That was quite rude of me forgetting to say Good Morning everyone.
A dull day here but we are promised more sun in a few days.
I am enjoying breakfast in bed courtesy of my GD, she looks after me so well.
A little bit of cupboard love as she is going out later and may stay over with her friend who now has her own flat.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Grannmarie Sat 01-Jul-23 09:29:16

Both outfits are really lovely, Neine, if I had to choose I'd pick the black and white dress because those accessories are very wedding-y, IYKWIM! Your church flower arrangements are beautiful, a labour of love for your dear friends ' special day. Enjoy.
Grandmabatty, what a beautiful cake, your DD has a good pair of hands !
We had a very wet Fair Day yesterday with DS1 and family, not a million miles from you, Grandmabatty. DGD enjoyed her day, despite the pouring rain the procession went ahead. I hope your Mum gets a suitable move soon.
Cornergran, my sincere condolences to you and your DH. I'm hoping and praying that MrC. gets word soon. 💕🙏
Jaxjacky, I'm sorry you're still feeling unwell with side effects. Maybe it's time to enquire about a change of medication, if possible?
Granddog is here for his holidays, his family are off on theirs tomorrow. He slept really well, and we had a wee walk before breakfast. We don't do big walks anymore, he's 12 now and slowing down...
Wishing Soop and all Kitchen folk the best weekend possible.
TOYA.

Grandmabatty Sat 01-Jul-23 09:35:53

That would be Bo'ness Fair Day, Grannmarie. Well known in the area. The house decorations are something else! I'm glad your dgd managed to enjoy herself despite the awful weather. The care home mum is supposed to be going to is in Bo'ness. I've googled it and it looks lovely and it's just had an excellent care inspection so that's something.

Naughtyneine Sat 01-Jul-23 11:08:35

I've gone for the pink dress as I found a pink Pashmina that matched perfectly.. shall I put a picture on later?

Yiayia4 Sat 01-Jul-23 12:27:26

Hello Kitcheners.Neine we would love to see a pic have a wonderful time.
Sorry to hear your news Cornergran do hope Mr.C gets another date very soon.
Take care Jax hope the side effects ease.
We will get our survey report on Monday.🤞In the meantime we’re clearing out cupboards and being quite ruthless.😂
Have a good Saturday everyone.

Blossoming Sat 01-Jul-23 12:40:22

I love both of those outfits Neine, looking forward to seeing the pashmina!

Will keep fingers crossed Yia

Healing thoughts to any poorlies today ❤️

SueDonim Sat 01-Jul-23 12:55:18

Hello everyone. The weather forecast for here is dry and sunny intervals all day, which is probably why it’s rained several times since I got up. 😂 We’re visiting a friend with dementia for his birthday today then food shopping for the weekend. We’re away down south next week so I don’t want to buy too much. Just as well, with prices nowadays.

I’m most impressed by the flowers, Neine! I would not be capable of that. I love the pink outfit, very happy for a wedding.

That’s so sad and concerning, Corner. I hope MrC’s op goes ahead very soon. 🤞

Hope, you feel better soon, Jax and Annsixty.

Lovely cake, GMbatty!

TOYA. X

brook2704 Sat 01-Jul-23 15:36:23

Good afternoon kitchen pals, I’ve just dashed in from the garden as we’re having a really heavy shower, the conservatory roof is taking a battering but it’s doing the garden good. Kettle’s on and there’s some cherry scones to keep us going until later ,,,

Bet you could get used to that breakfast in bed ann how kind of your GD

We popped round to DD2s house first thing, they’re all away for the weekend to Crieff Hydro, and we’re looking after their little cat. We’d left him in safely home last night settled in his favourite chair. We arrived first thing this morning and there he was running towards us! I think he must have climbed out of the bathroom window and made a bid for freedom… we’re popping back later to check on him and will make sure the window is tightly closed

The pink looks beautiful neine, looking forward to seeing the pictures

I’m away too next week SueD visiting DD1 in Cambridge. DH isn’t up to the travelling yet though so he’ll be fending for himself whilst I’m away ..

Take care Jax it’s about time you were feeling better, so frustrating for you 💐

Jaxjacky Sat 01-Jul-23 15:55:30

Yes please for photos neine.
Your forecast and actual made me laugh SueD.
Ruthless is good Yia, my fingers are still crossed 🤞.
I’ve given myself a kick up the proverbial and am just trying to ignore it, no more winging Jax here!
It was cold this morning, so I had a lovely bath, unusual for me at this time of year, but it did the job, I’m about to tackle the crossword in my weekly paper.
I’m very impressed with how your Mr is getting on after his op brook, naughty cat!
Enjoy the rest of your day all.

soop Sat 01-Jul-23 15:59:59

Neine I really like the teal hat and shoes. I also like the pink dress.
Your flower arrangement is beautiful. Well done!

