Afternoon kitcheners, I have cleared the Everest proportion ironing pile and it has all been put away.

It’s grey outside with intermittent rain, we are on school and pre-school pick up in just over an hour, no doubt they will be grumpy as no garden or swimming due to the weather.

Dear soop I hope your puter problems are solved soon.

SueDonim enjoy your holiday, I love a list by the way 🤣

Jaxjacky Tue 04-Jul-23 14:25:31

Cooler here down south brook with intermittent rain, I’ve faffed after getting to the pharmacy for opening at 8:30, but did get a short walk done in the dry.
A pleasant win on the premium bonds was a bonus this morning, next job is feed the greenhouse veg.
You’re so good GG13 I don’t iron, MrJ does his shirts, if I really, really need a linen mix top ironed, he’ll do it for me, everything else is hung to dry and folded, body heat eliminates creases #lazygran. That # reminds me of Urms, regularly in my thoughts.

Hello Kitcheners.
Loved your outfit Neine you looked stunning.

Well the valuation was ok,it’s now up to solicitors to make sense of the lease, freehold etc.🤔They need to get going as our buyers mortgage offer runs out in September. If this doesn’t work out we will run off to Greece forevermore.😂

My DGS1 had his prom last night,a very proud YiaYia will post the pic.GS fourth from the left.

Nannytopsy Tue 04-Jul-23 17:22:39

Good afternoon all! soop, I hope your new computer is a success - mine is so quick but Windows11 drives me mad!
DGC here again - 3rd sleepover since Friday. Good job we love them! We are off to see DD etc in Kent, tomorrow, then a day trip to Calais on Thursday. Home on Friday and unpacking our wine on Saturday 🤣. We shall get our snuggles with DGS2 while we are down there. 😍
It’s fishy Friday here for the children- all we have in the freezer they like. Frozen battered fish fillets and chips!
It smells like we are off, so goodbye for a couple of days and do behave while I’m gone. 😉

Blossoming Tue 04-Jul-23 17:25:28

Good evening dear Kitcheners. Today started off gloomy but brightened up to a lovely sunny afternoon. I finished the remaining laundry then this afternoon I had to visit the doctors surgery to make an appointment. He had a spare slot a little later, so MrB and I sat in the sunshine for half an hour, then saw doc. He has written yet another prescription to collect from the pharmacy, antibiotics for a week and a steroid cream for 2 weeks. Hopefully I won’t need a second visit.

I thought you were on your travels today Brook, I see I made a mistake.

Safe travels SueD.

Lovely pic Yia, hope you’re not waiting too long for a result.

Have a lovely evening everyone, TOYA.

Blossoming Tue 04-Jul-23 17:48:31

Crossed posts NannyTopsy, have a lovely time.

Grannmarie Tue 04-Jul-23 18:38:38

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people! Good to see you, Soop, you've been missed.

Happy holidays SueD, I hope the sun shines for you. 🌞

You've been busy, Brook, relax now!

Grannygravy, you've earned the ironing trophy 🏆 well done!

Jaxjacky, well done on your PB win!££

YiaYia, hoping and praying that all goes well for your house purchase. DGS is a handsome young man, he and his friends look so smart in their suits.

Safe travels, Nannytopsy, and enjoy your special cuddles with the wee boy.

Hope this prescription does the trick, Blossoming.

Sunshine and showers again, but Granddog and I managed a couple of wee walks in between, he's cuddled up beside me on the sofa, we're watching Popmaster TV on catch up. I am in awe of the contestants ' knowledge!

Enjoy your evening, TOYA.

