sort you out speedily.

brook2704 Tue 13-Jun-23 21:58:01

Thanks for the update on soop, baggs, good to know it’s just a technical hitch
Hope you’re feeling much better soon SueD, good that the tablets are working so quickly
We’re just home from a busy day out and about. The school pick up, dropping DGD off at dance and then choir, going to the choir concert which was brilliant and then the pick up of both DGC from cubs. All this with me in the driving seat, DH in the passenger seat and two lively children in the back! DH wasn’t really complaining about my driving so much Blossoming, it’s more that he’s morphed into the sat nav giving me directions at every roundabout and junction …. 🤣
I’m keeping fingers and toes crossed for you Yia hope it’s accepted
Good job you’re quick off the mark Jax, hope it’s sorted soon
Grandmabatty the joys ! You deserve another medal 🏅

Nannytopsy Tue 13-Jun-23 23:42:51

I’m glad Jax & SueD have seen their GPs and have the right treatment now. Get well soon girls!
🤞 Yiayia that this goes well for you.
We are early toned tonight, for us - it’s not even midnight! WI tomorrow evening and I’m not at all prepared for it. Not used to being president yet, so I forget what I need to do!
NNGB everyone

Nannytopsy Tue 13-Jun-23 23:43:26

To bed not toned!

Yiayia4 Wed 14-Jun-23 09:49:19

Good morning Kitcheners.Latest update its bad news yet again. The bungalow is a probate sale and the family want the full asking price. It needs a new kitchen, bathroom, flooring and decorating plus outside fencing panels to be replaced. We would have been happy to have all this done at the right price but sadly not to be!😖Not sure how much more I can take,or our buyers!
Get well soon SueD and hope your feeling better Jax.
It’s feeling very hot again have a good day everyone

Blossoming Wed 14-Jun-23 10:08:47

Sorry you’re disappointed again Yia, you will find your new home in time.

annsixty Wed 14-Jun-23 10:23:23

Such a disappointment again Yai you have to believe that the right property is out there waiting to be found, so hard though it is.
Another hot day here although I do feel it may be a tad cooler than the last few.
I have a nothing day today after the last two and I am enjoying it already.
I had a Sainsbury’s delivery first thing yesterday with lots of salad and hot weather food including a piece of gammon which will go into the slow cooker for a couple of days meals.
Enjoy your day everyone if that is possible.

Baggs Wed 14-Jun-23 12:12:47

Blossoming

Thank you Baggs, how is your wrist now?

Thanks for asking, Bloss. It's doing OK. Haven't picked up my hedge-trimmer yet but I have brummed around with a light lawn-mower a few times. MrB deals with the heavy one. I think I have to accept that the Boggy Brae garden will be even wilder than usual this year.

Off swimming shortly. Still wearing a stretchy wrist support while swimming but the wimpy arm is getting stronger by the day.

annsixty, that's a lovely picture of you. I must investigate espresso martini!

annsixty Wed 14-Jun-23 12:30:43

They are delicious and decidedly moreish.
Enjoy one if you can.

Grandmabatty Wed 14-Jun-23 12:43:11

Yiayia another disappointment for you. I'm sorry.
It's 25° here in central Scotland with a slight breeze. I have been to the hairdresser, put out two washes which are practically dry, tidied up the garden after the mayhem of yesterday, hoovered and tidied the kitchen. I've also sat out in the shade as I can't take full sun for long. I love long, dry summer days. Lunch shortly. I made smoked mackerel paté a couple of days ago so I'll leave some in the kitchen.

soop Wed 14-Jun-23 14:27:28

Thank you, dear Baggs for passing on my message. You are a GOOD pal. smile

I am astonished to discover umpteen messages that I must catch up with sometime this afternoon.

In the car, en route to the village shop mid-morning, the temperature read 31deg. We returned home feeling totally whacked and lifeless.

Yia Having been in your situation, I know how disappointing and frustrating you must be feeling right now. Your fortunes will change. Us lot will celebrate with you when that day arrives.

SueD Kidney infections are horrible. Thankfully, now that the cause for your unwellness has been diagnosed, you will soon be on the road to recovery. flowers

RosesandLilac You have adopted a very pretty and fragrant name. Welcome.

soop Wed 14-Jun-23 14:33:18

annsixty You are very photogenic. Lovely!

Grannmarie Your photo is super special. I would enlarge and frame it.

Nannytopsy Your flower photographs are a joy. We have wild yellow Iris. Sadly, no purple.

Tomorrow we have early morning dental appointments. Yikes!! I am already feeling a tad tense.