Jax Maybe it would help to return to your GP to discuss your soul-sapping symptoms.

Grandmabatty Your daughter has created a marvelous cake. Is it calorie free by any chance? wink

corner yet more sad news. So sorry. flowers

We have heard that another local friend is now receiving palliative care and, his daughter has also been diagnosed with cancer and is to have surgery.

We have a blustery, showery day. Tarbert is a bustling village today. It is holding the annual seafood festival. There were scores of stalls selling just about everything from hand knitted clothing to locally made cheeses/cakes/jams and some highly priced bottles of special Malt...and, of course, local seafood based specialties.
In spite of a sudden downpour everyone was in good spirits.

soop Sat 01-Jul-23 16:01:31

I am a step closer to parting with my crabby computer. A replacement could be with us by the end of next week.

Blossoming Sat 01-Jul-23 16:34:29

Good to hear from you Soop. Hope the PC worries are soon a thing of the past. Last time we were in Tarbert I used my iPad with a mobile data package from Truphone for internet access and it seemed to work pretty well. I don’t remember having connectivity problems. It was about 5 years ago.

Dizziness is a PITA Jax. I find anything involving a lot of bending, which means most house and garden tasks, seems to set it off. I try to organise my day depending on how wobbly I am. Today I have managed to sort laundry and do a ‘darks and colours’ wash, I’ll do ‘lights and whites’ tomorrow. It’s amazing how much bending and reaching such simple activities involve. I have also made a slow cooker chicken curry that we’ll have with some nan bread later. No walk today, it’s bright and sunny but really windy. I’ve had plenty of exercise today 😁

Jaxjacky Sat 01-Jul-23 17:05:36

Unfortunately these symptoms are side effects of the drug Apixaban soop but, it reduces the risk of horrendous nosebleeds, mega fingers crossed.
I have a call with haematology on the 10th.
You have my every sympathy Blossoming’ this has made me realise how others manage every single day with similar or worse hindrances in their lives, all deserve a big 💐.

annsixty Sat 01-Jul-23 17:26:34

My H was on Apixaban after a stroke Jaxjacky
When diagnosed with bladder cancer he was taken off it.
I think it was replaced by Clopidogral.
It is upsetting to have side effects from something supposed to be helping with some other illness.
I hope it settles down so that life becomes more comfortable for you.

Charleygirl5 Sat 01-Jul-23 17:51:28

Corner that was very unsettling for Mr C. The doctors need a kick up their rear especially as he has a date which of course will be cancelled any day soon.

I did my first (and last) online delivery with Fresh and Morrisons. One of the items ordered was a ready-made salad. Out of stock, no problem except the substitution was Argon hair conditioner charged at just under £4.

I spent an hour and visited 3 countries via the phone-America, a small African island and Romania. The girl in Romania was shocked and was going to inform her manager that the local Morrisons to me should do some delving because of that ridiculous substitution.

The money will be returned +£5 for my time wasted.

My last ridiculous substitution was ladies panty liners whereas I had ordered cat litter tray liners.

cornergran Sat 01-Jul-23 18:00:45

Hope those side effects settle soon jax. You’re really being impacted in an unpleasant way.

Love that pink dress neine and your flowers. Yes, photos please.

Another oh heck here. Our daughter in law (not yet 40) has been told the aortic aneurism she has harboured for some years is now dangerously large. We’re of course worried for her, more so because a procedure tried 2-3 years ago was unsuccessful because of the location of the aneurism. Outpatient appointment in three weeks to discuss what can be done. Please can that be all for a while? Enough now.

Had a decent day. Mr C wanted to venture forth for breakfast/brunch. It turned into the latter as the garden centre destination he chose was about an hour away along unhelpfully busy country roads. On the way out we were given vouchers for half price cream teas. Guess we’ll be back soon smile. No luck with finding a plant for a large pot we stopped at another garden centre, a hot drinks and a (very small, honestly) cake later we came home with a plant and a new door mat. Been hunting one since the hall flooring was replaced.

Little done here today. The new plant is potted and garden ornaments moved around, I do like a change out there. That’s about it.

This maturity lark sure does have its challenges. One is our contemporaries getting very sick. I’m sorry about your friend and his daughter soop. Life seems very unfair at times.

Breakfast in bed is my favourite treat ann. Nothing complex, either one wheat biscuit with a little milk or a single slice of toast along with tea. Bliss

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday everyone, look after yourselves.