Grandmabatty Tue 04-Jul-23 19:54:15

Good evening Kitcheners. I. Am. Pooped. Two days of two whirlwinds have beaten me. 😊 Today we were at a local country park which has a farm. Lots of looking at animals, walking loads, then a play park then then cafe then the animals again. Dgs1 picked up lots of natural stuff and has started a collection which is in the boot of my car. After dgs2 had his nap, we went to two railway stations to look at trains. The rain was torrential and we all got thoroughly drenched but both boys were happy. After I dropped them off, I visited mum who slept for twenty minutes while I sat so I left. Dinner should have been chicken curry but I treated myself to a fish supper. So I'm now sitting on the couch watching Indiana Jones contemplating the chaos in the kitchen from dgs2 who loves to empty the cupboards. See you all tomorrow

Jaxjacky Tue 04-Jul-23 20:15:15

What a lovely picture Yia, it’ll be Imogen’s prom next year, where does it go? Hopes for your move are high here 🤞.
Never mind a fish supper Gbatty a champagne dinner is deserved at least.
It’s cold here, hurled it down with rain and miserable, no pleasing this fickle one, I’d requested 25 and sun during the day with rain overnight, for three months.
I’ll see you later, ttfn.

cornergran Tue 04-Jul-23 20:34:39

Same here jax. I was pleased to see the rain, note the past tense. Our poor roses are wrecked between wind and rain.

Happy holidays to all setting off or there already. Just one list sued? I’d have at least three on the go. I’m in awe of your staying power grandmab. You surely are grandma of the year.

Are you OK ann?

Hope you’re up and running speedily soop. We do rely on computers don’t we, wretched things that they are.

Have a good night everyone.

brook2704 Tue 04-Jul-23 20:59:12

Oh my goodness grandmabatty no wonder you’re exhausted …. wish I lived closer then I’d come and give you a hand! Hope you’re resting now and you enjoyed your fish supper but I do agree with jax you definitely deserve the champagne 🥂
What a gorgeous photo Yia - what a stretch limo that is!
A busy time nannytopsy, enjoy and hope you can fit lots of wine into the boot!
I’m off on my travels on Thursday blossoming, getting the afternoon flight down to London and then the train onto Cambridge. I’m doing a big grocery shop tomorrow so the fridge is well stocked for DH, he won’t be going out whilst I’m away as he’s not back to driving just yet. I think he’s rather looking forward to spending a few lazy days in full charge of the tv remote and having egg and chips for tea
Hope the new meds help blossoming take care
I hardly ever iron these days, now and again a linen top and if we’ve got visitors then I’ll iron their bedding 😀

Grandmabatty Tue 04-Jul-23 21:08:11

Ladies, you are all lovely. I hope your evening has gone well. I'm watching a horror film now. Bed soon x

brook2704 Tue 04-Jul-23 21:12:42

I’d be hiding behind the sofa grandmabatty I can’t watch any horror films

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 04-Jul-23 21:42:10

Hello everyone. I hope you get that new computer soon Soop!
We have had a good day. We had a delicious lunch in a picturesque seaside town. We then drove to amazing honey farm. OH keeps bees so it was interesting for him to see how they worked. Mead is made on the premises too. Of course we bought mead and a couple of jars of honey. We are hoping for fine weather tomorrow so we can spend the day at the beach. There is a craft centre nearby which I would like to look at and they serve light lunches too. I am thinking of Urms💐

Grandmachrisy47 Tue 04-Jul-23 21:42:43

Grandmabatty, respect! I’ve had dgd (8) since picking her up from school for a sleepover. She’s finally gone to bed and I’m worn out 😂. Fortunately school is only 5 mins walk from here so she can sleep late.

Charleygirl5 Tue 04-Jul-23 22:07:29

Ann I am worried after that nasty fall you may have broken a bone. If you are still in a lot of pain I would go to either your GP surgery and he should refer you for an x-ray or go to A&E but be prepared to spend hours there.

Have you got any metalwork in your body?

the rain Gods heard me and there was a downpour today so my grass will look a tad better I hope. The weeds are certainly flourishing.

Yia seeing the stretch limo my thoughts were I could not drive that because I could not park it and in London, I would be driving around forever because with my driving skills, I would need an empty street.

What a handsome lot of fellows.

TOYA

SueDonim Tue 04-Jul-23 22:55:45

Just checking in with you all from a Travelodge on the M6! I had a busy morning - phone appt with a nurse practitioner who has confirmed a diagnosis of asthma, then a physio appt. We got away before 2pm, though and apart from heavy rain showers the drive was fine. I don’t usually make a list for holidays, it’s in my head but these last three years I’ve kind of forgotten how to go away so thought I’d better keep myself on the straight and narrow. grin

Dh had to make a FaceTime call to 21mth old GS while we were travelling - GS wouldn’t go to bed without seeing his Pops first.

