I realise this will just be a comment that affects those of us who live in the East of England but is anyone else fed up and worn out with this constant north easterly wind. Iโ€™m putting the fire on every evening and still feeling I need to dress like winter during the day in spite of the sunshine! Itโ€™s starting to make me feel a bit depressed and I know if the wind changes direction and it gets too hot Iโ€™ll be complaining about that too ๐Ÿ˜‚ but Iโ€™m just so cold all of the time! Anyone else fed up with it?

I love in the north west it's been 24ยฐ in my living room since Thursday during the day at the moment it's 21ยฐ. And I don't live far from the sea .

It's been pretty windy here in the south east for the past few days, particularly today, tress that screen the back of our garden outside our fence have been chucking pieces of wood, onto our lawn, forever picking them up. When we had the warm sunny spell a week or so ago, although it still is sunshine intermittently, consigned my ankle boots to the back of the wardrobe and got my summer sliders out, but having to wear socks around the house in the evening shock Warmer tomorrow apparently!

We are in Mid Devon this week. Beautiful sunny blue skies but a really chilly wind.

It never ceases to amaze me just how localised weather can be. Some in the NE saying how cold it is while others in the NE (like me) are saying they've enjoyed warm sunshine.

Mind you, it's always chilly at night up here, even in the height of summer. Warm summer nights were something I missed when I moved from south to notth..

Here in North Devon we've had a lovely sunny week but the wind is strong and cool.

Yep ,live in Clacton on the coast & the wind is relentless at the moment, its June in 2 days & can't believe I'm still wearing jumpers & a coat. Really starting to get me down. ๐Ÿ˜ก

s somerset. Beautiful sun keeping the house warm and enticing me outside, then I went outside and it was a cold unpleasant wind. So cold and gusty that I decided not to go on my cycle ride

Very drying for pot plants, depth below ground soil shoule be ok, at least here in somerset, as it rained almost every day for weeks

We live on the Essex coast and it is really cold today. The wind has been fierce all weekend and doesn't looking like abating any time soon. Roll on summer !!!!

We get teased here in West Yorkshire! Yesterday was warm but it is overcast today so back to jeans and a jumper! We cannot plan anything and I think this is the longest coldest winter for a long time even though I had a month in Oz and NZ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
Going to Northumberland on Saturday, my happy place, but it looks a cool forecast ! Hey ho at least we have water and no bush fires to worry about but the allotment is very dry! Strange times !!

We are fed up with this chilly north easterly wind too, here in the South, sun is plentiful and warm but when that sharp wind blows it's freezing! And strong enough to blow things away ๐Ÿ˜…

I'd prefer sun and a bit warmer. But the gardens are lovely, flowers blooming and veg growing. Brilliant eating homegrown.

It has been very chilly for ages now in Clacton! Go to see family in Colchester & not so bad being bit inland! Wondering if this is how summer will be & why with supposed Global Warming we have this nasty Northerly wind day after day? Really need some warmth & chance to stop wearing winter clothes!

Chilly in North Norfolk near Cromer too with a bit of rain today and 13 deg brr .

I live in the Btecon Beacons, quite high up. The sunshine has been lovely but the wind has been cruel unless in a sheltered spot. Evenings have needed something warm to cover arms - had visitors who needed an electric fire on!!

We don't live near you, and fireplaces are still burning. To sit outside late we must use the garden heaters.

Whatever the weather let's be thankful that we haven't had the awful floods like in Emilia Romagna where my daughter lives. Be grateful for small mercies!

I am sick to death of this cold wind, I live in East Anglia. I would much prefer temperatures of 30 plus and never complain about hot dry summers,

GrammaH Tue 30-May-23 13:33:54

We're quite high up in Shropshire and we catch the wind - it certainly hasn't been the "gentle breeze" the forecasters have predicted for the past few days. This morning early on was just plain cold, DH went out in a coat and hat! The sun is out now but it's still very windy. I've really had enough now!!

sundowngirl Tue 30-May-23 13:44:21

We've just come back from a week in France, just outside of Paris. Although it was mostly sunny, the wind was so cold that we had to wrap up there too.

cmcpne Tue 30-May-23 14:02:45

You are very lucky to live there. Had a wonderful week last September staying near sea houses and the sun shone from day one. Beaches like you describe almost empty. Out dog just loved it as did we.

tigger Tue 30-May-23 14:12:11

It also affects the growing season, everything is slow.

OurKid1 Tue 30-May-23 14:23:46

It's the same right over here in the West too. Still it's a good drying washing day!

Taichinan Tue 30-May-23 14:50:29

Not just the East of England nannysprout! Scotland gets it too!
It is a bit depressing, I agree, though not as bad as constant grey skies or fog, which we had over a few days the week before last. The thing about the weather is that it doesn't last (try telling me that when the pesky haar comes in and forgets to go out again!). It'll be raining next week ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ข

Mamie Tue 30-May-23 14:55:09

We have lovely sunny days, but still the endless northerly winds. We are in Normandy.

Grandma29 Tue 30-May-23 15:22:21

Yes this cold wind is getti g me down too.
I was on the east coast recently and although the sun was out and sky blue it was really cold.
Dressing in layers is the order of the day!