Baggs Sat 01-Jul-23 19:34:56

Hello, Kitcheners! We have had a lovely visit from BTDD and DD2 joined us one of the days. BTDD said she had a lovely, relaxed time and that the roe deer fawns whose mama brought them into the garden to entertain us on two of the days of the visit were magical.

BTDD went home yesterday. This evening I am wearing three layers of clothes and a cashmere scarf and I'm still cold. I've put the heating on!!

Fawn pics attached.

Nannytopsy Sat 01-Jul-23 19:46:21

What’s BTDD please Baggs? I can’t work that one out!
We have been on a visit to Hyde Hall RHS garden today. Lovely food, gardens looking good and I only bought ONE plant!
I’m glad you have a new computer in sight soop.
Enjoy your evening everyone

Blossoming Sat 01-Jul-23 19:47:49

Beautiful pics Baggs, there’s a really chilly wind here today so I’m considering getting my winter fleece back out again! Glad you’ve enjoyed time with your daughters.

I hope the side effects settle down soon Jax and the haematology appointment is productive.

That’s tough re your DiL cornergran, I hope something can be worked out.

annsixty Sat 01-Jul-23 19:58:23

Do I assume that Brain Tumour DD came to visit?
What a lovely time for you.
I hope that treatment is keeping her going if not curing.
You must treasure every day she is well and responding to palliative treatment.
We none of us know just what is round the corner for us.
Every day is precious and we should enjoy it to the best of our ability.
I was told I wouldn’t see 80, in a few days I shall be 86, I count my blessings every day.
Very introspective today.
All of you enjoy the best day you can.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 01-Jul-23 20:11:40

Hello everyone.
I too like Neine’s pink outfit best.
This is the first full day of our North Wales jaunt. I must admit to feeling a bit low this morning. I even wrote a bad poem. It was so grey and dismal but it perked up. We spent a few hours at a craft centre. OH bought honey and a necklace for me. I bought fudge and a pewter dragon for our granddaughter. On the way back we popped into a pub for a much needed drink and booked Sunday lunch for tomorrow.
Have a good evening everyone.

Baggs Sat 01-Jul-23 20:28:34

BT refers to Brain Tumour(ed) daughter.

Naughtyneine Sat 01-Jul-23 21:19:54

I've neglected you all words wise in the last few days...but I do continue to think of you and pray for those whose hearts and minds and bodies too.. are in need.
Grandmabatty...a very talented DGD...an absolutely beautiful cake.
Corner... I'm so sorry to hear your news... That must have been a very hard conversation to have with your DH... and an outing was exactly the right thing to do.
Baggs... So lovely that you are making memories to cherish and that BTDD is responding well to her treatment... Long may it continue.
Brooke...a cherry scones is just about all I could manage just now!!!
Blossoming... I'm still recovering from the marathon flower arrangement day yesterday so no exercise for me today...and the washing basket will be tackled tomorrow.
LLFL...I was sad to think that you felt so low on your holidays... It's horrible when one of those days comes out of the blue. I hope your spirits lift soon. Can we see the necklace?
Yia... Everything crossed for Monday... You've been so patient.
Jax...I hope you can raise your concerns with your medical team...it's no fun not having to cope with the nose bleeds only to find you are affected more by the drugs.
Ann... You are so right we really don't know...but one thing is certain we all here have less time ahead than behind. You have been very kind to your DGD so deserved your breakfast in bed.
Soop... Let's hope the computer saga is resolved very soon...and such sadness for your friend and their family. Life is so very cruel at times. Prayers for them and a hug for you.

The wedding went beautifully... The flowers were much admired and the bride welled up when she saw them... which made me get teary too. A very lovely Mass for two very special people. The wedding meal was lush...I had smoked eel with scrambled egg to start... I've never had smoked eel before but it was gorgeous...and I will definitely have it again. It was followed by a perfectly cooked steak with tarragon butter....and then a mixed cheese platter ( I had to bring that home). We then had to hotfoot it back to church for our Sunday ( Saturday) mass as I sing in the choir. It's been a very special day. Thank you to all of you who shared my joy.

Blossoming Sat 01-Jul-23 22:06:10

That sounds perfect Neine and you look fabulous in your beautiful outfit x

I’m off to bed, very sleepy now.

Grannmarie Sat 01-Jul-23 23:08:54

Thank you, Neine for the photo, you look stunning in your beautiful outfit, the pashmina is perfect with your dress.

Baggs, glad to hear you enjoyedyour time with your DDs, Annsixty has very wise words of advice.

Ladyleftfieldlover, I hope the sun ☀ shines for you and lifts your spirits on your holiday.

Cornergran, thinking of you, MrC and your DD.

Soop, so sorry to hear about your friend and family, thinking of you and them.

TOYA, NNGB 💕🙏