I also have a wee story from dd. She discovered some half-defrosted frozen roast potatoes dotted through her house the other day. She followed the trail and it led to her broken air fryer where GS had filled the basket with potatoes from the freezer in an effort to get his own tea! ❤️❤️❤️

Sleep well, everyone. Xx

soop Wed 05-Jul-23 16:10:43

My very best wishes to all You lovely lot. I hope to fully catch up as soon as I'm able.

annsixty Wed 05-Jul-23 17:06:31

Good afternoon all.
For the first time since Saturday I am starting to feel more comfortable, had painkillers this morning but none since.
I was feeling nauseous from them and didn’t want to eat.
However I think I shall live.
I admit to feeling sorry for myself.
I was alone in the house when I fell and the awful “ what ifs” hit me.
If I had have been going away yesterday instead of next Tuesday I couldn’t have gone.
Since I told my friend across the road who I am going with she hasn’t once rung or txtd to ask how I am, she is the only one allowed to be ill !!!
I have managed to do some tidying up and done the recycling .

My GD is off to Barcelona for four days tomorrow so I have done some bits for her, she is a last minute person, it drives me mad.

It seems as if plenty of Kitcheners are on ther travels so I wish you all a safe journey and a happy stay.

Blossoming Wed 05-Jul-23 17:27:09

I’m glad to see you’re feeling better annsixty and it won’t affect your travels. I have not done very much at all today, we are looking at renovating the en-suite shower room so lots of options to consider and decisions to make.
Have a pleasant evening all.

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Jul-23 17:33:16

I'm glad you are starting to feel a little better Annsixty. It's hard not to think, what if, but that'll affect your confidence. Soop good to hear from you. Suedonim safe journey and I love the tale of the junior chef! GrandmaChrisy they are hard work, aren't they? I think my daughter forgets I'm not as young as she is.
After two very busy childcare days, I've been fairly quiet today. A trip to the chiropodist then I visited my friend's partner for coffee and a blether. He's struggling a bit with mail coming in still for her and not knowing the best way to deal with things. Shortly I'll visit mum. I never stay long as she sleeps through most of it, but at least I've been. I'm not altogether sure she remembers I've visited either. Definitely chicken curry tonight. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 05-Jul-23 17:33:56

We went to the beach. Windy and wet and no swimming - although a few people were in the water. An invigorating morning. Lunch was good and I bought a small present for my neighbour who is feeding the cats.

dustyangel Wed 05-Jul-23 17:48:33

Glad you’re starting to feel better Ann and able to look forward to your holiday. Your comment about your G D amused me, my lovely, technical advisor/instructor and very helpful GS has gone to the beach this afternoon with his Dad. He is also going into town, and into Faro to Primark to return something. Then we’re eating out tonight because because he’s going back to England on a very early flight. They didn’t leave here until gone three this afternoon and he has still got to pack sometime.

brook2704 Wed 05-Jul-23 19:56:24

So pleased you’re feeling a bit better Ann, take it easy though. Hope your GD enjoys Barcelona and has a good time
I got through workout Wednesday at the gym and then had a really good catch up on the comfy sofas at Starbucks with my pal. Then a trip to Tesco. The cupboards and fridge are now well stocked and there’s a few treats in the kids sweetie jar for DH to enjoy whilst I’m away. DD2 would normally call in if he needed anything , but they’re all away on holiday to Kos from Friday. And luckily they’ve got someone else to look after their little cat until I’m back next week!
Pleased you’ve had a quieter day grandmabatty and hope the visit to your mum was ok.
A new en-suite is something we need to think about too Blossoming, but I keep putting it off!
Safe travels to your GS dusty and everyone else on the move
Looks a little bit cold on that beach Llfl

Jaxjacky Wed 05-Jul-23 21:14:11

That’s good you’re feeling better ann it’s the shock too.
Enjoy your holiday SueD and safe trip tomorrow brook.
More rain today, slightly warmer, Friday we’re due 26, storms on Saturday.
I harvested new potatoes and mini cucumbers from the garden today, hoiked a few weeds out too., they’re loving the rain.
